Chu Feng looked up and saw that Liu Anran was awake. She skipped and hopped to the bedside, "Mom, you're awake! Feng'er is hungry, it's time to eat!"
Looking at Chu Feng's adorable appearance, Liu Anran ruffled her hair and said with a smile, "My Feng'er is hungry, why don't you wake up your mother?"
Chu Feng bit her finger and pouted, saying, "Big brother said we can't disturb Mom's rest."
Liu Anran got out of bed, put on her shoes, and said to Chu Feng, "How about Mom boils corn on the cob and roasts sweet potatoes for you?"
"Aren't you going to give any to your older and younger brothers?" Chu Feng asked, tilting her head.
"Would Feng'er be willing to give some to her older and younger brothers?" Liu Anran asked in return.
Chu Feng thought for a moment before looking at Liu Anran and saying, "Yes, of course we should give it to my older brother and younger brother."
Liu Anran smiled, picked up Chu Feng, kissed her, and then put her on the ground. "Mommy's Feng'er is so good."
Upon hearing this, Chu Fengfeng's eyes lit up, and she asked with a beaming smile, "Am I the most well-behaved girl?"
Liu Anran couldn't help but chuckle as she watched Chu Feng stare at her with wide eyes, her cute and innocent face filled with anticipation as she awaited her answer.
"Feng'er is a little bit more obedient than her older and younger brothers. If she continues to be this obedient, she will be the best boy."
Upon hearing Liu Anran's answer, Chu Feng happily spun around in place, beaming as she said, "Mommy, Feng'er has always been a good girl!"
A loving smile appeared on Liu Anran's face as she echoed, "Feng'er is Mommy's good baby, Mommy loves Feng'er the most."
Chu Feng ran up to Yunlong and the others with a smile and said proudly, "Big brother, second brother, third brother, fourth brother, Mom said I'm the best boy, better than all of you!"
Looking at Chu Feng's smug expression, Yunlong said with amusement, "Of course Feng'er is the most obedient."
Chu Chen glanced at Chu Feng's childish appearance, then lowered his head to continue playing the game in his hands.
Chu Zhe put the building blocks on the ground, stood up, slowly walked to Liu Anran's side, squatted down next to her, and watched her work.
Liu Anran put a dozen or so ears of corn into the pot, sat by the stove to tend the fire, and looked at Chu Zhe's obedient appearance, and said softly, "Zhe'er, are you hungry? Wait a little longer, you can eat corn soon."
"Mom, I've eaten fruit, I'm not very hungry," Chu Zhe said.
A look of understanding flashed across Liu Anran's face. She wasn't very hungry, but she was hungry nonetheless. Chu Zhe was a very quiet child, like a girl, and he seemed to be the wrong gender as Chu Fengsheng.
Liu Anran held Chu Zhe on her lap and sat by the stove to tend the fire.
Chu Zhe, nestled in Liu Anran's arms, wore a bright smile.
He likes his mother to hold him, but his mother is too busy and doesn't have time to hold him.
Liu Anran asked in a low voice, "Zhe'er, do you miss your father?"
"I want to," Chu Zhe said.
Liu Anran looked at the table, where a photo of Chu Yunxiao was displayed. The triplets often looked at his photo, and her eyes flickered.
She didn't know if Chu Yunxiao had encountered some troublesome matter and couldn't get away to see the child, or if he had run out of patience because she didn't know how to appreciate him and was unwilling to go back with him, and had found someone else to love!
A faint sadness appeared on Liu Anran's face, but then she felt relieved. As long as her child was safe and sound, she didn't care about anything else.
Liu Anran put Chu Zhe on the ground and made him sit on the stool next to her. She turned over the corn boiling in the pot, threw four sweet potatoes into the stove, covered them with embers and ash, and talked to Chu Zhe while watching the fire.
Chu Chen put down the game console he was holding and slowly walked over to Liu Anran's side. "Mom!"
Liu Anran looked at Chu Chen with gentle eyes. The two-year-old child didn't like to make noise, was very sensible, and was the least worrisome of the triplets. Smiling, she pulled Chu Chen into her arms and asked softly, "Is Chen'er hungry?"
"Yes, I'm hungry," Chu Chen said truthfully.
Seeing that the corn was ripe, Liu Anran stood up, scooped the corn out, placed it in a sieve, and looked at Chu Chen gently, "The corn is ripe. Call your older brother and Feng'er over to eat corn."
Just as Chu Chen was about to speak, Chu Zhe called out to Yunlong and Chu Feng, "Big brother, Feng'er, time to eat corn."
Yunlong led Chu Feng over, and Liu Anran filled water containers for the triplets to wash their hands.
Yunlong looked at the pile of corn cobs in the space, then at Liu Anran wiping the triplets' hands, and asked, "Mom, are we leaving here?"
"Okay! I'll make some rice balls today, and leave here tomorrow," Liu Anran said.
"Where are we going?" Yunlong asked.
“You are still young and growing, so you need to eat meat. I want to hunt more game and plan to go deeper into the mountains,” Liu Anran replied.
Yunlong's face showed surprise. "I thought Mom would go to the Beijing base to find Dad?"
“The Beijing base seems safe, but your great-uncle’s rivals are eyeing his power, and your father’s confidante will see us four as a thorn in her side. It’s a paradise for others, but it’s full of danger for us. You’re still young and don’t have the ability to protect yourselves. The mountains are where we can survive,” Liu Anran said.
After hearing Liu Anran's words, Chu Chen glanced at her, then turned and walked towards the dining table, with Chu Feng and Chu Zhe following closely behind.
Liu Anran picked up the photo on the table, handed it to Yunlong, and whispered, "Since power is more important to your father than us, we don't need to keep waiting for him. Take the photo in. From now on, you, your brother, and your sister are a family."
