"I'll go ask him, he's not asleep either."
Without giving Takagi time to refuse, Kōyū got up and walked towards the tent where Conan was after he finished speaking.
Just as he expected, as soon as he entered the tent, Guangyou saw Conan sitting on the ground reading a mystery novel.
Hearing the noise, Conan looked up and asked with some confusion, "Huh? Aren't you going to sleep in your own tent?"
"I came to call you. Here's what happened..." Mitsuyu briefly explained Takagi's situation to Conan.
After hearing this, Conan was both amused and exasperated.
"Since you don't have anything to do right now and aren't sleeping, go answer these questions. It'll be a small contribution to the Metropolitan Police Department's crime-solving rate," Kōyū said earnestly.
"Once Inspector Megure finishes what he's doing, Takagi will be leaving with him too. It probably won't take you much time."
"Then why didn't you go... I remember you were the one who thought of that mat first, right?" Conan put down his book, looked at Kōyū with a suspicious gaze, and said.
"I suspect you want me to answer for you so you can shirk your responsibilities, but I have no proof right now."
Despite having his thoughts exposed, Kōyū remained calm and said, "I thought you were better at deduction than me, which is why I sent you."
"After all, I'm only half-baked. This was just a coincidence. If we're talking about real skills, can I compare to you, the 'Sherlock Holmes of the Heisei era'?"
“What you said makes sense.” Conan pretended to consider it for a while, then closed the book, put it aside, and stood up to say to Mitsuyu.
"Alright then, I'll just use this to pass the time."
"Hmm." Kōyū suppressed a laugh and nodded in agreement with Conan, then added, "Maybe Officer Takagi will be able to handle the case on his own in the future."
"It still depends on him." Conan was not smug because of Kouyu's praise. Hearing this, he shook his head and said.
"Deduction requires meticulousness, a dedication to the truth, and a passion for reasoning itself. Without any of these, it is difficult to succeed."
