Chapter 160 I'm Not Here to Deliver Gifts

Upon hearing Lu Yuan's words, Gu Tong's face lit up with joy, and she quickly nodded.

"Of course, of course, no problem! Just tell me, and I'll do anything I can!"

Lu Yuan nodded, then pointed to some lists on the table and said, "Get me some more confidential lists. I need these lists, preferably as detailed as possible. Tell me their addresses, previous contact information, and information about their families. I need this list!"

The other party quickly nodded, and then said about some unfinished lists on the table: "These are some files that I pulled out from the personnel bureau's archives. These files haven't been screened yet, but the ones that have been applied for are in the unit. I'll try to find a way to get them for you when I go to work these next few nights."

However, it will take a few days, because the files being processed these past few days are mostly about wealthy individuals, while the researchers' files may not be processed until tomorrow.

Lu Yuan nodded, then explained a few more things to the other person before leaving the room. However, before leaving, Lu Yuan couldn't help but glance into the bedroom of the small room, only to see a little girl blinking at him in the dark. As if sensing that Lu Yuan had discovered her, the little girl was so frightened that she quickly lay down on the bed.

Back at his place, Lu Yuan still couldn't sleep all night. It was incredibly damp, the bed was extremely hard, and the room was filled with a musty smell that made it hard for him to breathe. But there was no other way; if he wanted to resolve the conflict with that woman called Sister Xia, he would have to stay for a few days.

The next morning, the middle-aged man indeed approached Lu Yuan. After seeing that Lu Yuan had filled in "cousin", he glanced at him briefly, said nothing, and led Lu Yuan into a building.

After a thorough inspection in front of the building, the two guards, seeing the two chickens Lu Yuan was carrying, swallowed hard before letting him in.

After Lu Yuan handed over the file, several men in white coats came in and led Lu Yuan to the fifth floor.

As soon as Lu Yuan entered the fifth floor, he saw that the lobby had been divided into small rooms, each labeled with a different office. The tasks in each office were different; some were about the research and development of new equipment, while others were about the manufacturing of special materials. In short, they were all researchers.

However, one of the signs caught Lu Yuan's attention: the research and development of new materials. This was exactly the kind of talent he needed, and the talent he needed most right now. If he could take all the people in there out, then the raw materials for his new materials would come in handy.

Lu Yuan glanced into the room discreetly but didn't see anyone inside.

Following the man in the white coat, we arrived at an office with a sign that read "Bloodthirsty Black Beetle Defense Research and Development Office."

After escorting Lu Yuan to the office door, the doctor in the white coat left. Lu Yuan, carrying two chickens, gently knocked on the door, and a deep voice came from inside.

"Come in!"

Lu Yuan gently pushed open the door and went inside. In front of him was a large desk, behind which sat a man with a cheap cigarette dangling from his mouth, puffing away while looking at the documents in his hand. He didn't even turn his head when he heard Lu Yuan arrive.

Lu Yuan stood in front of the desk for about two minutes before the other person finally stubbed out his cigarette, adjusted his glasses, and looked up at Lu Yuan.

"You're Lu Yuan? The file says you developed a method to deal with the Bloodthirsty Black Beetles?"

Lu Yuan nodded and said, "Yes, I have found a way now!"

The other party smiled but didn't say much. However, he was a little surprised when he saw that Lu Yuan was carrying two chickens. Then he pointed at the two chickens and asked, "Kid, if you think you can pass my interview by giving gifts here, you're mistaken!"

Lu Yuan cursed inwardly. Why were so many people staring at his two chickens? Didn't they realize that these two chickens were the key to eradicating the bloodthirsty black beetles?

"Hmm, it seems you've got it wrong. My method is to use these two chickens to breed offspring that will wipe out the Bloodthirsty Black Beetles!"

Upon hearing this, the other person's face tightened immediately. He then stood up abruptly from his seat, quickly walked over to Lu Yuan, and bent down to examine the two chickens in Lu Yuan's hands. However, he found that these two chickens were not much different from the others. If there was any difference, it was only that these two chickens looked stronger and more docile.

"You mean those two chickens eat bloodthirsty black beetles?"

Lu Yuan nodded.

The man thought for a moment, then clapped his hands. A young man in his early twenties walked out of the door and respectfully said to the man, "Professor Wang, you wanted to see me!"

The middle-aged man nodded, then pointed at Lu Yuan and said, "He said these two chickens he has can eat bloodthirsty black beetles. Go outside right now and collect some live bloodthirsty black beetles for me. I want to use them for experiments!"

The young man's face immediately showed a hint of surprise. When he saw that Lu Yuan was carrying two chickens, he glanced at them briefly and then turned to leave. Not long after, the other man came in carrying a huge glass box.

"Professor Wang, there are probably over a thousand bloodthirsty black beetles here, that should be enough!"
