Teitan Elementary School, Grade 1-B
Guangyou walked into the classroom with a puzzled look on his face.
He usually goes to pick up Ai in the morning, but he didn't pick her up today.
In the past, Kousuke learned from Professor Agasa that Ai had already gone to school.
As soon as he entered, Kōyū saw Ai sitting in a seat reading a book.
The elementary school students in the neighborhood gathered in a group to chat early in the morning, either about their homework or the TV programs they watched last night.
Only Ai was completely different from the others; at a glance, she was the only one reading a book.
"Good morning, Ai!"
Kōyū put down his backpack and greeted Ai.
Ai didn't look up, but gave a soft "hmm" in response.
Although Guangyou didn't know why, he was sure she had her reasons, and he wouldn't press her for answers.
He shrugged and turned to prepare the books he would need for class later.
Seeing that Kōyū didn't press the matter, Ai, who was looking down at her book, breathed a sigh of relief.
Every time she thinks about what happened last night, she can't help but blush.
After thinking it over, she decided to take a break and allow herself some time to adjust.
She hadn't read much of the book this morning; she'd been looking at this page for ten minutes already, afraid that Guangyou would come over and talk about what happened last night.
However, what relieved her was that Guangyou didn't mention what happened last night. He acted as usual, as if nothing had happened.
Thinking about this, she felt a little conflicted again.
Is he the kind of person who forgets things as soon as they happen?
What is he thinking right now?
...
It has to be said that it's hard for anyone to understand a young girl's thoughts. I was just relieved, but now I'm agonizing over these things again.
Kōyū knew this too, so he didn't bother to ask. He also knew how daring Ai's actions last night were to her.
"Weren't you supposed to have a great harvest? How come you're like this now?"
Normally at this time, Mitsuyu would definitely sidle up to Ai and find something to talk about, but he didn't today, which puzzled Conan.
Kōyū glanced at Conan, a slight, disdainful smile playing on his lips, then shook his head without offering any explanation.
It's best to keep Conan in the dark about this.
The school day passed quickly, and the whole day was relatively peaceful except for Guangyou being called out to stand as punishment for being distracted in class.
It's understandable that he was distracted; what happened last night left a very deep impression on him.
When school ended, Ai didn't leave first; she just kept her head down and remained silent all the way home.
After dropping Ai off, Kouyu and Conan went straight back to the agency.
Ayumi and the others originally wanted to play some kind of detective game, but the two of them simply said they had other things to do.
Who knows if Conan will actually make it come true when he goes over there later?
It's better to avoid trouble. Why go out and see dead people when you can stay home and watch TV?
There were more classes today than yesterday, but Guangyou still felt it was too few.
When we got back, the sun was still hanging high in the sky, showing no sign of setting the day.
"I'm back!"
Kōyū and Conan pushed open the door to the agency and went inside.
Welcome back.
Uncle Mori, holding a newspaper, propped his feet up on the desk and casually gave a reply.
To be fair, this is something most Chinese families should learn from.
When they come back, they always call out to each other, which adds a touch of warmth to the home.
It's better than coming back, going straight into your room, locking it, leaving your bag, and turning on your computer.
"Hasn't Sister Xiaolan come back yet?"
Guangyou put down his schoolbag and turned on the TV.
He finished his homework at school today, so he had plenty of time.
"She just called to say she won't be home for dinner tonight, so the rest of us will have to make do with instant noodles."
Uncle Mori put down his feet and prepared to check if he had any instant noodles left at home.
"I'm back!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Xiaolan excitedly pushed open the door and ran in.
"Xiao Lan, didn't you say you weren't coming home for dinner tonight?"
Uncle Mori stopped what he was doing and asked curiously.
Ran pulled four coupon-like items out of her pocket and said with a smile, "I went to the supermarket with Sonoko just now, and I won a voucher for this restaurant in Yokohama's Chinatown in Kanagawa Prefecture!"
Uncle Mori waved his hand dismissively, "So that's all? Even Guangyou's is better."
"No matter what you order, it's all free."
As soon as Xiaolan finished speaking, Uncle Mori's attitude changed instantly.
"Kanagawa Prefecture isn't far. Since we've already drawn these, we can't waste them. We need to hurry up and have a big meal!"
Uncle Mori stroked his chin and said in a serious tone.
Guangyou wiped non-existent sweat from his head, and Uncle Maoli changed his expression like a Sichuan opera face-changing act.
"Let's go, let's go eat!"
Uncle Mori took the invitation ticket, stuffed it into his pocket without even looking at it, picked up the car keys on the table, and called out to the group, "I'll go get the car first, you guys hurry up and follow me."
Not only Mitsuyu, but Conan and Ran also wiped the sweat from their brows.
"Dad gets excited as soon as he hears it's free."
Ran shrugged helplessly, turned and walked upstairs, saying, "I'm going to change my clothes. Conan, you two go downstairs first."
"oh."
Kōyū turned off the TV, stood up from the sofa, stretched, went upstairs to get some things, and then went downstairs with Conan.
When Kōyū and Conan went downstairs, Uncle Mori had already driven his car to the door.
