Chapter forty-seven is fine

"Do you want some water?" Ying Qian noticed that his cherry-red lips looked a little dry.

Chen Wenzhi nodded.

Ying Qian got up to pour water, and he idly flipped through the calendar on Ying Qian's desk.

Her desk was very tidy, showing that she had put a lot of effort into it. The calendar placed in the very center of the desk was the most eye-catching, with many dates marked on it.

As if by some strange twist of fate, he stumbled upon his own birthday.

He wanted to know deep down what this girl really thought of him.

Could she also sense his heart?

There are circles drawn with a pencil on it, which have obviously been erased, but the marks are still there.

He frowned, not quite understanding.

If you want to make a mark, why erase it?

It looks like it was wiped very hard; some of the original ink has been rubbed off, and the date has become blurry.

He gently traced the indented pen marks with his fingertips and asked himself, "Why?"

"Why are you flipping through the calendar?" Ying Qian slowly approached and handed him the water in her hand. She knew that Chen Wenzhi didn't like tea or beverages.

Chen Wenzhi paused, slowly shook his head, and his fingertips trembled slightly as he withdrew them. He composed himself and replied expressionlessly, "Just browsing because I was bored."

"Hmm." Ying Qian glanced casually at the month on the calendar and paused for a moment, then subtly curved her lips into a smile. "Would you like to stay for dinner? Try my brother's cooking."

An unexpected suggestion.

Chen Wenzhi was silent for a moment, then bluntly refused, saying, "I don't think your brother likes me very much."

"..."

She hesitated, wanting to explain for Meng Beiyan, but upon reflection, she realized he really didn't like Chen Wenzhi very much...

They probably just don't want their own cabbage to be eaten by pigs.

"Actually, my brother is a very nice person, he just seems unapproachable, like..." She paused, then deliberately added, "like you!"

He frowned, and parted his lips: "Me?"

Why do you say that?

His utterly astonished expression was exactly what I wanted!

“When I first met you, I also felt that you didn’t like me.” She smiled, looked into his eyes, and said, word by word, “But now, I feel that you like me very much.”

Chen Wenzhi did not shy away from her gaze. His expression remained unchanged as he calmly nodded and repeated three words in his clear, cold voice: "I like you very much."

His low voice, paired with those nerdy glasses, always gave off a sense of asceticism.

Those three words seemed to be becoming Ying Qian's inner demons.

How satisfying it would be to bring down someone like that!

If I could be with this person who is the center of attention, wouldn't I be a winner in life?

Don't let others be so envious!

Ying Qian thought wickedly, but then dismissed the idea. She didn't want to leave an indelible stain on a clean person; that would be too unfair.

She destroyed all of this illusion with her own hands. No, liking someone shouldn't be like this.

She stared blankly at one spot for a long time.

Chen Wenzhi gently brushed the back of his hand against Ying Qian's cheek, the warm skin brushing against her face. She blinked, her large, watery eyes wide open. "What are you doing? Trying to seduce me?"

"What are you thinking about?" Chen Wenzhi's voice was as light as a feather. "You've become less timid these past two days. Have you been reborn? It's good that you're so open and confident."

Be open and generous?

Does it refer to the word "撩拨" (liáo bō)?

Ying Qian's ears immediately turned red. She smiled sheepishly and lied, "Because you're so beautiful, I forgot to be a little timid when I'm with you."

It's not exactly a lie, it's half true and half false!

Chen Wenzhi remained outwardly calm, but inwardly he cursed her as a little liar.

Seeing that he didn't react, Ying Qian finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Forget it, let's just see how things go. If we're not meant to be, no matter how much I try to win you over, it won't help.

“Being bolder is a good thing,” he said. “But telling too many lies isn’t necessarily a good thing.”

Ying Qian sensed the sarcasm in his words and replied in a sarcastic tone, "How do you know I'm telling the truth or lying? Do you have some kind of mind-reading ability?"

He refused outright, a faint smile appearing on his face: "No."

"Tch," she said, sitting on the edge of the bed.

Chen Wenzhi sat in her chair, her well-defined hands resting naturally on the table, her fingertips occasionally tapping the table or hovering in the air, looking incredibly cute.

Ying Qian tilted her head; his stiff yet handsome face was truly rare.

"I'm leaving, I'm going to my teacher's house." Chen Wenzhi adjusted his glasses and glanced down at the mechanical watch on his wrist.

"A middle school teacher?" She really didn't know anything about Chen Wenzhi's life; he seemed to have many good teachers.

Thinking about it carefully, it makes sense. After all, such good grades are inseparable from the guidance of excellent teachers.

"Hmm," Chen Wenzhi said, "If there's a chance, I can take you to meet him, and we can help you brush up on your physics."

"A physics teacher? Never mind then."

She equally resisted every physics teacher.

Chen Wenzhi thought for a long time: why would someone who loves mathematics hate physics so much?

When he left, Meng Beiyan was drinking tea in the living room, sitting very upright, not even glancing at him out of the corner of his eye, his mind completely absorbed in teasing the birds outside the window.

Chen Wenzhi only greeted Ying Qian.

He didn't say any goodbye to Meng Beiyan.

"How rude..." Meng Beiyan clenched his fist and slammed it on the table.

This is practically a childish act of revenge.
