Chapter 50 Zhou Zhengnan is dead

(Third update! The protagonist is going to meet Captain Fei! So exciting! Third update! To be continued tomorrow.)

Fei Lichao!

My expression changed instantly.

I had thought before that Gao Feng might be Fei Lichao's man, and I didn't expect it to be true. Moreover, Fei Lichao is now injured!

Gao Feng noticed the unusual look on my face and asked, "What's wrong?"

"How is he now? Has the bullet been removed? When was he injured? How badly is he injured?" I panicked and asked a lot of questions.

Gao Feng shook his head and said, "I don't know how the captain is now. He seemed to be doing well before he left, but I don't know now."

I'm a little worried. If the gunshot wound is treated properly, Fei Lichao will naturally be fine. But if an infection occurs, it could lead to complications, which would be terrible.

Gao Feng continued, "The captain was injured yesterday morning, and we just arrived here yesterday as well."

I nodded and hurriedly said, "Let's go quickly, let's go up now."

Gao Feng thought I was acting strangely, but he didn't ask any more questions. He didn't think much of my eagerness to go up the mountain, so after we explained things to each other, we headed up the mountain.

I'm very anxious right now.

If Fei Lichao is alive, then perhaps Pu Weichao and Wu Shuang are also alive.

On the way, after walking for a few minutes, I saw the landslide that Gao Feng had mentioned.

It was indeed a landslide.

There was a huge, thick tree blocking the road ahead, essentially cutting off the entire highway and making it impossible for vehicles to get through.

After crossing the thick tree, it was already completely dark.

Gao Feng took a flashlight out of his pocket, and I also took a flashlight out of my backpack to illuminate the asphalt road ahead.

Gao Feng then asked, "Dr. Lu, when you asked me about the captain's condition earlier, you seemed very anxious. Do you know the captain?"

I didn't hide it; there's no point in hiding something like this.

"Yes, I know him. He's the one who took me to the air-raid shelter before."

"Oh, I see." Gao Feng suddenly realized.

"By the way, besides Fei Lichao, how many other people are up there?"

“There are two more,” Gao Feng said.

I nodded. "Are there two more? Then it's likely to be Pu Weichao and Wu Shuang. I hope it's them."

rustling—

Just as I was about to ask who those two people were, a sudden gust of night wind swept in, making the whole mountain rustle! I hunched my shoulders and squinted, keeping up with Gao Feng's jogging pace. After we rounded a bend in the road ahead, the wind subsided considerably.

I rubbed my cold cheeks, feeling like I was about to be blown to bits by the wind.

Gao Feng then lowered his voice and said to me, "We need to be careful now. There are quite a few zombies here. If we're not careful, we could die here. When we came here before, there were a few people with us, but they got into an accident while going up the mountain and died here."

I nodded; the road in front of me was pitch black and I couldn't see anything.

The flashlight beam was weak, as if it might be blown away by the wind at any moment.

I followed closely behind Gao Feng, gripping the axe tightly in my hand.

The wind on the mountain was really strong and loud. Combined with the rustling of leaves from the trees, my ears were filled with a constant rustling sound, and I couldn't hear anything else.

Even if monsters came, I probably wouldn't be able to hear their roars.

This must be what Gao Feng meant by how terrifying it is.

Previously, it was easy to tell when a monster was nearby; you just needed to hear its roars. But now, with the wind so strong, you can't hear it at all!

"Stay close to me!" Gao Feng turned to me and said, his face looking very grim.

"Hmm." I was on high alert.

The road ahead is unlikely to be peaceful!

Both flashlight beams shone forward, and after a moment, a figure suddenly appeared within the range of the flashlight beams.

It was only ten meters away from us.

"Wait! Let's see what that is first."

Gao Feng decisively stopped and shone his flashlight ahead. We saw a monster in front of us. Only half of its face was left, and a small part of its neck had been bitten off. There was a large gash on its stomach, and its intestines were hanging out. As it walked, its intestines dragged around its knees.

In short, it's disgusting.

Gao Feng used his flashlight to look around and, after confirming that there were no other monsters, he put away his gun, drew a dagger from his waist, and slashed the monster's head. The monster instantly fell to the ground and died.

I approached him and cautiously shone my flashlight on the road ahead, but I didn't see any other monsters.

“It’s resolved, let’s go,” Gao Feng said, gripping the dagger.

"Okay." I nodded.

Suddenly, I felt a chill run down my spine, and instinctively turned around to shine my flashlight behind me!

"Aww!"

In an instant, a roaring monster appeared before me, spreading its arms and lunging at me, pressing down on my shoulders!

I stumbled and fell backward, the flashlight in my hand flying out and shattering with two loud bangs, its light disappearing completely.

"Help me!" I cried out urgently.

"Awooo!" The monster ignored this and opened its mouth to bite my arm.

I was a little slow to react, and the monster bit my arm. My arm hurt, and I thought I was done for!

If I get bitten by a monster, am I going to die?!

Damn it! I'm not done living yet!

Thinking of this, I don't know where the strength came from, but I raised my knee and slammed it into the monster's groin, then bent my knee and kicked it in the stomach.
