"When did you discover that you had this ability to survive among zombies without being detected by them?" I asked.
Lu Yun looked at me. "Are you so curious about me?"
I said, "I just want to understand, and also to figure out what's going on with your situation."
Lu Yun looked at me, her eyes turning unfriendly. "I've heard from my sister that you're a doctor. What, now you want to study me?"
I shook my head and said, "How could I possibly study you? I just want to figure out some things, like why you're not afraid of zombies, or rather, why the zombies ignore your existence. If we can find the reason in you, perhaps the rest of us can do it too."
If I hadn't seen her standing among the zombies with my own eyes, I wouldn't have had this thought.
Since Lu Yun is not afraid of zombies, and judging from the note I found at the gas station, there are many people like Lu Yun in this world.
They are not afraid of zombies and can walk freely among them, which shows that they are different from ordinary people like us!
As for exactly where the differences lie, I can't say for sure right now.
But I can definitely explain it clearly, I just can't remember it right now!
Definitely!
Lu Yun looked at me thoughtfully, then shook her head and said, "I won't let you study me."
I laughed and said, "I won't study you, but your appearance reminded me of something."
"What's wrong?" Lu Yun asked me curiously.
I said, "With you here, I believe our chances of survival will greatly increase."
Lu Yun sneered, "So you're trying to use me?"
I said noncommittally, "No matter what, your sister trusts me completely. I know you don't trust me yet, but don't worry, I, Lu Xiaonan, would never do anything to betray you. If you are in trouble, I will do my best to save you, so I hope you can help me out and let us live well together."
Lu Yun rolled her eyes at me. "You make it sound so nice, but in the end you just want to take advantage of my abilities."
I smiled and said, "Think what you want, even if you think I'm using you. Anyway, you won't leave your sister."
"You!" Lu Yun frowned, staring at me with disgust, and finally cursed, "You're a bastard!"
After saying that, she left the rooftop and went downstairs.
I suppressed my smile, glanced at the sofa beside me, sat down, and sighed.
What should we do next?
Should we take the people who should leave to Chen Yefei's Southeast Residential Area?
"Judging by the time, Du Xu should be coming from Wutong City soon. Last time I told him the address was the school, so he will definitely go back to the school."
"If the school is still under Biyuan's surveillance, then things will get a bit complicated."
I scratched my head, my mind a mess.
A short while later, Fei Lichao arrived on the rooftop.
"So you're here. I thought you were with Sister Jing." Fei Lichao said after coming up.
I looked up at Fei Lichao, my face expressionless.
Fei Lichao seemed to notice that something was wrong with me and said, "What's wrong? You look like something's wrong."
I took a deep breath, looked away, and asked, "Is Sister Jing awake?"
Fei Lichao said, "I'm awake, but I'm still a bit tired."
I nodded. "Okay, then let's go together."
Fei Lichao asked in confusion, "Where to?"
I didn't say anything and went straight downstairs.
Fei Lichao caught up and asked, "Hey, where are we going?"
...
When we got downstairs, I got into the car. Fei Lichao followed and asked, "Xiaonan, you don't look well. Did something happen? Also, where are we going?"
I said, "You'll find out when you get there."
Fei Lichao immediately asked, "You're not going to Biyuan, are you? Wouldn't it be too few people if it's just the two of us? Besides, there are still a lot of things to do in Jiangbei. Is it appropriate for us to leave like this?"
I said, "I'm not going to Biyuan, I'm just going to see Zhang Zhihao."
"Oh, is that so? That scared the hell out of me." Fei Lichao didn't think much of it; he had no idea that Zhang Zhihao was already dead.
I really wanted to tell him the truth, but for some reason, I just couldn't bring myself to say it.
The car left Jiangbei and headed back the way it came. There should be quite a few zombies there by now. But with two of us, it'll be easy to lure them away; no need to worry.
Fei Lichao talked a lot along the way.
He was telling me about the battle between Jiangbei and Biyuan, and the group of zombies that suddenly appeared and saved Jiangbei.
I wasn't surprised to hear this, since I knew Lu Yun had brought these zombies. However, there was one thing I didn't understand: wasn't Lu Yun supposed to be looking for Sister Jing? Why was she here helping Jiang Bei?
I hadn't thought of it earlier, so I didn't ask. I'll ask the girl when I get back.
About twenty minutes later, Fei Lichao and I arrived near the place where we had been bombed earlier, which was now full of zombies.
Therefore, it is impossible to get close.
However, in order to get Zhang Zhihao's body out, they had no choice but to risk luring the zombies away.
Fei Lichao climbed out of the sunroof of the car and shouted a few times at the zombies. All the zombies noticed us, and then I drove the car to lure them all away after they came over.
Because they walk very slowly, they basically follow behind at a leisurely pace.
Ten minutes later, after we lured the zombies away, I stepped on the gas and drove in a big circle back to the street where we had been bombed by rockets.
The streets were in a mess.
After we got off the bus, Fei Lichao looked around and exclaimed in surprise, "Was this... blown up by a grenade?"
“Rockets,” I said.
"Rockets!" Fei Lichao exclaimed in surprise, "This Biyuan Garden even has rockets!"
"Um."
Fei Lichao looked at me with a puzzled expression, "Since they have this thing, why didn't they use it when they attacked Jiangbei before? If they had used it, Jiangbei would have been completely finished!"
I scoffed, "How would I know?"
Perhaps Biyuan's true objective wasn't Jiangbei, but rather to kill Jiangbei's leader, Su Mu. If Su Mu, as the leader, were to give the order, Jiangbei would naturally collapse.
Fei Lichao looked at me and asked, "Didn't you just say you were going to find Zhang Zhihao? Where is he?"
I felt a bit depressed and didn't answer his question. I walked over to the overturned pickup truck, squatted down, and glanced at Zhang Zhihao, who was still trapped in the driver's seat. He had now turned into a zombie.
“He’s here,” I said, pointing to Zhang Zhihao, who had turned into a zombie.
Fei Lichao was puzzled. He walked over, squatted down, and looked at his face, which froze.
