Knocked on the door of this family.
The person who opened the door was a short and fat woman in her late 50s. She looked at the people outside curiously. When she saw the comrades from the Public Security Bureau, she felt nervous.
"Comrade Public Security, we are law-abiding citizens. Have you found the wrong person?"
"Is this Wang Danian's home?"
"yes!"
"That's right, I'm looking for Wang Danian."
"What's up?"
"Nothing, I just want to ask him about something that happened more than 20 years ago."
She leaned sideways to make way, then turned her head and shouted loudly inside.
"Old man."
A voice came from inside.
"What are you yelling about? I just got off my morning shift and you won't let me rest for a moment. You're yelling all day long. It never stops."
The woman was unhappy when she heard this and said, "It's not me who wants to call you. It's the Public Security Bureau who wants to see you."
"What? Why are the Public Security Bureau looking for me? I haven't done anything bad."
"Come out now! Who knows if you've done anything bad? We'll find out soon."
The public security officer immediately corrected her, saying, "Auntie, I didn't say Wang Danian had made any mistakes. I was just conducting a general investigation with him."
After hearing what he said, the woman's expression became much better than before. She quickly said, "Oh, so that's how it is. Please come in. I'll go in and call him."
As soon as they stepped through the door, they discovered that it was a large courtyard with other people living there. There were so many things piled up everywhere that there was almost no place to step.
A group of people followed her cautiously, step by step, as if they were afraid of waking up something unknown.
