I stopped the car, opened the door, grabbed the axe, and chased after them.
The backpack that kid stole was full of medicine, gauze, and surgical instruments. These things are much more important than food!
He ran extremely fast, and in no time he was out of the alley. I hurriedly chased after him, and when I turned at the exit, I saw that the kid had already run to the other side of the street.
The streets are teeming with monsters, and although they are scattered, they are still very dangerous.
I hesitated whether to chase after them, but thinking of the packet of medicine, I gritted my teeth, took a step forward, used the axe in my hand to chop down the monster blocking my way, stepped over the corpse, and continued the pursuit.
As a result, the kid ran into another alleyway in no time, and I was so angry I gritted my teeth.
Getting across the street from here isn't going to be easy. I glanced around and spotted another overpass ahead. A smile crept onto my face, and I decisively ran across.
The overpass is safe; there are only two monsters there.
When I got to the overpass, I ran to the other side of the street and immediately spotted the kid.
"Let's see how you run now!"
I sneered and was about to give chase when the wound on my left leg suddenly started to hurt, almost making me fall. Luckily, I only stumbled a few steps. I limped and continued to chase, but at a much slower pace.
"Depend on!"
A moment later, I saw the kid turn a corner and disappear from my sight.
"Huff!" I gasped for breath, clutching my aching left leg, and limped forward to chase after him. As I entered the alley, I thought to myself, forget it, let him take it if he wants, I can't catch up with him now.
"Ah!" Just as I was about to give up, a scream suddenly came from ahead.
I paused, then widened my eyes, "It's that kid!"
I hurried after him, and when I got out of the alley, I saw the boy fall to the ground. His left foot seemed to be broken. He was lying on the ground screaming in pain, still clutching my backpack in his hand.
Two monsters around him kept getting closer.
I gave a wry smile and shook my head, wondering if this counted as good luck.
Should we save him? No, let's save him!
I limped over to him and started dealing with the two monsters.
Just then, the boy, enduring the pain, got up from the ground and hopped forward on one foot. A little while later, I saw a kindergarten open its gate and take him inside.
"Damn it! No good deed goes unpunished!"
I glared at them, killed the two monsters, and ran over without hesitation.
Just as they were about to close the door, I stuck my axe into the crack, then used the force to ram it in, crashing into the concrete floor.
I tried to stand up, but one of the children in the kindergarten held a knife to my neck and warned me, "Throw away the axe you're holding."
