Chapter 17 Big Snack Shopping Spree

After finishing collecting the meals in the evening, Li Yao listened to Da Zhuang's shopping report in the living room. They had bought most of the clothes they needed, and were also ordering ready-made meals. They could buy more if they saw something they wanted to eat later. They had also bought rice and flour, but hadn't bought cooking oil, seasonings, hot pot ingredients, or barbecue ingredients yet.

Dazhuang ordered 10,000 commercial-grade 5L barrels of a certain brand of cooking oil, along with salt, sugar, and chicken essence, all in 50-bag/box containers, from the local grain and oil wholesale market. Each box contains 1kg, and Dazhuang ordered 2,000 boxes. Assuming one bag per day, that's 365 x 150 / 50 = 1,095 boxes, which is more than enough.

One ton each of salt and pepper, chili peppers, Sichuan peppercorns, five-spice sesame seeds, black pepper, cumin, thirteen-spice powder, and white pepper; 20,000 bottles each of soy sauce, vinegar, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, braising sauce, oyster sauce, and cooking wine; 5,000 bags of starch; 5,000 boxes of curry (100K each); and 20,000 packets of stewing spices containing star anise, cinnamon, dried tangerine peel, and bay leaves.

We bought 100,000 packets of each of the following hot pot bases: mushroom, chicken, bone, spicy beef tallow, traditional hot pot beef tallow, tomato, Sichuan peppercorn, congee, and seafood. We also bought 50,000 bottles each of the following hot pot dipping sauces: sesame paste, spicy, garlic and sesame oil, satay sauce, sesame peanut sauce, and chili sauce.

10,000 bottles each of the following sauces: chili sauce, teriyaki sauce, chia seed roasted sesame salad dressing, barbecue sauce, sweet bean sauce, soybean paste, scallion oil noodle sauce, mayonnaise, sesame paste spicy seasoning, spicy hot pot sauce, mapo tofu sauce, spicy hot pot sauce, crayfish sauce, etc.

Da Zhuang didn't forget about the barbecue, crayfish, and hot pot dishes either. He selected shops with good reputations and ratings. The barbecue was a full menu, with 10 servings of skewers plus various spicy stir-fries, various cold dishes, and one serving of each of fried noodles, fried rice, and staple food. He ordered 500 servings of this set meal every day for two days. Da Zhuang ordered barbecue from 15 provinces and cities, with more than a dozen shops in each province and city. That's at least 180,000 servings in two days. Moreover, he asked the shop to put the name of each dish on the label. It's enough to make Li Yao cry from eating so much.

The hot pot is also ordered according to the menu, including mushroom broth, chicken broth, bone broth, spicy beef tallow broth, traditional beef tallow broth, tomato broth, Sichuan peppercorn broth, congee broth, seafood broth, nine-compartment broth, copper pot, seafood pot, coconut chicken, and so on. Each pot comes with all the ingredients on the menu, with 2,000 servings of each type. For each hot pot, it will take two months to deliver to 38 stores. When Dazhuang ordered, he didn't forget the dipping sauces either, and the restaurant directly packed a bag of various dipping sauces with each table's hot pot in a large food container.

Spicy crayfish, especially those from Xuyi, are the best. Dazhuang ordered 20,000 kilograms, to be picked up tomorrow. He then contacted some popular crayfish restaurants in CS, a total of 28 restaurants, offering braised, thirteen-spice, garlic, spicy, and hot and sour crayfish. Dazhuang ordered 500 jin (250 catties) from each restaurant per day, which is about the maximum amount each restaurant can provide. The crayfish will be packed in 5-jin boxes, with one pair of chopsticks and five pairs of disposable gloves, and delivered to the warehouse daily in an insulated truck.

Da Zhuang used 200 delivery riders to buy all the snacks on the CS night market, 10 servings of each kind. When Li Yao heard Da Zhuang's report, she felt that he was incredibly arrogant. Da Zhuang had the feeling of a domineering CEO. Who would have thought that he could buy all the snacks on the street using food delivery riders?

Li Yao asked if the stinky tofu was also 10 servings. Da Zhuang said there were 18 stinky tofu stalls on this street, totaling 180 servings. Li Yao felt that wasn't enough, so she said to Da Zhuang, "Zhuang, your master is going to buy it for 150 years. I especially love the stinky tofu with its bursting filling. How about we buy from one stall every day for 3 months, 30 servings from each stall?"

Dazhuang acknowledged the message, then raised his left arm and tapped the display screen on his left armband a few times with his right hand.

After Dazhuang finished ordering, he said, "Master, I have already arranged the new meal pickup schedule and sent it to your phone. I have also marked it on your alarm clock and calendar. Please remember to pick up your meal on time."

Li Yao instinctively shuddered when the nearly two-meter-tall steel giant tried to act cute, but Da Zhuang's transformation was truly novel.

Then Dazhuang continued, "Master, for food snacks, including puffed food, braised dried food, spicy strips, candied fruit, nuts and seeds, pastries and biscuits, candy and chocolate, milk and yogurt, fruit juice and beverages, tea and alcohol, among these categories, we have ordered 100,000 boxes each of the brands of chocolate, ice cream, yogurt, potato chips, spicy strips and cookies that you often eat. For other categories, Dazhuang used data to compare the additive content and market taste preferences, and ordered 50,000 boxes for each major category including various brands. We also ordered 10,000 bags each of various fast food items such as pizza, dinner rolls, dumplings, steamed buns, wontons, zongzi, mooncakes, pasta and steak."

"Among beverages, 200,000 cases of 500ml mineral water were ordered, along with 200,000 cases of various brands of juice, and the wines have already been labeled with foreign wineries."

"We ordered 200,000 boxes each of spicy, numbing-spicy, and seafood instant noodles; 200,000 boxes each of ham, sausage, garlic sausage, red sausage, and cured sausage from their places of origin; and 200,000 boxes of braised eggs."

"Your favorite ice cream cakes, desserts, pastries, and breads are all ordered and purchased by Dazhuang from 36 provincial and municipal chain stores for the day. They will then deliver continuously for the next 3 months, with a total of 100,000 cakes and 1.5 million different kinds of desserts and pastries expected."

"For fruits, Dazhuang ordered 500,000 jin of durian from the Lingnan region of China from several of the largest fruit markets in the south and north. The durian from Southeast Asia has been marked and can be delivered at any time. 100,000 jin of grapes, including seedless grapes, green grapes and red grapes, 100,000 jin of peaches, 100,000 jin of mangosteens, 200,000 jin of Guiqi mangoes, 100,000 jin of lychees, 200,000 jin of strawberries, 100,000 jin of loquats, 200,000 jin of cantaloupes, 200,000 jin of watermelons, 100,000 jin of cantaloupes, 100,000 jin of dragon fruit, 100,000 jin of kiwifruit, 200,000 jin of coconuts, 300,000 jin of lemons, and 300,000 jin of cherry tomatoes. In addition, he has pre-ordered 100,000 jin each of pomelos, sugarcane, tangerines, mandarins, oranges, jujubes, custard apples, apples, pears, star fruit, and guavas for autumn and winter from fruit merchants."

For domestic fruits, only those in season this year were purchased. For imported fruits such as raspberries, durians, guavas, mangoes, strawberries, and mangosteens, Da Zhuang selected the better varieties and labeled them with specific origin information. Li Yao didn't hesitate and immediately used the [teleportation portal] to go to the fruit farmers' warehouses. It was the peak season for fruit harvesting, so Li Yao bought both the growing areas, greenhouses, and warehouses at the same time.

Back at the villa, Li Yao looked at the shopping list, wondering what food items she was missing. Suddenly, she realized she didn't know how to make dough, so she asked Da Zhuang, "Da Zhuang, did you buy any ready-made noodles?"

Dazhuang said, "Master, Dazhuang bought 200,000 bags each of packaged fresh noodles, vacuum-packed fresh rice noodles, and rice vermicelli, each weighing 500g. He also bought 500,000 packs each of the snail rice noodles, dry-mixed rice noodles, beef noodles, pork tripe and chicken noodles, and duck blood vermicelli that you often eat."

"Master, buy 100,000 bottles of milk powder, both for infants and adults. Also, buy 100,000 boxes of diapers and changing pads. Buy 2,000 pieces of clothing for children aged 1-12. In addition, buy 50 tons of pure cotton fabric in various colors."

Li Yao originally wanted to say that she didn't plan to get married, so where would she get a child? But then she thought that in other novels, the protagonist often transmigrates into a baby. If she were to transmigrate in the future, she might really have to start all over again. So it would be good to have a baby in the future, just in case.

Li Yao felt that the total expenditure on food was 12 small goals, which was acceptable.

After finishing all that, Li Yao had a simple dinner and then asked Da Zhuang to play some soothing music so she could fall asleep peacefully.
