Chapter Fifty-Six: The Zombie King (Part 11)
The male protagonist, Qin Xiao, looked at the charred corpse and was about to go inside when he suddenly heard footsteps. He told everyone to stop and stared intently into the corpse.
"Are they zombies?" A trembling voice came from behind him.
Before the apocalypse, they were just ordinary people in school or society who had never seen bloodshed. But when the apocalypse came, they were forced to take up knives and guns and were forced to have power to slaughter their compatriots who were their kind, yet no longer their kind.
A person's hands are clean, but a person is sinful.
But they had no other choice.
If they don't kill the zombies, the zombies will eat them.
They no longer considered those zombies as their own; they called them monsters.
"Judging from the footsteps, they don't sound like zombies." Qin Xiao shook his head.
Zombies walk with heavy footsteps, but this footstep is very light; it wasn't made by a zombie.
"Who are you?" Lu Lingjun, dressed in blue, was an anomaly among a group of post-apocalyptic survivors dressed in tattered clothes that barely covered their bodies.
Although they weren't zombies, they still immediately put them on alert.
"We are members of the superpowered team of this **. Who are you?" Qin Xiao, as the captain, stared warily at Lu Lingjun, stepped forward, and lightning began to crackle in his palm.
That's right, his superpower is lightning.
"My name is Lu Lingjun, and I am a cultivator in a Taoist temple." Lu Lingjun observed Qin Xiao's aura and realized that this was the male protagonist.
The male protagonist is really lucky; such a huge fire didn't burn him to death.
Instead, he managed to avoid it and even met the female lead, Nan Wan'er, on his way back alive, allowing the male lead and female lead to meet.
"A cultivator?" Qin Xiao didn't believe it.
"Yes, with the arrival of the apocalypse, spiritual energy has revived, and you have awakened your supernatural abilities. As for us cultivators, we have learned immortal techniques based on the ancient texts left by our ancestors."
Lu Lingjun, gentle as a spring breeze, spoke nonsense with a straight face.
He looks just like a charlatan.
Qin Xiao: ......
Everyone: ......
I really want to say that we should believe in science and not be superstitious.
But if superpowers are already out there, what's the point of talking about science?
"So you're the one who burned our **?" Qin Xiao stared intently at Lu Lingjun, still wary.
Lu Lingjun shook his head, then nodded; that's the air of a charlatan, that kind of pretentiousness.
Ninety-nine points; I'm afraid giving him a perfect score would make him too arrogant.
Yes and no.
It's still the same old charlatan's tune.
Qing*, dressed in blue, moved without wind, his eyes slightly closed, making him appear even more compassionate and empathetic.
"When my partner and I arrived here, the place had already been overrun by zombies, and there were no living people inside. In order to deal with these zombies, my companions and I had no choice but to burn the place down."
Gu Yanjing: ...The story is well-written. When I lost consciousness, was this how you tricked me into going to bed with you?
Qin Xiao wanted to ask more questions, but then he heard an impatient shout from inside.
"Lu Lingjun, get in here."
Then they saw the dignified-looking Qing* turn around and quickly roll inside.
Qing* appeared unhurried, but each step covered a great distance, and she seemed to disappear in the blink of an eye.
It seems he really is an immortal.
"Yan Jing, what's wrong?" Lu Lingjun went in and immediately saw Gu Yan Jing, who looked impatient.
Gu Yanjing frowned deeply, staring intently at a spot in the corner: "Lu Lingjun, kill that rat for me."
He was afraid.
