Chapter 9 The Bandaged Man Murder Case at the Mountain Villa (Part 2)

At that moment, Kōyū tugged at Conan, his smile utterly irritating: "Conan, taking advantage of someone in distress isn't a good thing!"

Conan's face turned red again. After this incident, Conan had no idea how to continue thinking about the problem, so he closed his eyes and went to sleep.

In the middle of the night, Guangyou seemed to hear some noises and slightly opened his eyes.

When Kōyū saw that the floor-to-ceiling window in the room was open, he tugged at Conan and pointed to the window.

Conan looked in the direction Kouyu pointed and saw the bandaged man walk in through the French windows and to the bedside. Conan saw the bandaged man swing an axe down and decisively braced his foot against Ran's body. With a little force, Ran's body shifted slightly to the side, avoiding the attack.

Xiaolan was sleeping soundly and did not wake up.

Guangyou quickly pressed a button on his wristband and caught the axe that was coming down with both hands, catching the handle of the axe.

The axe was heavy, and the force of the downward chop made it difficult for Kōyū, who was rushing to block, to keep up. He kicked the monster instead. Without thinking, Kōyū yelled at Conan, "Quick, Conan, use the ribbon, at maximum volume!"

Upon hearing this, Conan quickly picked up the ribbon and shouted through the megaphone. Ran woke up and blinked her sleepy eyes. Suddenly, she realized that the bandaged monster was right in front of her and let out a scream that shocked the world's sopranos.

Hearing the screams, Sonoko rushed to the door and knocked, asking what had happened.

The bandaged monster, who had just been kicked, saw someone coming and hurriedly turned around and ran out of the French windows.

The rest of the people were awakened by Xiaolan's screams and rushed to her room to ask what had happened. After learning that Xiaolan had been attacked by that strange person again, everyone was very worried and concerned, because the door was locked and they had no idea how the strange person had gotten in.

Guangyou walked to the French windows, squatted down and pointed: "Look, everyone, there's a hole in the glass over here."

The hole was located right next to the lock, which explains how the strange man got in.

Everyone assumed the strange man had come in from outside. Kōyū carefully looked around the room and said to Conan, "He didn't come in from outside. There are no mud marks on the ground."

Conan's worries deepened, because this meant that the strange man was hiding in the villa!

Everyone was frightened by the strange man, so they had no desire to sleep and gathered in the restaurant to wait for the next day.

Kōyū looked at the necklace on Ayako's hand and asked her about it. Ayako said she saw the necklace in the entryway.

Conan rested his chin on his hand, thinking: Wait a minute, the monster carried Chikako straight into the forest, so if he was going to fall, he should have fallen in the forest, not at the entrance.

Kōyū leaned close to Conan's ear and whispered, "Conan, have you ever considered that Chikako-neechan was already killed and dismembered back then..."

Conan's face showed terror: "If I had already been..."

Kōyū quickly stopped Conan from continuing, saying, "Shh, we don't have any evidence yet. Let's look for more clues."

"Were you the last person to see Chikako-neechan, Ayako-neechan?"

Conan climbed onto a chair and asked Ayako, "Back then, did Chikako-neechan have any strange feelings?"

Ayako thought for a moment: "Now that you mention it, it seems like Chikako read something like a letter that was tucked under the door, and her expression changed immediately after reading it."

Guangyou tugged at Xiaolan: "Xiaolan-jie, when you came, I remember you opened all the doors on the second floor, right? Did you see anything strange, like bandages or cloaks?"

Ota Katsumi was displeased upon hearing this: "What are you talking about? Are you doubting the people here?"

Xiaolan quickly apologized, but then she continued, "It seems like everyone was changing clothes at that time, and I left in a hurry without looking closely. But later I always felt something was strange, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it."

Just then, a loud clap of thunder sounded, and the lights in the villa went out—the power had gone out. Ayako went to get the candles, and Ran and Conan followed, but Kouyu didn't.

With his excellent night vision, he saw that Takahashi Ryoichi had disappeared without him noticing. Kōyū thought to himself: If I'm not mistaken, it's probably him, but I still have no proof.

Xiaolan had just lit the candles when she sensed something was wrong behind her. She turned around and kicked the handle of an axe, breaking it in two. The axe stuck in the ground.

The lights were quickly restored, and Sonoko screamed when she discovered that the second-floor window had been broken.

Ran, Conan, and Ayako quickly ran back to the lobby.

When the group arrived at the window on the second floor, they found that the window had been completely broken, and that it had been smashed from the outside.

Conan noticed that this didn't seem to be the case, because the lock had already been opened. If you broke the window, why would you bother to unlock it? That's clearly suspicious.

Conan saw Kōyū touching the railing on the second floor. Kōyū didn't say anything, but pointed to the marks on the railing.

After seeing this, Conan finally understood the culprit's method; all that was missing was to identify the culprit.

Kōyū pulled Conan aside and said to him, "Conan, I think I know who the murderer is, but I'm missing some evidence."

Conan, upon hearing this, hurriedly asked who it was, because Ran had already been attacked three times!

Kōyū quietly pointed at Takahashi Ryōichi: "It's him. I kicked that weirdo earlier. I felt that the body under the cloak wasn't very fat or very thin. Also, when I saw you go to get the candles, he disappeared, and then I heard the sound of glass breaking."

Conan asked, "Then why did he attack Ran-neechan? Ran-neechan didn't even know him before."

Guangyou scratched his head: "Do you remember what happened when Xiaolan first came?"

Conan said, "Oh, he wasn't that fat to begin with. After Ran saw him, he thought he would be exposed, so he wanted to kill Ran to silence her!"

The matter then became quite simple: Kousuke didn't interfere, and Conan accidentally ended up anesthetizing Sonoko instead of Ran.

Then came a series of deductions, successfully deducing the process and motives of the murderer, Ryoichi Takahashi. Everyone who knew the truth felt a heavy weight on their hearts.

This tragedy turned a friend into a monster. This incident reminds everyone that the Bandaged Monster always exists. If we let our guard down, this murderous demon will reappear in our hearts, using the guise of revenge to harm innocent lives...

"Kuangyou, here's your Häagen-Dazs." Conan followed behind Kuangyou with a fawning smile.

Kōyū wanted to laugh, but he pretended to be nonchalant: "You did a good job this time, Conan-kun~"

In this incident, Mitsuyu helped Conan resolve the crisis caused by a lurking figure in the shadows who wanted to attack Ran.

So Kōyū successfully extorted a Häagen-Dazs ice cream, or else he would tell people that Conan likes Ran.

Conan watched Kouyu happily eating his ice cream and gritted his teeth: "Damn it..."
