“I asked you before, but you wouldn’t say anything. Something’s not right. Something’s very, very wrong.”
I raised my hand and flicked Jiangxi Xi on the forehead:
"Okay, I'll let you know when the time comes, but it's really not possible now."
Jiangxi Xi pouted and pounced on me, pinning me to the bed.
"You dare flick my forehead? What if you make me stupid?!"
"Watch me tickle you like crazy~~~"
I kept resisting:
"You're pretty silly to begin with, hahaha, stop it~~ stop tickling me~~ I give up~ hahaha."
Jiangxi Xi had a wicked look on her face, and at the same time made a victory sign:
"Hey~ See if you dare call me stupid again, huh!"
As I watched Jiangxi Xi's smug expression, my thoughts kept wandering, and I couldn't help but think of that dream again.
It was about two weeks ago, one night
"don't want!"
I gasped and suddenly sat up in bed in my school dormitory, my forehead covered in cold sweat!
His pajamas were soaked with cold sweat from his back.
At that moment, my palms were ice-cold and my heart was pounding!
No matter how deep I take a breath, I can't calm myself down.
I sat quietly, gripping the blanket tightly with both hands, afraid that if I let go, I would be back in that terrifying dream.
I reached for the water glass by the bed and gulped down a large mouthful of water.
Touching my wildly beating heart, I gradually tried to regulate my breathing.
About ten minutes later, my heartbeat returned to normal, and my breathing gradually became even.
But I still couldn't come to my senses for a long time.
This nightmare was terrifying! So terrifying that I don't even know how to face it.
I kept telling myself: It's okay, it's all a dream, it's all fake.
I must be under too much stress lately, that's why I'm having nightmares.
For this reason, I lost the will to lie down and sleep, so I decided to watch some short videos.
Soon, it was dawn.
I woke up as usual and completed my lessons for the day.
I'm studying economics and management, and in the morning, I only have one class in professional English.
Listening to the teacher's standard British accent gradually put me into a learning state.
As I delved deeper into my studies, I gradually forgot about the dream.
After a day of classes, I returned to my dorm and ordered a bowl of Crossing-the-Bridge Rice Noodles for dinner.
As usual, I joked and chatted with my roommates, and slowly the sky darkened again, and it was night once more.
To be honest, at this point I was a little afraid to go to sleep.
I'm afraid that if I close my eyes, I'll dream of that terrible scene again.
In the end, I gritted my teeth, lay down on the pillow, and fell asleep.
As the night passed, I didn't have any nightmares, which gradually put my mind at ease.
"Was it just a coincidental dream? Haha, it seems I've really been too tired lately."
"It's time to set a time to go shopping in Xixi."
I muttered to myself and even stretched, pretending to relax.
And so I stopped paying attention to that dream. Life went back to normal: going to class, leaving get out of class, eating, sleeping...
"No...no!"
"Ah~~ Ah-hoo!~~"
Yes, I had another nightmare, the same thing that happened the other day.
The dream was so realistic that I couldn't believe it; their expressions were as if their souls had been ripped out.
I felt so powerless; I could only watch helplessly.
Having the same nightmare twice in a row forced me to take this matter seriously.
I just stood there, stunned, not knowing how long I sat in that position on the bed.
As soon as it was light, I called my advisor to ask for leave.
I slung my bag over my shoulder, left the school, and found a nearby hospital.
I registered for a neurology appointment and waited in the waiting room for the doctor to see me.
"Patient No. 56, please proceed to examination room No. 4!"
"Patient No. 56, please proceed to examination room No. 4!"
I glanced at the number on my hand: 56.
He sat up from the chair and walked toward the consultation room.
When I got there, I explained the situation to the doctor:
"Doctor, I've had nightmares for the past two nights, and the dreams are about the same thing."
"It's making it hard for me to concentrate on my studies lately, and I'm even afraid to sleep now."
The doctor looked at me and took my pulse: "What kind of dream was it?"
I instinctively opened my mouth, about to answer:
"I...I'm sorry, doctor, I can't say it. I'm sorry."
The doctor listened to what I said and waved his hand:
"It's okay, it's fine if you don't want to talk about it."
"I checked your pulse; you are just a little weak, but there's nothing seriously wrong."
"Let's do a brain scan later, as we can't rule out any underlying risks."
I nodded, paid the money, and prepared to go for the checkup.
More than an hour later...
The doctor, holding the test results, said, "The test results are all normal; you are very healthy."
"It's probably because you're too stressed. I'll prescribe some calming and sleep-inducing medication for you. Take it on time."
"It should be fine after a while."
I wanted to say something, but in the end I just nodded, took the prescription, and went to get the medicine.
As I left the hospital, I looked at the long bill in my hand and gave a bitter smile.
No wonder people say that hospitals are the biggest luxury stores.
In just one morning, I spent nearly four thousand yuan.
However, I was not at ease because of this.
