"Forget it, Boss Lu doesn't want to get involved in anything anymore. Besides, isn't our camp self-managed?"
Someone said something that made everyone unsure whether to tell Lu Yuan or not. They knew that Lu Yuan had resigned last time because he had worried too much. Although the camp seemed harmonious now, whenever a problem arose, they still needed an important person to solve it. Fortunately, they didn't rely on Lu Yuan as much anymore.
"How about we have an internal meeting to see how to handle this? We can't keep asking Boss Lu about everything. What if he doesn't have this idea anymore? We'll be in a very passive position."
"Alright, let's go find some of the leaders and see what they think about this matter."
"What about the people outside?"
After a moment of contemplation, everyone suddenly thought of that person.
“This man is a traitor from the West District. He will become a traitor in our camp as well. Why should we be polite to someone who dares to be a fence-sitter? We don’t need to open the door. Let him stay outside.”
Finally, everyone reached a consensus and decided not to let the other party in, ignoring their constant banging on the door from the outside, but no one helped to open it.
The cold wind howled, and the thin man collapsed silently outside the door as if all his strength had been exhausted, his face full of anger. He couldn't believe that these people had managed to extract information from him but were not keeping their promises.
After staying in the room for a long time, Lu Yuan felt uncomfortable all over and always wanted to go out and move around.
Although it was cold outside, he preferred to go out for some fresh air rather than stay at home. However, as soon as he stepped out the door, his grandmother pulled him back inside.
"Xiao Yuan, it's so cold outside, don't go out. Stay home. We're going to make dumplings tonight. You and Xiao Shan can come and help out. Let's make the filling and wrap the dumplings tonight and have a good meal."
Seeing his grandmother's words, Lu Yuan had no choice but to stop, close the door, and return to his room.
Zhou Tong had been in the room for quite a while. His cave wasn't very big, so it often leaked air, which his younger sister Zhou Chen had complained about more than once.
"Alright, alright, I got it. I'll go seal the door right away. Can you hold on a little longer?"
Hearing his brother say that, Zhou Chen finally showed a satisfied look on his face. He even thought about going to Fengmen with his brother, but Zhou Tong refused him.
Braving the cold wind, Zhou Tong used a wooden board to patch up the gaps in the doorway bit by bit. After more than ten minutes, the leak was completely repaired. Looking at the new door, Zhou Tong nodded in satisfaction. Just as he was about to enter the room, he caught a glimpse of a person lying outside the gate of the East District.
"Hey, why are people coming to the East District in this freezing weather? Don't the people inside know what's going on in there?"
As he spoke, Zhou Tong took a step and walked over there. Only today did he discover a thin young man lying outside, his body frozen purple.
"Brother, wake up." Zhou Tong gently patted the young man's cheek, but the man seemed to have fainted from the cold.
"Damn it, if this keeps up, he might freeze to death. Oh well, let's take him back first."
So Zhou Tong tightened the other person's clothes, carried them on his back, and took them back to his residence.
The brother and sister moved each other as close to the fire as possible to keep warm, and after a while, the other person slowly woke up.
"Where...where am I?"
The young man looked out with half-open eyes and found that the surrounding environment was not quite what he had imagined, so he asked a question.
"Have some hot water. This is my place. Why are you lying outside the East District?" Zhou Tong said, supporting the other person's back and handing them a cup of hot tea.
A look of gratitude appeared on the young man's face. He took the hot tea and held it in his hands, slowly letting his fingers regain their sensation.
"I have something to tell Boss Lu. You...you're Brother Zhou? It really is you! That's great!"
Only then did the other party see Zhou Tong's face clearly, and they were immediately filled with excitement.
"Oh, are you from the West End?"
The young man nodded quickly: "Yes, I'm from the West District. My name is Zhu Ping. I don't know if Brother Zhou still remembers me. I used to work in your security team for a while."
Zhou Tong scratched his head, still unable to recall the other person's name. He had led far too many people, and that period was a busy time, so he basically couldn't recognize every one of his team members.
"Oh, it's you. What do you need Boss Lu for?"
So the other party quickly told Zhou Tong what they knew, and Zhou Tong and his sister were immediately shocked after hearing it.
"Is what you're saying true? If it is, then this is a very serious matter."
"Really, everything I said is true. I heard it with my own ears. You should go and inform Boss Lu right away."
Zhou Tong nodded slightly upon hearing this, but then he thought of something else and quickly asked.
"Then why did you tell the people in the East District about this, but they didn't let you in?"
The young man shook his head with a bitter expression: "Maybe he thinks I came from the West District."
Zhou Tong's expression changed, but he thought to himself, "It seems these guys have completely gotten used to their own lives. But that's fine too. Everyone can live according to their own abilities, so we don't have to make things difficult for each other anymore."
