When they finished eating, Xiaolan hummed a tune, her face full of smiles.
Uncle Mori didn't come back when he was eating; he said he was treated to dinner by someone and ate out.
On the table, Xiaolan smiled and said to Guangyou, "Guangyou, have Ayumi and the others come over tomorrow. I made chocolates for them."
Guangyou nodded and agreed.
Seeing Ran's smile, Conan's mood improved considerably.
The atmosphere at the dinner table was very pleasant. After finishing the meal, Xiaolan hummed a song as she went to clear the table.
"That's great, you've improved a lot this time."
Kōyū looked at Conan and nodded: "You are a promising young man."
Conan rolled his eyes at him and looked towards the kitchen: "Actually, I'm already thinking about whether or not to make her give up on me."
"I don't know when I can change back, and it's not a solution to keep Xiaolan waiting like this."
Conan gave a bitter laugh, his tone tinged with resentment: "I don't want to see Ran shed tears for someone like me anymore."
Guangyou understood his feelings and patted him on the shoulder to comfort him, "Don't worry, these days won't last long."
After hesitating for a moment, Kōyū said to Conan, "The antidote for Ai hasn't been developed yet, but there should still be a temporary one. The current goal is to minimize your resistance to the drug, so that you might be able to see Ran more often."
After thinking for a moment, Conan suddenly understood and nodded: "As long as the drug resistance is reduced, it's fine if the time is shorter. Just let me go out a few more times as Shinichi."
Guangyou smiled, patted him on the shoulder, said nothing, and turned to go back to his room.
It's good that he's figured it out; these are things he has to figure out for himself.
However, Kōyū knew that although Conan said this, he couldn't truly let it go immediately.
As he expected, after Kōyū returned to his room, Conan looked at the kitchen, heard Ran humming a song in his ear, and his eyes darted around, lost in thought.
The following day, Professor Agasa brought Ai, Ayumi, and the others to the agency.
Xiaolan made chocolates shaped like the faces of several people, so you could tell at a glance which chocolate belonged to whom.
"It looks so realistic."
Ayumi held her chocolate and praised it with a smile.
Genta picked up his chocolate, tilted his head, and asked, "Can we really take the chocolate with us?"
"Of course, otherwise why would I make chocolates based on your faces? And since I've invited you all here, don't be shy, try my chocolates and see how they taste."
Xiaolan smiled and said, "I'll go make some black tea. You guys wait here for a bit."
A child's happiness is simple; perhaps just a piece of chocolate is enough.
Ayumi and the others laughed happily.
Ai looked somewhat uneasy.
How does it taste?
She moved closer to Guangyou and asked in a low voice.
Guangyou glanced at her and said with a smile, "It tastes pretty good, but..."
Then he leaned close to Ai's ear and said something.
Ai's earlobes turned red instantly, and she nodded slightly.
Ai Haibara had never acted like this before, and Conan, curious, wanted to ask Kousuke what he had said.
As a result, he was forced to back down with a glare from Guangyou.
The chocolate tasted great, and Genta and the others praised Ran's skills using sentences they had learned.
"It's so delicious, much better than anything you can get outside."
Genta already had obvious chocolate stains around his mouth, but he didn't care at all and continued to eat chocolate with his head down.
"Cough cough."
Uncle Mori suddenly coughed a few times and said to the group, "Can you guys be a little quieter? I can't concentrate on my work."
"Sorry, sorry, we'll be leaving soon."
Dr. Agasa quickly said to Uncle Mori.
Genta glanced at Uncle Mori, who was wearing earplugs, and then carefully confirmed that the table was empty.
Looking up at Uncle Mori, she asked doubtfully, "Uncle, are you really working?"
"I heard you sleep almost every day."
Uncle Mori pointed to the earpiece and said righteously, "Nonsense, I'm listening to a client's tape right now."
"Alright, now all the horses have charged out!"
The moment the words were spoken, the scene became quite awkward.
Even though Uncle Mori turned off the player, Mitsuhiko still said the last thing Uncle Mori wanted to hear.
"This is a horse race, isn't it?"
Just as Uncle Mori was thinking about how to save face, the doorbell rang.
"Hey kid, did you see that? A customer's just arrived."
Uncle Mori looked at Genta and the others with a smug expression, then got up and walked past them to open the door for the people outside.
When the door opened, the man who rang the doorbell said he wanted Uncle Mori to help him find a watch.
"Come in."
Uncle Mori, with a sullen face, prepared to take on the case, thinking it was better than nothing.
After sitting down, the man introduced himself.
"My name is Hideo Masada. I've come here mainly to ask you to help me find a watch. It's an old-fashioned wind-up watch left by my deceased wife."
As they talked, this guy even brought up supernatural things like dreaming.
Uncle Mori was ready to take the case, but then he heard the guy explain that he had just left it at home and didn't know where it was.
The fire started burning immediately.
"I'm the famous detective Kogoro Mouri! I don't have time for such trivial matters!"
Upon hearing Uncle Mori's name, Hideo Masada was shocked and a little flustered.
