Chapter 383 Miwako, a chronic procrastinator

The next morning, when the sunlight shone on Guangyou's face through the glass window, when the rooster crowed... when the alarm clock rang, Guangyou opened his eyes.

He didn't drink much, only two or three cans, not enough to get drunk, so naturally those aftereffects had nothing to do with Guangyou.

After getting out of bed, Kōyū put on his clothes and went to the study. In the study, Miwako was still asleep, slumped over the table.

He didn't mean to let Miwako sleep here, but if he dragged her to the bed, he would definitely wake her up.

People are more relaxed when they are asleep, and Miwako needs to relax right now, so Miyu can only make her sleep here for one night.

After writing a note to go to the restaurant and placing it next to Miwako, Kōyū quietly closed the door and went to Professor Agasa's house next door.

A few minutes later, Kōyū successfully tricked Professor Agasa into giving him two eggs and a few slices of bread, which were just enough for breakfast.

Yukiko can cook, and the kitchen is fully equipped. While frying eggs, Kousuke can also toast bread.

To keep up with the trend, Guangyou also brewed a steaming cup of instant coffee.

The egg wasn't fully cooked; the yolk was still runny. I took a bite of the fried egg, then a bite of toast. The moment the runny yolk mixed with the crumbs of bread made it feel like the perfect combination for breakfast.

After taking a sip of coffee, Guangyou's eyebrows furrowed tightly the next second. This time, he didn't add sugar or milk; he simply made a cup.

Although it was bitter, it was refreshing and could fight fatigue. Guangyou took a small sip and then put it aside to focus on eating fried eggs and bread.

Just as Kōyū finished eating, Miwako pushed open the door and walked in.

"You've come at the perfect time. The milk isn't too hot now, so it's just right to drink."

Guangyou was washing the dishes without turning around. He only stopped what he was doing temporarily and continued after hearing Miwako sit down in the chair.

Instead of making coffee for Miwako, he heated up a cup of milk.

The protein in milk can neutralize stomach acid, which can protect the stomach and intestines to some extent and reduce stomach discomfort after drinking alcohol. This is something that others told him during one of the few times he was drunk.

Miwako took a big gulp of milk. The warm milk flowed down her throat and into her stomach, and the cozy feeling made her feel extremely comfortable.

Guangyou asked, "Does your stomach feel much better now?"

"Hmm," Miwako responded, took a bite of her bread, and said, "It tastes good, that deserves encouragement."

Guangyou finished washing the dishes, turned around and sat back down at the table, saying, "It's alright, these are all relatively simple."

Miwako finished eating everything, then gulped down her milk, squinted her eyes, and said, "Thank you, Kousuke, for the breakfast."

"It's nothing."

Guangyou waved his hand, picked up the plate to wash it, but Miwako beat him to it, snatched the bowl, and went straight to the sink.

"I've already asked you to prepare breakfast, how can I let you wash these dishes?"

Miwako was humming a little tune, and seemed to be in a much better mood than last night.

"How can I let you wash it? Your hands are injured."

Kōyū got up, snatched the plates back from Miwako, and washed them at another sink.

Seeing this, Miwako smiled calmly and then sat back down in her chair.

After washing and putting away the dishes, Guangyou sat back down and continued to slowly enjoy his cup of bitter coffee.

Sitting opposite Kōyū, Miwako rested her chin on her hand and suddenly said with a touch of sadness, "Speaking of which, it's been a long time since a man has prepared breakfast for me."

"It will happen in the future, definitely." Guangyou also rested his chin on his hand, just like hers, and asked, "Have you thought it through?"

Miwako shook her head: "I've thought about it a bit more. His death in the line of duty did leave a deep shadow on me, and perhaps there were other feelings involved, as you mentioned."

"However, I can't quite put my finger on what it feels like."

Guangyou nodded and said, "It would be a miracle if you could explain feelings like that."

Miwako smiled and said, "That's true."

After one night, Miwako looked much better, and whether it was genuine or just an act, Mitsuyu was quite relieved.

Miwako suddenly clutched her head and said, "But how will Takagi respond to him? This is so annoying!"

Guangyou's heart skipped a beat, and he asked, "What are you hesitating about? Don't you like him?"

"No, that's not it. But I wouldn't say I like him right now, I just have a slight liking for him."

Miwako put her head on the table, closed her eyes, and said, "He's too honest. He does whatever you tell him to do. He lacks his own opinions."

“Everything else is pretty good. What touched me the most was that he almost lost his life to protect the handcuffs my dad left behind.”

Recalling that scene, a warm feeling also flowed through Miwako's heart.

“I was really surprised that he dared to do that yesterday.” Miwako straightened up and shook her head. “It’s a pity that your words had an effect, otherwise he probably wouldn’t have done such a thing.”

Kōyū gave a thumbs up: "That's impressive! It's already extremely rare for Takagi to say something like that. If I hadn't said it, we probably would have had to wait a long time."

“I’ve made up my mind, so let’s ignore it for now. He probably won’t come to ask me what I think.” Miwako rubbed her chin. “We’ll talk about this later.”

Kōyū twitched the corner of his mouth, thinking to himself, "It seems that Miwako has developed procrastination disorder."

"By the way, aren't you going to the Metropolitan Police Department today?"

The clock on the wall had struck eight o'clock. By all accounts, Miwako should be at work at the Metropolitan Police Department by now.
