(Second update is here! Third update coming soon)
Yes, what should we do next?
It's already past 3:30, and it's getting darker and darker. I can't stay in this ward forever, can I?
There's nothing here.
There's no food, no water; staying here means certain death.
Bang!
The monster outside slammed against the door again; it seemed it hadn't left yet.
I took a deep breath, sat up in bed, and glanced at the gauze on my leg. It had turned red. I had moved too vigorously before, so it was normal for it to bleed.
I looked around the ward and was pleasantly surprised to find a wheelchair by the bedside.
Now that we have a wheelchair, it will be easier to go out later.
"However, we need to kill the monsters outside first."
I sat on the bed to rest. Half an hour passed, and around four o'clock, the setting sun shone through the window, changing the color of the whole room.
"That's enough, it's time to go."
I know where my next destination is.
In the hospital, the only place I could go was the doctors' lounge, which was the lounge I shared with Zhou Yang.
I got out of bed, supported myself with my right foot, and walked slowly, enduring the pain in my left leg, until I reached the door.
Bang!
The monster outside slammed against the door again. I took a deep breath, pulled a dagger from my pocket, and gripped it tightly in my hand.
Immediately, he quietly turned the doorknob.
"Awooo!" The monster's roar from outside the door instantly rang in.
I leaned against the wall, waiting for the monster's head to pop in, swallowing hard, feeling very nervous.
Although it wasn't my first time killing monsters, I was always terrified every time I faced them.
There's no other way; once they catch us, it's certain death.
"Aow!" A roar came, and the monster's head slowly entered.
"Now!"
I seized the opportunity and stabbed the dagger directly into his head. The tip of the blade pierced the monster's scalp instantly, but it did not break through the skull. Moreover, due to inertia, the monster's head hit the door frame, but nothing happened to it.
I withdrew my dagger and glared at the monster.
I saw it slowly turn its head, let out a roar, and pounce on me.
"Damn it!" I cursed as the monster pounced on me and knocked me to the ground.
He fell to the ground on his back and was in great pain.
The monster's hands gripped me, and its mouth opened as if to bite my cheek.
I grabbed its hair to keep its mouth away, and then plunged the dagger in my right hand into the back of its head. Because there was no skull there, it was easy to stab in.
Instantly, the monster fell silent.
I breathed a sigh of relief, and as soon as I let go, the monster's cheek was pressed against mine.
It was disgusting. I pushed him away decisively, got up from the floor, and sat in the wheelchair by the bedside, panting.
I listened quietly to the sounds outside, and after waiting for a long time to make sure there were no monsters outside the house, I picked up my backpack and axe, pushed my wheelchair to the door, and peeked out. Apart from the corpses on the ground, there were no monsters in the entire corridor.
If there's no danger, then let's set off.
Pushing the wheels on both sides of the wheelchair, I moved around the corpses in the corridor, much faster than I could walk.
The doctors' lounge is not far from here; it's just two corridors away.
In no time, I arrived at the corridor between the outpatient hall and the inpatient department in my wheelchair.
Only after passing through this long corridor can I reach the hospital's lounge.
However, this corridor is very wide, and there are monsters in the outpatient hall and inpatient department. If I go there rashly now, I will definitely attract their attention, and if they catch up, I will be doomed.
"I need to find a way to avoid attracting their attention." I frowned, unable to think of any solution.
If my leg hadn't been injured, I could definitely have run there quietly.
But now I'm in a wheelchair, and if I push the wheelchair, it will definitely make a sound.
trouble!
What should I do?
"Should I walk over there?" I wondered to myself.
That seems like a good idea. Although it's a bit slow to walk there, at least it's quieter!
The corridor is about ten meters wide, so it should be quick to get there, right?
I'm starting to make a decision, and I don't know what to do.
The longer I wait, the more dangerous it becomes for me.
"Damn it, I'll just use the wheelchair. So what if I die!" I made up my mind and pushed the wheelchair out.
There were no bodies blocking the road ahead, so the wheelchair passed quickly!
Ten meters was covered in an instant!
I didn't dare linger and pushed my way towards the doctors' lounge.
As for the monsters behind them, none of them caught up.
"Almost there! Almost there! Just around the corner!" I stared at the corner ahead and started to slow down. Soon, I came to a stop at the corner.
I peeked out and saw that the entrance to the lounge was clean; there were no monsters or corpses there!
That's true. Normally, no one comes here except for doctors. When the virus broke out, there weren't many doctors in the entire hospital, and there was even less people in the doctors' lounge.
I pushed forward decisively, and the closer I got, the more nervous I became, and the faster my heart beat. I was terrified that a monster would suddenly jump out from behind me.
A moment later, I arrived at the door without incident, pressed the doorknob, and found it unlocked!
I excitedly went inside, but there were no monsters, and everything was still the same as before.
The room was small. On the lower bunk was a copy of "Experiments in Pathogenic Biology and Immunology" that I hadn't finished reading. My underwear, which had dried a little, was hanging to dry by the bedside. My phone, which was charging, was on the table. Everything was the same, just like yesterday.
