The platform exploded again, the sound like a command, and a bullet seemed to pierce the sky as it whistled towards the figure about to fall off the platform.
Inspector Megure, struggling to hold onto the falling figure, cried out, "Sawaki Kohei, hold on tight to me!"
"Let me go!" Sawaki Kohei's eyes were filled with madness. "Let me die!"
Before he could even utter the word "death," a bullet struck his head, causing him to explode like a watermelon, splattering red and white matter all over Inspector Megure's face.
"I'll grant your wish." Kōyū neatly holstered his gun. "I can understand doing crazy things for the sake of dignity, but why would you be so reckless as to take an innocent person hostage?"
After all this happened, Inspector Megure and Shiratori, who was standing next to him, felt incredulous and a little angry that someone had killed a criminal right under their noses.
The platform was already extremely fragile and on the verge of collapse. Inspector Megure quickly let go of her hand, wiped it off casually, and boarded the helicopter.
Inspector Megure looked rather grim after boarding the plane. Conan noticed what appeared to be blood on Inspector Megure's face and asked, "Inspector Megure, what's the blood on your face?"
Speaking of this, Inspector Megure got angry: "Just now, someone shot Sawaki Kohei in the head from a distance."
"What?"
Conan was angry with Sawaki Kohei, but he believed that the matter should be handled by the law, so he did not attack Sawaki Kohei.
The helicopter had already taken off, and Inspector Megure was looking around to find the best spot to shoot when he spotted Kōyū running away into the distance.
Without hesitation, Inspector Megure gave the order: "Chase that black figure! Shiratori, notify the Metropolitan Police Department to apprehend him!"
By this time, Guangyou had reached the shore. He found a secluded corner, took off his robe and mask, put them in his guitar case, and left humming a song as if nothing had happened.
While strolling down the street, Kōyū saw a boy panting heavily in the outdoor area of a café. Kōyū sat down next to the boy and said, "Isn't this Kaito? Why are you looking so disheveled?"
Kaito looked up, glaring angrily at Kousuke: "What are you gloating about! It's all your fault!"
"Isn't this all because of you?" Guangyou shrugged, acting as if it had nothing to do with him. "You know, I remember you've used Qingzi to get to the scene many times, calling it a date, but actually you just wanted to make things easier for yourself. I hope you'll remember this time."
These words left Kaito stammering, unsure of what to say. After thinking for a while, Kaito sighed and said, "Indeed, it's my fault. I'll be more careful in the future."
Kaito reflected on himself and realized that, just as Mitsuyu had said, he hadn't genuinely asked Aoko out very often.
Kōyū got up to go back to the office. "Alright, I'm leaving now. Think about it yourself. Aoko has it tough too."
"Wait a minute," Kaito began, as if trying to say something to Kouyu, "I went to get the jewels last night..."
"That's called stealing."
Kaito didn't want to get bogged down in these minor details with Kouyu: "Okay, when I went to steal the jewel last night, I found that it had already been stolen. According to my investigation, it seems to have been taken by an organization called Dawn, which also seems to use animal codenames. Are they from the same organization as you?"
Guangyou shook his head: "I've heard of it, but I'm not one of them."
"Okay, I got it. Be careful in the future." Kaito also learned Kōyū's code name from him. When he discovered it last night, the first person he thought of was Kōyū.
Nodding, Guangyou slung his guitar bag over his shoulder and walked away thoughtfully.
Kaito, who remained in the open-air area, frowned: "I should make it up to Aoko later. I really should reflect on this."
