Chapter 110 Nicknames

It was already noon when we arrived at the village entrance. Leaves were piled up on the soil by the roadside, and the sounds of roosters crowing and dogs barking could be heard from every household.

Grandpa stood at the village entrance and waved to the four people.

After realizing there were two men and two women, I was a little stunned, but I still took them all home.

"Ren Yi, come out with me for a moment."

When Ren Yi heard his name called, he almost fainted. He glanced at Shen Yun, felt a little guilty, and rubbed his hands together before following him out.

The old man was in good health. He put his arm around Ren Yi and asked with a smile, "Ren Yi, tell Grandpa, who are those two girls?"

really……

Ren Yi hesitated for a long time, unsure whether he should admit it or not.

Who doesn't know that Grandpa is a smiling tiger? The happier he smiles, the harder he beats.

"Ren Yi, your grandfather taught you to tell the truth, didn't he?" Grandpa's voice grew deeper, and the hand gripping Ren Yi's shoulder tightened slightly. "Your grandfather and I were good brothers when we were young. If you make any mistakes, I'll have to teach you a lesson on his behalf!"

Ren Yi felt the pain, but dared not dodge.

"I'll tell you!"

As the force gradually decreased, he obediently said, "The one sitting next to Chen Wenzhi is his girlfriend, and the one who is a perfect match for me is my girlfriend."

Grandpa paused for a moment, thought for a few seconds, and then asked, "How far have things progressed between Chen Wenzhi and that girl? Did they just get together? Or..."

He asked the question very subtly.

"I don't know." Ren Yi scratched his head, recalling that they had lived together, and casually replied, "Anyway, we did everything we were supposed to do."

The old man stopped talking, put Ren Yi back, his face was deathly pale, and his fierce aura made people's skin crawl.

He then invited Chen Wenzhi to his study.

Watching Chen Wenzhi's heavy back, Ren Yi paced back and forth in the living room.

Shen Yun wanted to watch TV, but this guy, tall and big, blocked the whole thing. "What are you doing walking around like that? I can't see the TV."

Ren Yi couldn't listen to any of that and sighed, "Chen Wenzhi is probably finished..."

Ying Qian's hand, holding the sunflower seeds, hovered in mid-air. She opened her mouth and asked, "What's wrong?"

Immediately afterwards, the sound of a ruler striking skin could be heard coming from the study upstairs, deafening and accompanied by the confrontation between two voices.

Grandma, who was cooking in the kitchen, hurried upstairs to the study. She stood there for a while, her brows furrowed, but the door was locked from the inside, so she couldn't go in. She could only listen to the ruler hitting her grandson's flesh again and again.

Ying Qian pursed her thin lips into a thin line, about to get up.

Ren Yi stopped him, sighing, "If you go now, Grandpa will beat you up too."

"I can't just stand by and watch Chen Wenzhi get beaten!" She resolutely broke free from Ren Yi, rushed upstairs, stood at the door of the study, looking at her grandmother's back, not knowing what to say.

Grandma heard the voice, looked at the girl in front of her with a kind smile, and seemed to have guessed what was going on. She comforted her, saying, "Little girl, I know you feel sorry for Wenzhi, but his grandfather has always been like this, and no one can persuade him otherwise..."

"He was beaten up like this growing up, and he's heartless. We don't care, and we shouldn't feel sorry for him," Grandma teased.

Ying Qian's gaze remained fixed on the solid wood door, her voice choked in her throat, and hot tears welled up in her eyes, refusing to fall.

Inside the study.

Grandpa, wielding a ruler, was swift and decisive, and Chen Wenzhi knelt on the ground to receive his reprimand.

"You're a man, you can put your pants back on and live a respectable life. That girl is different, what will happen to her in the future? Who can make it up to her? How old are you two? Aren't you ashamed to do this kind of thing?"

"What's wrong with dating?" Chen Wenzhi's hands hung limply at his sides. He had already been beaten so badly that he couldn't move. The excruciating pain pierced his heart, but he remained calm.

Grandpa sighed deeply: "I mean, since you've already... then you should take responsibility for her, but I don't think you have the ability to take responsibility for that girl."

Chen Wenzhi frowned: "We haven't done it before, we haven't even started anything yet."

He seemed to already know what his grandfather had misunderstood, but he still firmly gave his grandfather a promise: "She will definitely be your future granddaughter-in-law. I will take responsibility for her. No matter what is between us, as long as I love her, I will take responsibility for her."

"..." The old man lowered his head, said nothing more, and turned to look at the books on the bookshelf.

Seeing this, he got up, dusted off his knees, and left the study.

The door opened.

Ying Qian rushed into his arms, and he closed the door behind him, then comforted her, saying, "It's okay, it's okay."

"You were hit?" She quickly grabbed Chen Wenzhi's hand.

The red marks from the ruler on his palms were crisscrossed, swollen and painful; even a touch would be excruciating. The marks on his wrists and necks were also affected; the skin there was thin, and the bloodstains were incredibly conspicuous, with fresh blood covering the wounds, making them a scarlet mess.

He remained calm, looking down at her distressed expression, and smiled gently.

"How can you laugh like that? You're heartless..." Ying Qian muttered under her breath, staring at his hand.

“He has a heart and lungs…” he said.

"Does it hurt a lot?" Ying Qian carefully lifted his hand to examine it, thinking about how to treat it. "Do you have iodine? I'll disinfect the bleeding area right away, otherwise it won't look good if it leaves a scar."

Chen Wenzhi nodded, then waved his hand and said, "It's nothing."

"Nothing my foot..." she sighed.

The study door opened again, and the old man coughed twice.

They looked at each other, and the atmosphere became a little awkward.

"..."

Ying Qian subtly shielded Chen Wenzhi behind her, preventing him from clashing with his grandfather again.

Grandpa glanced at the two of them and saw that the girl was intentionally protecting her grandson. He thought to himself: He is still my own grandson after all... I can't eat him, so why is he so afraid of me?

"Chen Wenzhi is thick-skinned and not as delicate as you think," the grandfather told Ying Qian, his face full of disdain for his grandson.

Ying Qian couldn't bring herself to smile and nodded awkwardly.

His large hand was still clenched in my palm, burning hot...it was like a hand warmer.

Grandpa clicked his tongue a few times and went downstairs to find Ren Yi.

Upon hearing footsteps, Ren Yi thought to himself, "I'm doomed. This is coming for me."

"Honey, do you prefer strawberry or blueberry flavor?" Shen Yun asked.

Ren Yi saw three dark lines on his grandfather's forehead and coughed twice to cover up his panic.

Shen Yun looked up and met her grandfather's stern face. Her face flushed red instantly, and she wished she could dig a hole in the ground and disappear!

Ren Yi smiled and dodged the question: "A nickname, a nickname!"

Grandpa didn't meddle in other people's business. After observing Chen Yun for a while, he took the dog bowl, sprinkled some dog food, and went outside to feed the dog.

“A nickname…” Shen Yun tugged at Ren Yi’s cheek.

"Isn't that right?" Ren Yi pouted, feigning cuteness. "They're calling me 'darling,' isn't that a term of endearment?"

“Actually, sometimes I call Ying Qian ‘darling’,” she said.

Ren Yi pushed her hand away and straightened his back: "From now on, you can only call me 'darling'!"

"Childish devil!"
