“But if someone falls from above, you should be able to find Taimi or a bicycle on the road,” Iiji Takuto said, frowning.
"But we didn't notice it, so we didn't pay attention to it."
He hadn't expected this to happen.
They had assumed that Shirafuji Yasumi would arrive at the summit early to wait for them, as she always did, and then boast that she was the first person to reach the top.
Unexpectedly, they would meet again under these circumstances.
"Anyway, let's go up and take a look first." Inspector Megure didn't draw any conclusions, but instead looked up at the mountaintop and said.
"Let's go to that place you said we can see the fireworks."
“Okay.” Fukuura Reiji and the other two nodded.
"Brother Takagi, you stay here and continue the investigation."
Then, Inspector Megure turned to Takagi and said, "Look around the area. If you find that magenta bicycle, notify me immediately."
"Yes!" Takagi replied seriously, then turned around and searched the vicinity with the other staff for the missing magenta bicycle.
After arranging things, Inspector Megure said to Fukuura Reiji and the other two, "Let's go, let's go check out that place you mentioned first."
"Um."
Inspector Megure then walked up the mountain with Reiji Fukuura and the other two.
Watching them leave, and glancing at the busy staff beside him, Conan quietly approached Shirafuji Yasumi's body, crouched down, and carefully examined it.
"You've found something?" Kōyū walked over, his gaze sweeping over the body of Shirafuji Yasumi. He was about to look away when something he inadvertently saw made him pause.
"Looks like I don't need to tell you." Conan looked up at Kouyu, but only for a moment, before turning back to look at Shirafuji Yasumi's corpse.
"You should have noticed by now, right?"
“Yes, I’ve found it,” Guangyou nodded and said.
“This case is not an accident,” Conan said slowly as he stood up, his expression serious. “It is a premeditated murder.”
"Alright, stop posing there. I know that without you telling me," Kōyū said, glancing at Conan standing there.
"The most important thing right now is to go to the top of the mountain and take a look, not to pose for photos here."
Upon hearing this, Conan's newly formed composure vanished instantly, and he couldn't help but reveal his crescent-shaped eyes as he looked at Kōyū, who was standing to the side with a disdainful expression.
However, Conan didn't say anything. He knew this wasn't the time to argue about these things. After glancing at Mitsuyu, he said, "Oh, let's go."
Then, the three of them headed up to the top of the mountain.
...
"There are bicycle wheel tracks next to the broken fence," Inspector Megure said, squatting down and looking at the tire tracks on the ground with the light from his flashlight.
"It seems she really did fall from here."
"So that's how it is..." Upon hearing this, Haruka Tendo lowered her head and sighed.
"How could this happen..." Iihe Takuto didn't lower his head, but he did sigh for Shirafuji Yasumi's ordeal.
No one wants this to happen.
"By the way, didn't you see these tire tracks when you got here?" Inspector Megure turned around and asked the group.
“We did see it,” Iai Takuto replied, temporarily suppressing his regret. “We just didn’t expect this to happen.”
After Takuto finished speaking, Reiji Fukuura added, "Because we didn't see Taimi when we came up, we didn't pay much attention to it."
"Hmm." Inspector Megure didn't ask any further questions. After hearing what the two said, he simply nodded and turned his gaze back to the tire tracks.
Before he could even look for a few seconds, Takagi's shout came from below.
"Police department!"
Putting aside the thought of investigating the tire tracks for the time being, Inspector Megure looked down through a gap in the fence and asked, "Takagi, what's wrong?"
"I've found the bicycle!" Takagi shouted, lifting the bicycle high with both hands. "It's stuck on the trunk of a tree in the bushes outside the guardrail!"
"Found it already? Well done." Inspector Megure's serious expression softened slightly as he replied loudly, "Then, Takagi, could you please bring the car up so they can confirm it?"
"Yes!" Takagi replied and turned to walk towards the mountaintop.
At this moment, Guangyou and the others also arrived at the top of the mountain.
"Looks like the disguise was quite successful," Kōyū remarked after overhearing Inspector Megure's conversation with Takagi.
"Yes, the disguise was very successful, but there are still quite a few loopholes." Conan nodded in agreement.
“Let’s keep watching. We still don’t have enough evidence.” Kōyū looked back at Takagi, who was carrying his bicycle up the mountain, and suggested.
"Hmm," Conan replied.
"Inspector, I've brought the bike up." Takagi asked as he walked over to Fukuura Reiji and the others, holding the bicycle with both hands.
"Please double-check, is this the correct bicycle?"
“Yes, yes, yes, that’s the right bicycle.” Fukuura Reiji glanced at it and nodded, saying, “This is the portable bicycle we put in the campervan.”
"Okay, Takagi, go check if the tire tracks match," Inspector Megure said, turning to Takagi.
"OK."
Then, Takagi used the bicycle to leave another set of tire tracks next to those.
After a brief comparison, Takagi responded, "Inspector, the bicycle wheels perfectly match these tire tracks."
"I see, so that's how it is." Inspector Megure stroked his chin, guessing, "If that's the case..."
"That must be because Miss Tai Mei rode her bicycle here to get ahead of everyone else. Because it was dark and there were no lights, her vision was impaired..."
"So she didn't have time to brake, or she braked too late, which caused her to crash through the fence and fall onto the road below along with the car."
"Her head hit something on the road and she was thrown off, falling into the bushes outside the guardrail along with her bicycle."
"Then, while everyone was watching the fireworks together, Miss Tai Mei, who was stuck in the bushes, slipped down onto the road below."
"And so, she was spotted by the group who had finished watching the fireworks and were getting ready to get back to camp."
Finally, Inspector Megure gave a summary.
"Judging from the current situation, this case is an accident."
Takagi agreed with this conclusion, and after thinking for a moment, he said:
"Yes, that makes sense, and it also provides a reasonable explanation for why no bloodstains were found on the road where Miss Taimi was discovered."
"Looks like I still have to remind them." Conan shook his head, though he was used to having to remind them.
"Well, it's Conan's time to show off..." Mitsuyu didn't intend to steal Conan's thunder, so he patted the latter on the shoulder and said seriously.
