Fei Lichao had a smile on his face when he squatted down, but when he saw Zhang Zhihao in the driver's seat, his smile froze.
It took a long time for his expression to gradually change, from initial stiffness to disbelief, then to acceptance, and finally he closed his eyes, tears streaming down his face.
I stood up and looked around. The plastic bags on the ground were fluttering in the wind, blowing high into the air.
"Who did this?"
Fei Lichao gritted his teeth and asked.
I said, "Who else could it be but someone from Biyuan?"
Where are they?
I said, "I've already killed all the people who were lying in ambush with us."
Fei Lichao stood up, turned to stare at me, his eyes bloodshot, "And then what the hell are you planning to do?"
With a calm expression, I said, "Destroy Biyuan."
"Great!" Fei Lichao agreed wholeheartedly. "When do we start?"
I said, "Let's discuss this further and wait until Du Xu arrives."
Fei Lichao nodded, without any excessive impulse, and said, "I'll listen to you."
I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard Fei Lichao's answer. What I feared most was that he would suddenly act impulsively and rush towards Biyuan, which would be tantamount to suicide. Fortunately, he calmed down this time and did not act rashly.
I said, "Let's get Zhang Zhihao out first, then go back to Jiangbei, rest for a day, and wait for Sister Jing to recover before leaving Jiangbei."
"Hmm." Fei Lichao nodded and began to think of a way to get Zhang Zhihao out of the car.
The most direct way is to pull it out directly, but that would mean cutting off Zhang Zhihao's legs first, since his legs are stuck under the steering wheel and can't be pulled out at all.
Fei Lichao crouched down, took a dagger in his hand, crawled into the driver's seat, and plunged it into Zhang Zhihao's head. Zhang Zhihao, now a zombie, became motionless.
He checked inside, and after tugging at Zhang Zhihao's stuck legs, he climbed out.
"How is it?" I asked.
“Simple.” Fei Lichao looked around, walked a short distance away and picked up a steel bar. Then he went back into the driver’s seat, inserted the steel bar under the steering wheel, and pried it open with force.
Click!
I heard the sound of plastic breaking, but since I was standing outside, I couldn't see what was happening inside. Fei Lichao didn't stop; he pried a few more times, and the steering wheel fell off.
Not long after, Zhang Zhihao's body loosened, and his legs, which had been stuck, were freed from under the steering wheel.
I stood outside and helped Fei Lichao drag Zhang Zhihao's body out of there.
I looked down at his legs and saw that they were deformed, and there was a knife stuck in his chest.
I pulled the broken knife from his chest, and some blood flowed out.
Fei Lichao and I stood on either side of Zhang Zhihao's body. I saw that Zhang Zhihao's eyes were wide open, so I knelt down and closed them for him. I remembered that when he died, there was a slight smile on his lips, as if he had been relieved.
Fei Lichao said, "How could this kid die!"
I sighed, unsure what to say. Not far away, some zombies spotted us and were staggering towards us.
"Let's go," I said.
The two of us carried his body into the car and then drove away.
Twenty minutes later, we returned to Jiangbei.
...
Back in Jiangbei, I found the atmosphere there to be a bit strange.
A large number of people had gathered in the open space north of the river, seemingly making a commotion, but it was unclear what had happened.
"What's going on over there?" I asked curiously.
Fei Lichao turned his head and said, "A bunch of idiots think Jiangbei is too dangerous and want to leave, so someone gathered them together to cause trouble."
I nodded, not really concerned. This wasn't my problem, it was Su Mu's problem, so let him worry about it. However, if this matter escalated, it might be detrimental to us.
I said, "How about we leave tonight?"
Fei Lichao agreed, "Yes, it's better to leave sooner."
I parked the car downstairs at the building with the name of the drama. I originally wanted to put Zhang Zhihao's body in the car, but I thought it was too dangerous. If someone saw it, there might be problems. So Fei Lichao carried Zhang Zhihao's body upstairs.
When we arrived at Zhang Zhihao's house and opened the door, we saw Lu Yun outside pouring hot water. She wasn't surprised to see us come in and asked, "Where did you go? My sister woke up and was looking for you."
I was taken aback and asked, "Sister Jing is awake?"
Lu Yun said, "She's asleep again now."
"Then let Jingjie continue sleeping," I said. "Did Jingjie say anything when she woke up earlier?"
Lu Yun shook her head. "She didn't say anything, just asked how you were. Hmm, what happened to him? He seems quite serious. Is there any hope?"
Lu Yun saw Fei Lichao put Zhang Zhihao on the sofa and asked curiously.
I said, "He's dead."
Lu Yun opened her mouth but couldn't say anything. Finally, she said "Oh" and went back to her room to take care of her sister.
It's still early. If we leave now, the people in Jiangbei will probably find it very strange.
I glanced at Zhang Zhihao's body on the sofa and said, "I'll go find Su Mu and tell him we're leaving tonight. You go and inform Du Xu's men that we'll leave together."
"Yes, no problem."
Fei Lichao and I split up.
Upon arriving at the room on the first floor, which was filled with wounded soldiers, they searched around but found that Su Mu was not there. After asking the others, they learned that Su Mu had gone back to his own room.
