Chapter 37 She's Here

Conan, who had caught up with the explosion, naturally noticed it. Concerned for Akemi, he rushed to the warehouse. Seeing the warehouse reduced to ruins, Conan knelt down and slammed his fist into the ground: "Damn it, that Crow Organization!!!"

Let's go back in time.

When Conan realized something was wrong, he went straight to Akemi's place.

At Mingmei's place, he found a note that Mingmei had left for him, which told him about the winery's plans. Concerned for Mingmei's safety, he rushed over there.

...

After venting for a while, Conan glanced at the warehouse, which was now a ruin.

The scorching flames lashed Conan's cheeks, but his expression remained unchanged as he made a call with a composed demeanor: "Please have Inspector Megure of the First Investigation Division answer the phone..."

...

Kōyū took Akemi to an apartment and said to her, "You'll stay here for now. Your current identity is in the room. Don't go out for the time being!"

Mingmei responded with a thank you, saying, "Thank you, but please keep an eye on my sister!"

Guangyou nodded and left.

...

Back at the agency, Conan was furious. He said to Mitsuyu, "Mitsuyu! That Crow Organization is despicable! Akemi was...!"

Mitsuyu interrupted, "Akemi is alright!"

Conan was momentarily confused: "Huh?"

Kwang-woo explained, "Didn't I say I was going to do something very important today? That's it!"

Conan grabbed Mitsuyu's shoulder urgently: "Where is Akemi now?!"

"You don't need to know that."

Conan pleaded and begged all night, but Mitsuyu still couldn't tell him where Akemi was.

Even on the second day at school, Conan was still looking at Kōyū with a resentful gaze. Although Kōyū felt awkward, he still didn't tell Conan.

Upon arriving at the classroom, Ayumi announced to everyone, "Have you heard? Another transfer student is coming today!"

Genta said, "Really?"

Mitsuhiko exclaimed, "There haven't been any transfer students since Mitsuyu and Conan! Is one coming today?"

Ayumi held her hands in a prayer position: "I wonder what kind of person he is!"

Genta raised an eyebrow: "It would be great if it were a cute girl!"

Mitsuhiko shook his finger: "Whether it's a man or a woman, the most important thing is whether they have a good personality!"

Kwang-woo took several deep breaths, trying to calm himself down.

Conan looked at Kōyū's childish expression and said, "This is the first time I've ever seen you with that kind of expression!"

Kōyū glanced at Conan: "You don't know anything!"

Genta asked, "Ayumi, didn't you see him in the faculty office?"

Ayumi nodded: "Yes, I only heard his name. His name is Haibara, which means gray and grassland!"

Upon hearing this, Genta exclaimed, "Haibara, what a strange surname!"

"Ring ring~"

The bell rang for class soon after, and Kobayashi Sumiko walked in with a girl.

All the children in the class exclaimed in admiration, "So cute!"

Guangyou's heart was filled with increasingly turmoil: It was her, it was her!

As he was thinking, Guangyou almost sang the last line about Nezha, but thankfully he managed to hold back.

Conan couldn't help but purse his lips when he saw Kōyū's expression.

Kobayashi Sumiko wrote three words on the blackboard, which were of course Ai's name—Haibara Ai!

Kwangyu took a deep breath

Conan patted Kōyū on the shoulder: "Are you alright?"

Kōyū shook his head, then nodded, which puzzled Conan: "What do you mean?"

Guangyou didn't explain, because even if he did, he wouldn't be able to explain it clearly.

Guangyou's eyes widened: finally, she appeared in front of him, her brown hair shimmering with a hint of reddish-brown in the sunlight, and her icy blue eyes like the most beautiful gems.

That sight made Guangyou's heart pound faster.

Genta offered to let Ai sit next to him, but Ai didn't respond and walked in that direction. However, to Genta's dismay, Ai walked right past him and sat down next to Conan. After taking out her book, she said to Conan, "Nice to meet you."

The four short words conveyed a cold indifference that kept strangers at bay. Kōyū was not surprised that Ai was sitting next to Conan, because Ai did not know Kōyū, but she was more familiar with Conan.

Happy times always seem to fly by, and Guangyou never has enough time!

Throughout the entire class, Guangyou's attention was not on the blackboard.

Ai walked alone down the corridor with her head down. Ayumi called out, "Haibara-san! Haibara-san! Shall we go back together?"

Ai didn't respond at all and silently continued walking forward. Genta curled his lip and said, "Tch, what's with the airs!"

Kōyū curled his lip, inwardly thinking, "What does a kid like you know? All you know is your eel rice... tsk."

Ayumi and the others didn't give up and caught up with Ai. Mitsuhiko asked, "Excuse me, where do you live? You must have just moved here, right?"

Ai was silent for a moment, then said, "2-22 Beikacho, that's where I live now."

Conan was puzzled when he heard this. He thought to himself: If she lives there, it should be near my house, but there are no people with the surname Haibara nearby.

Sensing something, Haibara gave Conan a meaningful smile.

Conan stood there, slightly stunned, the address he had just seen seemed strangely familiar.

Kōyū kicked Conan, who was standing there dumbfounded: "Hurry up! Stop dawdling!"
