On Sunday, Ying Qian spent the entire day in her study reading.
After finishing my homework in three hours, I sat down next to Meng Beiyan in his office.
After yesterday, she seemed to cling to her brother even more.
Meng Beiyan was very happy to agree.
There was a knocking sound at the door.
Meng Beiyan pressed down the eager Ying Qian and got up to open the door.
Chen Wenzhi carried a heavy backpack on one shoulder. When he saw the person who opened the door, his enthusiasm waned, but his scholarly air remained unchanged. His neat white sweatshirt was impeccable.
"I'm looking for Ying Qian."
Meng Beiyan didn't react and tacitly allowed him to enter.
"No need to change shoes, there aren't any extra slippers at home," he said.
Chen Wenzhi responded.
The house was tidy and organized, with a pure gray and white color scheme, and it didn't feel cold at all. He could tell at a glance that the flowers on the table were Ying Qian's work, and the paintings on the wall were probably also by Ying Qian.
Before Meng Beiyan could even greet him.
Ying Qian ran out of the study, beaming, "Long time no see! Chen Wenzhi."
"It's only been a day." He calmly took out a heart-shaped pendant from his pocket and solemnly handed it to Ying Qian. "You left this with me."
Meng Beiyan returned to his study and closed the door, indicating that he did not want to be disturbed.
Ying Qian glanced at him; Meng Beiyan's expression seemed normal when he closed the door.
"I can't believe I left it with you." Ying Qian carefully put it away, her eyes shining. "I've been looking for it for so long."
Chen Wenzhi asked curiously, "Did your good friend give this to you?"
“Hmm!” she replied, “...Actually, it wasn’t that great. We were junior high school classmates, from the Qincheng area.”
"Oh." Chen Wenzhi looked somewhat relieved.
Ying Qian pulled him to her room, saying, "I want to show you something."
She held her phone and skillfully entered the password.
Chen Wenzhi was very happy because of this password. Perhaps many people set his birthday as their password, but seeing it in person still made him incredibly excited.
If it were anyone else, he probably wouldn't have thought of his own birthday, and even if he did, he would only feel disgust. But this person is Ying Qian.
All the problems were solved because of this person.
His breathing became erratic, his heart began to beat faster, and he coughed twice in her ear.
Hearing two coughs, Ying Qian tensed up and quickly asked, "Are you sick? No way, no way? You didn't catch it from me, did you?"
"Then I've committed a terrible sin!" Ying Qian put down her phone, feeling extremely remorseful.
"No, it's just that my throat is a little itchy." Chen Wenzhi looked at her thoughtfully. "Even if I am really sick, it's not your fault."
She nodded, gave him a "you're just being sarcastic" look, and hurriedly pulled out a video from her photo album.
The video shows heavy snow falling, covering the entire city in a blanket of white; this place is S City.
She asked expectantly, "Does it snow heavily here every year?"
Chen Wenzhi didn't know where she got the video from, but simply answered truthfully, "Yes, it snows heavily every year."
Looking back, "There was another year when all the schools were closed because of heavy snow, and we had a winter break. The final exams were made up later."
"That's great!" Her interest was reignited. "Then I can finally see snow this year!"
"You're not a local? You've never seen snow here before?"
Ying Qian pouted, and then said that she had somehow avoided every snowfall in S City. "I was born here every winter, and even when I had the chance to be here, I never saw snow in S City."
This year should be the first one.
"Then I'm afraid you'll see this snow at school." He said this without any change in expression, sometimes even his joy or sorrow were unreadable.
"That's great!" She patted Chen Wenzhi on the shoulder. "Then you have to play snowball fight with me!"
"good."
Ying Qian was stunned, not expecting him to agree so readily.
"You absolutely mustn't regret this!"
"No, that won't happen." Chen Wenzhi pursed his lips and said slowly, "At No. 3 Middle School, students and teachers are allowed to go out and see the first snowfall."
"That's good?" Ying Qian said bitterly, "It rarely snows in Qincheng. It snows occasionally, but it's never much, let alone accumulating. It melts as soon as it hits the ground."
Chen Wenzhi told her, "No, not here. In my memory, the snow is always heavy every year, enough for you to play with for a while."
"Hehe." She giggled, "Then I'll have to practice my snowball fight skills!"
Chen Wenzhi actually wanted to say, "You can't beat me," but after thinking for a while, he chose to cheer her on.
"By the way, I'll try to help you with the sports meet events." Chen Wenzhi was referring to the women's 1500m event.
She was slightly surprised, but seeing Chen Wenzhi's determined gaze, she didn't want to refuse his kindness.
"Do you want to participate?" he asked.
Ying Qian shook her head vigorously.
She felt that 800 was already the maximum, and 1500 was simply unbearable!
"Okay, I understand." A hint of warmth appeared in Chen Wenzhi's indifferent eyes. He said, "I respect your choice."
He regretted it as soon as he said it. Ying Qian seemed shocked, her face turning pale and then purple.
