Chapter 416 Telling the Truth

Gu Wenzhong quickly left with his notebook. After glancing at the group, he immediately understood. The group was now standing far apart. Apart from the eight people who were making sarcastic remarks and standing in a group, only Lu Yuan and Liu Dafa were standing together.

"They're already resorting to these petty tricks as soon as they arrive, really! Oh well, let them make a fuss over it. Anyway, once the fourth phase of the project is completed, I'll be able to move into the middle management."

Thinking of this, Gu Wenzhong coughed lightly to indicate that he had arrived. The other people who had been making sarcastic remarks immediately stopped talking and looked at him seriously.

"I've already applied for your items. Here are your number tags. Take these tags to the warehouse in a bit. Remember, each group can only send a maximum of five people to avoid taking things randomly, understand? There are cameras everywhere in here. Don't try to take advantage of others. If you get caught, your own supplies will be confiscated. Don't think you can escape these surveillance eyes."

As he spoke, Gu Wenzhong pointed to the flashing little red light above his head.

Several people swarmed around Gu Wenzhong with smiles and began to flatter him, while Lu Yuan remained standing in place, took the number plate, and simply smiled politely at the other person. Gu Wenzhong didn't say anything and continued to follow the next person.

Back at their respective camps, Lu Yuan glanced at the people waiting for him while holding his number tag.

“Five of us, let’s go get our tents. Xiaoshan, you and your people go wait for us here. We’ll set up the tents and distribute our clothes, daily necessities, and food in a bit.”

Xiao Shan nodded, while Zhou Tong picked out five people from the crowd to follow behind Lu Yuan.

As Lu Yuan led his men to the warehouse, the other teams were chatting idly. They couldn't help but show a hint of surprise when they saw Lu Yuan bringing his men.

"Good heavens, have they never gone hungry in their camp? How come they're all so well-preserved?"

"Sigh, I guess it's just a bunch of nouveau riche who don't have any real ability, but they've managed to get by because they have a lot of money in their families."

"I'm so envious, but now we're in the same boat. Hmph, I bet they'll be the first to break down when they find out about this inhuman food and inhuman living conditions."

Amidst the laughter and sarcastic remarks from the crowd, Xiwen, standing beside Lu Yuan, couldn't take it anymore. He glared angrily at them.

"What the hell are you talking about? Believe me or not, I'll beat you up."

However, taking advantage of the clear rule against fighting, the other party brazenly made faces at Xiwen.

"Oh! This rich kid is angry! Look! Oh dear! He's angry."

"Haha, they can't even stand saying this much, how are they supposed to endure hardship? Seriously, I can already imagine how they'll suffer in the future."

"Yeah, he won't dare to hit. Come on, hit him! Hit him this way! After you're done, your whole squad will be fired."

Xiwen gritted his teeth in anger, barely able to contain his rage, but Lu Yuan pulled him over.

"Forget it, don't bother with these bastards. Just live our own lives well. As long as we're doing well, let them be envious. Why get angry with them? It's not worth it."

"But they've gone too far. I can't get over this without teaching them a lesson."

"Haha, it's okay. If a dog bites you, are you going to fight back? Let them talk and see who gives in first."

Zhou Tong nodded silently to the side, while Shi Quan had already quietly reached for the wrench in his hand, waiting for the other party to make a move so that he would immediately swing his wrench and smash the other party's head until it bled.

Seeing that Lu Yuan and his group hadn't fallen for the trick, the group could only sigh and enter the warehouse.

Lu Yuan led Xiwen and the others to the warehouse manager with their wristbands. The manager looked at the numbers on the wristbands and then pointed to the people rummaging through the garbage hill in the distance.

"Go find him; he's in charge of distributing your items."

Lu Yuan nodded, took the card, and led a few people closer.

The person on that small hill was constantly throwing things down. Some fragile items were in his hands, thrown directly from the height, and smashed into pieces on the ground.

Meanwhile, the other person was completely oblivious, rummaging through things as he went. Sometimes, when he saw something valuable, he would carelessly stuff it into his pocket. Sometimes, he would even find a pack of cigarettes or a half-empty bottle of liquor, which he would also take without hesitation, put in his pocket, light one up, and have a sip of liquor as a reward for his work.

Lu Yuan and the others looked at each other, speechless as they watched the person keep throwing things down. Lu Yuan even wanted to leave this stinking, garbage-dump-like warehouse.

Seeing that the other person was still busy, Lu Yuan couldn't help but call out.

"Sir, we're here to collect our belongings."

The other person stubbed out their cigarette and glanced down.

"Oh, wait a minute."

After saying that, they continued rummaging through the items inside. A backpack caught their eye, and Lu Yuan immediately recognized it as his own. The other person unceremoniously unzipped the backpack, causing some vacuum-sealed meat to spill out.

A hint of surprise flashed in his eyes, and he stuffed everything into his pocket like a precious treasure. Since he had very few pockets, he could only throw away all the trash he had just found and stuff everything from Lu Yuan's backpack into his own pocket, patting his bulging chest with satisfaction.
