Guangyou stood in the corridor outside the classroom with dead fish eyes, looking utterly hopeless.
Conan, carrying a bag on his back and another in his hand, walked up to Kouyu and said, "Hey, here's your bag. By the way, you've finally met your match! How does it feel to be standing in the hallway?"
"You'll see once you try." Kōyū snatched the bag, showing disdain for Conan's gloating.
On their way home, Ayumi and her two friends were going in a different direction from Mitsuyu and his friends, so they soon parted ways at an intersection.
The scene was very similar to the one in her dream, and it would be a lie to say she didn't care. Ai walked ahead while looking around.
Suddenly, she saw a car not far in front of her. She stopped immediately and stared at the car with wide eyes.
Conan, unaware of the situation, asked curiously, "What's wrong? Is there something off about that black Porsche?"
Walking up to the car, Conan was somewhat surprised: "A Porsche 356A, a 50-year-old antique car. The owner doesn't seem to be in the car. I've only seen it in magazines and on TV. I never thought that someone would still be driving such an antique car."
Ai clutched her chest, her heart pounding. She felt very cold. Kyou had comforted her earlier, which made her feel much better, but when she saw this car, she wondered if she was just fooling herself.
Kōyū knew what she was thinking, so he reached out and patted Ai's shoulder, then leaned close to her ear and said, "Please don't underestimate me, okay? I know it's hard for one person to fight against the organization, but we're not fighting alone."
Ai nodded with difficulty and took a breath.
Seeing this, Kōyū nodded as well, patted Ai's shoulder to comfort her, and then looked up at Conan and said, "This is Gin's car."
Conan's movements suddenly froze, and he gritted his teeth: "Damn it! It was that guy's."
After saying this, Conan took out his portable phone and called Professor Agasa: "Professor, hurry up and bring the iron clothes hanger and wrench over. As for why, I'll explain it to you when you get here."
"Why do you need those things?" Guangyou asked, puzzled. "If you need to unlock it, I'm standing right here."
Kōsuke knew what Conan wanted those things for. Antique cars used to be able to open doors this way, but with a "professional" one standing right in front of him, it was still difficult to open the door, which puzzled Kōsuke.
He went up to the car door and fiddled with it for a few moments, and the door opened with a "click".
Conan looked a little embarrassed and scratched his head: "Hehe, I forgot."
Ai asked, puzzled, "What are you two trying to do?"
Guangyou looked helpless: "Look, this guy wants to install a transmitter and a bugging device."
Watching Conan take out his equipment, preparing to use his everlasting chewing gum in conjunction with the transmitter and listening device invented by Professor Agasa, Kōyū sighed: "Let me do it. If you're the one who installed it, Gin would probably find it hard not to notice."
He pulled a round, flat object from his pocket and stuck it under the car seat. Guangyou smiled and said, "Done! Let's go!"
The three returned to Professor Agasa's Beetle, and after a short while, Kōyū smiled and pointed to the other side of the road: "Here we come."
When Ai saw the two figures dressed in black across the street, fear showed in her eyes. Seeing this, Kousuke reached out and squeezed Ai's hand, and smiled at her.
With Kouyu's comforting words, Ai finally calmed down, though she still seemed a little awkward.
Gin and vodka were completely unafraid of the police, crossing the road directly. Guangyou always felt that those drivers were like something else; they couldn't brake in a car accident, but now that they should be unable to brake, their brakes were very effective.
A few cars could have easily knocked the two people flying, but they just missed by a hair's breadth.
One of the truck drivers was also furious, sticking his head out of the window and yelling, "What the hell is going on! Can't you watch where you're going? Are you blind?!"
Gin merely glanced back at the driver amidst his insults, his coldness seemingly etched into his very bones. A seemingly ordinary, indifferent look from him completely silenced the irritable driver.
The driver was a big, burly man, but at that moment he was as gentle as a kitten: "It's alright then."
Seeing this, Gin sneered and continued walking towards his car.
Suddenly, Conan cursed under his breath: "Our footprints!"
"Relax." Guangyou waved his hand. "I had already thought of it and had already dealt with it, but there wasn't enough time, so I just covered it up hastily."
Gin glanced at the car, a cigarette dangling from his lips, and said, "Why are the marks around here so messy?"
“They were probably just passersby who came to admire it,” Vodka said without thinking too much about it. “After all, your car is quite rare these days, so I guess it was some car enthusiasts who came to appreciate it.”
Gin's words, though devoid of any intonation, carried a strange sense of surprise: "This German tree frog is quite famous."
The two didn't think too much about it and got into the car.
Conan, aboard the Beetle, was unusually excited: "It's like heaven has eyes! I've searched high and low, but it's right here without any effort."
"Tch." Seeing Conan's confident and self-assured demeanor, Kōyū poured cold water on his enthusiasm. "Forget about you. With a tranquilizer gun that can only fire once, don't be so confident. Be careful you don't get slapped in the face later!"
"Can't you say something nice? You're boosting others' morale while diminishing your own?" Conan said irritably.
Ai, sitting next to Kōyū, nodded.
Seeing Ai nod, Conan's extinguished flame of hope rekindled: "Look, Haibara agrees with me too, you should have faith!"
"No! What I mean is that Kousuke is right." Ai thought Kousuke was right. "You still need to be careful; your health is an obstacle."
