After several weeks of rest, Ran and Eri have both recovered. Apart from Uncle Mori, the remaining three from the agency came to Eri's house.
Eri Kisaki's home is very modern, clean, and tidy, which perfectly matches Eri Kisaki's personality.
Books about law can be found throughout the room, and you can pick one up and read it at any time.
Eri poured a glass of orange juice for everyone sitting on the sofa.
The two "children" drank orange juice, and Ran told Eri about the story that had happened before, and then revealed the truth of the incident as she herself had come to understand it.
"My dad fired the gun to protect the hostages!"
“Of course I know all that.” Eri Kisaki crossed her legs and said calmly, “Because if the hostage’s foot is injured, then the hostage is a burden to the prisoner.”
This surprised Xiaolan: "Mom, you knew that when you left Dad?"
“Of course, no matter what, Dad and I are husband and wife!” Eri replied matter-of-factly. “It’s only natural for a husband to protect his wife.”
"Then why did you leave back then, Mom?" Ran asked, puzzled. If Eri knew the truth, why did she still leave?
Fei Ying thought of something and frowned: "That person, it's all because that person said the food I cooked that night was terrible."
"My foot was hurting so much, but I still endured the pain to cook for him because I wanted to thank him. That guy is so insensitive!"
Thinking back to that night, Eri Kisaki got angry: "That day, after I finished cooking for him, he took one bite and then slammed his fist on the table and yelled at me: 'If I had known your cooking was so bad, I would have told you to go to bed earlier!'"
Eri Kisaki continued, "That's why we're separated."
After saying that, Eri Kisaki slammed her hand on the sofa, got up and went to the window: "Thinking about it now, it really gives me a headache! Your dad is such a blockhead!"
Upon learning the truth, Ran and Conan rolled their eyes. Ran thought to herself, "I think it'll be quite difficult for them to reconcile! And honestly, my mom's cooking is absolutely awful!"
Kōyū said to Eri, "Auntie Eri, didn't you say you were going to make something delicious for me?"
Eri turned around, somewhat surprised: "Kuangyou, do you really want to eat it?"
Seeing Kōyū nod, Eri Kisaki felt much better: "Okay, I'll go make it for you right away!"
Upon hearing Eri's words, Ran and Conan abruptly stopped what they were doing, cold sweat pouring down their foreheads.
Xiaolan looked at Guangyou and reminded him, "Guangyou, are you really going to eat this? My mom's cooking isn't very good."
Conan chimed in from the side, "Yeah, I want to live a long time!"
"Don't worry, you two!" Kwang-woo patted his chest confidently. "This time, I'll be instructing Aunt Eri on how to cook."
After saying that, Guangyou went into the kitchen.
Conan and Ran exchanged a glance, swallowed hard, and Ran said worriedly, "Conan, do you think we should leave first?"
"Trust Kōyū." Conan said awkwardly, biting his straw. "If he leaves, it would be too disrespectful to Auntie."
An hour had passed since Guangyou went inside, and the two people on the sofa outside were extremely restless, so they turned on the TV to try to distract themselves.
The noise from the kitchen grew quieter, while the two people outside became increasingly panicked.
Kōyū came out of the kitchen first, beckoning to Ran and Conan. Seeing their slow movements, Kōyū said to them, "Don't worry! Would I lie to you?"
Despite saying that, the two of them were still a little worried.
The two moved to the dining table and sat down. Eri had already cleared the table.
Looking at the golden-brown fried rice in the bowl and smelling the enticing aroma, the two swallowed again, exchanged a glance, and seemed to say, "It looks pretty good."
Eri, completely unaware of what the two were thinking, urged them expectantly, "Eat up, don't be shy, it's not easy for me to cook for you guys."
The two glanced at Guangyou, who was eating heartily, and with a look of grim determination, picked up their spoons and put a mouthful of fried rice into their mouths. To their surprise, it tasted pretty good.
Xiao Lan praised with a tone of relief that came from surviving, "Mom, what you made is delicious!"
Eri Kisaki was delighted, as this was the first time her cooking had been praised: "I'm glad you like it."
The fried rice wasn't actually that delicious; it was just average. But for Ran and Conan, it was already very tasty.
After finishing their meal amidst laughter and chatter, the three said goodbye to Eri Kisaki and left.
On the way, Xiaolan asked Guangyou curiously, "Guangyou, how did you teach him? He's improved so much!"
“Actually, Aunt Eri’s cooking is quite good.” Kōsuke also noticed this when he was teaching Eri. “Actually, Aunt Eri’s only weakness is in the seasoning.”
They chatted and laughed all the way back to the office. Guangyou collapsed onto the bed, deep in thought.
Since his last encounter with Kaito, Mitsuyu has frequently sought out Kaito and followed him on missions, hoping to encounter the organization called Dawn once again.
But after that last time, the organization seemed to have vanished without a trace, which left Guangyou feeling helpless.
Kōsuke contacted Asai Narumi, but also found no clues.
Conan pushed open the door and walked in. He saw Kōyū lying on the bed, deep in thought. He walked over to Kōyū and asked, "What are you thinking about?"
“Recently, another organization called Dawn has emerged.” Guangyou frowned as he pondered. “They use animal codenames and have only appeared twice so far, both times for the sake of gems.”
After hearing this, Conan also pondered, while Mitsuyu muttered to himself, "The gem... could it be related to that gem?"
After thinking for a while without any clue, Guangyou gave up, figuring he would encounter it again in the future anyway.
He patted Conan, who was deep in thought, and said, "Let's go to Dr. Agasa's house!"
The two then went to the doctor's house, and upon entering, they saw Ai sitting on the sofa flipping through a fashion magazine.
Ai didn't even look up when she heard the voice: "What are you doing here?"
Seeing that Ai had returned to her usual self, Kōyū felt that his decision back then was quite correct.
"I've come to invite you to the movies." Kōyū wanted to go to the movies with Ai, but he was having a headache thinking about that evil organization, and going to the movies alone wasn't a good idea.
"I'm not going." Ai didn't even look up. "I need to continue researching the antidote today."
Conan, of course, readily agreed to the idea of researching an antidote.
"Read 'Einstein's Glorious and Troubled Days'."
"That sounds boring." Conan didn't even want to comment on the name. "Let's focus on finding an antidote!"
Upon hearing the movie's name, Ai looked up at Guangyou, then put down her magazine and walked towards the door: "Let's go, or there probably won't be any seats left."
Kōyū followed along eagerly, leaving Conan completely bewildered: "Is this kind of movie really that appealing? Haibara said it's actually quite popular? Am I out of touch with the times?"
