When you have to fight tooth and nail to survive, you have no other choice but to fight.

"Wu Shuang, wake up, we're here." In the sunset, I brushed aside the hair that was blocking Wu Shuang's eyes.
"We're here." Wu Shuang groggily opened her eyes, smiled slightly at me, and said in a coquettish tone, "I'm so tired, can you carry me?"
"Okay, I'll carry you on my back." I smiled and got off the bus by myself. Wu Shuang came to the edge of the carriage and climbed onto my back.
Pu Weichao seemed to notice Wu Shuang's condition and asked, "Wu Shuang, are you alright?"
Wu Shuang smiled and shook his head.
My eyes showed bitterness as I said, "Let's talk about it when we get back."
Pu Weichao was taken aback for a moment, then understood and nodded, saying, "Okay, we'll talk about it when we get back."
However, after taking only two steps, Pu Weichao slapped his forehead and cursed, "Holy crap!"
We all stared at him, puzzled, not understanding what he was cursing.
He turned to face us, his face full of confusion, and said, "I forgot!"
"What have you forgotten?" I asked in surprise.
"Supplies!" Pu Weichao shouted, grabbing his hair. "Didn't we say we'd bring the supplies from that supermarket on the way back? I forgot!"
Chen shook his head: "You scared me to death. I thought it was something important."
"Isn't that important?" Pu Weichao asked, staring blankly.
I chuckled and said, "Alright, let's go find supplies tomorrow."
Pu Weichao lowered his head and resignedly said, "Alright, alright, I'll go look for it tomorrow then."
Wu Shuang chuckled in my ear, sounding very happy.
We stepped over the large tree blocking our path and arrived at the most dangerous section of the road. Upon reaching this point, we saw three monsters lurking on the road ahead.
Pu Weichao's expression changed, and he said, "Everyone move closer, Xiaonan, you go to the middle."
I stood in the middle of everyone with Wu Shuang on my back. Pu Weichao and Shen Dian both had guns, and Ke Jiamin followed behind me with a knife.
We stood still and didn't move forward. Only when the three monsters got closer did Pu Weichao and Shen Dian make their move.
The two men acted swiftly, without firing a shot, instead smashing the heads of the three monsters with the butts of their guns.
"Let's go, there's no danger from here on out," Pu Weichao said.
"Aww!"
Just as he finished speaking, a roar suddenly came from the jungle on the mountain. My expression changed, and I turned to stare at the jungle on the mountain.
A monster tumbled down from above, crashing onto the mountain path, breaking an arm in the process. But it still got up and roared at us incessantly.
Chen Jing decisively slashed him, severing his entire head, which rolled off the cliff.
But that's not all.
"Awooo!" The monster's roar came again from the mountain forest. The rustling sound was chilling. Clearly, many monsters were rolling down the mountain!
Pu Weichao and I exchanged a glance; neither of us looked pleased.
"Run!" Pu Weichao shouted.
We immediately ran forward; once we got past this section, we would be safe!
I carried Wu Shuang on my back and ran forward, with Ke Jiamin following closely behind. Pu Weichao and Shen Dian were waiting for us ahead.
Just then, I heard a thud behind me. Clearly, the monsters from the mountain had fallen onto the road. Upon seeing us, they bravely stood up and chased after us.
Pu Weichao and Shen Dian fired directly at the monsters' heads. Shen Dian was quite accurate, taking them down one by one with each shot. Pu Weichao, on the other hand, was untrained and took several shots to take down one of them.
Chen Jing said, "Don't waste bullets, run!"
"Alright, Brother Chen." Pu Weichao turned around and ran away decisively. Chen Sheng didn't hesitate either, and ran after Pu Weichao very fast.
I'm running in the lead now. The end of this road is just ahead. Once I pass the next corner, I'll be safe.
But in that instant, a monster suddenly darted out of the forest and appeared in front of me, forcing me to stop in my tracks!
"Awooo!" The monster roared, and without thinking, I backed away. But the monster came very fast, almost instantly in front of me, opening its mouth to bite me!
I instinctively let go of Wu Shuang and reached out to grab the monster's neck to stop its approaching mouth.
A foul stench emanated from the monster's face; it was extremely unpleasant.
The monster was much stronger than I had imagined. It kept pushing me back, and if I didn't block it now, it would bite me once I fell to the ground!
I gritted my teeth; I was still carrying Wu Shuang on my back!
No matter what, you can't die!
Wow!
In that instant, a knife sliced across the monster's neck.
The monster's head rolled off its shoulder in an instant, and as soon as the head hit the ground, the body in front of me lost all strength. I threw myself away, and the body fell to the ground along with its head.
I looked up and saw that it was Ke Jiamin who had saved me.
"Thank you," I said.
Ke Jiamin nodded blankly, seemingly still out of sorts.
"Are you alright?" Pu Weichao ran up and asked.
I hugged Wu Shuang's legs tighter again and shook my head, saying, "It's okay."
Pu Weichao nodded: "It's good that you're alright. Are you tired? If you are, I'll carry Wu Shuang on my back."
I shook my head and said, "It's okay, I'll take care of it."
Wu Shuang whispered in my ear, "If you're tired, don't push yourself. I don't want anything to happen to you."
I gave a wry smile. Actually, I was really exhausted. Looking at Pu Weichao, who was still persevering, I agreed, "Okay."
