Chapter Thirteen: I Also Think I'm Good-Looking

"What a joke, you wouldn't panic if you saw blood?" Miler continued to argue.

"Panic? If you're panicking, why didn't you say anything? Why hide it?" Ye Qingyan pressed.

What are you all doing?

The instructors and homeroom teachers walked in, and the crowd of onlookers immediately dispersed.

Only Miler and her friends, along with Qingyan and Zhentian, remained, facing each other.

"We'll talk about it after military training," the instructor said.

Miler's friends also returned to their seats.

Suddenly, Ye Qingyan had a flash of inspiration, snatched the stool that was placed in front of Mi Le, and carefully examined the stool legs.

"Haha, I knew it!" Ye Qingyan slammed the chair down on Mi Le's table with a bang. "Let's see how you argue now."

She pointed to a trace of blood on the stool leg and showed it to Mi Le: "This is the evidence that you injured Zhen Tian. There is still blood on your stool leg."

"You're slandering me." Miler looked at the small bloodstain and panicked. She quickly wiped it away and then spread her hands: "There's no blood, it's just a little dirt."

"You...you...you...you've gone too far!" Ye Qingyan grabbed Mi Le's collar.

"Alright, alright, what are you all doing?" The homeroom teacher pulled the two apart.

"Teacher, she..." Ye Qingyan was about to say something when Zhen Tian stopped her. She had also seen the blood. But it was gone now, and no one had seen it.

"Forget it, Qingyan. Don't bother with her." Zhen Tian shook her head.

“The parties involved haven’t said anything, but you’re acting like your mother has died.” Mi Le straightened her clothes.

"Damn it, I'll tear you apart..." Mi Le touched Ye Qingyan's sore spot, and her eyes turned red with anger.

"Alright." The homeroom teacher blocked the two of them: "How could a young girl like you say such vicious things? Stand here and reflect on your actions. You are not allowed to move until I say you can."

Miler was about to say something more, but she held back.

Zhen Tian was a little angry, but she still grabbed Ye Qingyan and shook her little hand: "Don't be angry."

Then, turning to Miler behind him, he said, "We're all classmates, and I didn't originally intend to pursue anything against you. But you need to know that doing bad things will bring retribution. I really advise you, you're so young, don't say such vicious things."

"Pah! What are you pretending to be, you good guy?"

Ye Qingyan calmed down and glared fiercely at Mi Le, grabbing Zhen Tian: "Tian Tian, you're right, she'll get her comeuppance."

Mi Le took a step back, startled by Ye Qingyan's gaze.

From that moment on, the feud between Mi Le and Zhen Tianye Qingyan was officially established.

Zhen Tian was still a little annoyed. This was the first time she had ever experienced something like this. She thought that since they were all classmates, they would get along well.

Hearing her words, Ye Qingyan scoffed and pushed Zhen Tian's forehead: "How can you be so naive? There are too many evil people in this world."

Zhen Tian stuffed a mouthful of spicy hot pot into her mouth: "Okay."

After a moment of silence, Ye Qingyan changed the subject: "But your brother is really too handsome, so charming."

"Um?"

"It's your brother who came to pick you up from the hospital. Your family has such good genes! You're so cute, and your brother is so handsome."

"You're very pretty too," Zhen Tian said sincerely.

Ye Qingyan covered her face and stomped her feet twice: "Really? I also think I'm pretty. Hahahaha."

After pretending for a couple of minutes, she couldn't help but burst into wild laughter.

"Really. I think if you study art, you'll definitely become a big star in the future."

"Hahaha, how can you be so kind?" Ye Qingyan pinched Zhen Tian's cheek again: "Eat quickly, and I'll buy you an iced drink after you finish."

The week of military training passed quickly. Although it was called a week, the school only trained for three and a half days before giving the students a break, announcing that classes would officially start next Monday. They also said to bring tuition and book fees, and there were a bunch of other miscellaneous requirements.

Zhen Tian stayed home and read comic books for several more days.

The books were laid out flat on the balcony table. She jogged to the refrigerator, grabbed an ice cream cone, thought for a moment, and then ran to the study. There was a special shelf in the study for her to store snacks. Later, when it was full, she just tossed them in a corner of the study and stored them in several boxes.

It wasn't that she ate a lot, it was that she loved to shop, and every time she went to the supermarket, she would stock up on a bunch of things and leave them there. Over time, she accumulated more and more stuff. Back in her bedroom, she took a small plate of chocolate chips from the newly added chocolate chip machine in the display case and took it to the balcony.

She felt incredibly at ease when the place was piled high with food.

She read the comic book quickly, and time slipped away. Before she knew it, it was dark. She turned on the balcony light, and every now and then she would crane her neck to look down, and then look down again, until she saw that tall, slender figure returning.

"Mom, Mom, Zhizhi is back! Time to heat up the food."

She dropped her book and ran out of the living room calling for Lu Ti.

After a while, there was a knock on the Zhen family's door.

"Welcome home, Zhizhi."

Zhen Tian shook the sand hammer that had been sitting on the cabinet by the door.

"Uncle and Aunt, I'm back." Ji Yuzhi took off his shoes and walked into the living room, with Zhen Tian hanging on his arm.

"Sit down for a moment, the soup will be ready soon," Lu Ti replied from the kitchen.

Ever since Ji Yu started high school, Lu Ti has always given him an extra meal after dinner. Sometimes it's soup, sometimes it's porridge, and sometimes it's various kinds of tonics.

He refused a few times at first, but he just couldn't refuse, and now he's gotten used to it.

"You must be tired from school, come here, Auntie made you oxtail soup today."

"They're here."

Zhen Tian sat next to Ji Yuzhi and always managed to get an extra meal.

Ji Yuzhi was given a large bowl, but Zhen Tian was given only a small bowl.

She ate very quickly, and after finishing, she stared longingly at the meat in Ji Yuzhi's bowl.

While Lu Ti wasn't looking, Ji Yuzhi picked out all the meat for her. Zhen Tian smiled and tugged at his sleeve, then buried her head in her food.

Lu Ti, with her back to this side, shook her head. She then served Ji Yuzhi a separate bowl of meat.

Upon learning that she had been caught, Zhen Tian was not afraid and watched Ji Yuzhi eat slowly and methodically.

"Thank you, Auntie." He would say this every time he finished eating.

From childhood to adulthood, the cost of food alone at Zhen Tian's house must have been considerable. His parents knew this, so they would always search the world for strange and unusual trinkets to give to Zhen Tian. Some were quite valuable, while others were simply for fun.

Although his aunt and uncle never had any objections, he was still grateful for it.

"You're welcome. Xiaoyu, go back and take a shower after you finish eating, and get some rest. You must be tired after a day of classes."

"It's alright. Then I..."

"Just you come here." Before he could finish speaking, Zhen Tian pulled him to her bedroom.

"This child!" Lu Ti sighed and began to clear the dishes and put them in the dishwasher.
