Yue Jiuyue slept until the afternoon.
She's been sleeping well these past few days. When she falls asleep, she sleeps very soundly and most people can't wake her up. It's as if she's trying to make up for all the fatigue she suffered before.
After coaxing Xiaoman'er to eat lunch and take a nap, Liu continued to dig holes in the lake. Unexpectedly, she dug up several more clam shells, but unfortunately, none of them contained pearls.
Little Man'er had a good memory and knew that the "strange stone" couldn't be found inside a clam shell, so she dragged Liu Shi around digging for an entire afternoon. When she learned that her father and her two children had returned, there were three more people digging the hole.
"What is Xiaoman doing? Why does she have to dig a hole here?"
Lin Chaobei asked curiously.
"Sigh, this afternoon when I was making cornbread, my mother was dragged over by my little girl to dig a hole. My mother dug up a clam and pulled out a pearl. My little girl remembered it and wanted one too. But I wasn't very lucky. I dug for a while and it's already late this afternoon. I've dug up a lot of clam shells, but I haven't seen any pearls. That's why she called you all over."
Mrs. Liu was quite helpless about her daughter's stubbornness. From her mother-in-law to her, and then to her father and her two uncles, the whole family had to go along with her nonsense.
"A pearl? There really are pearls inside oyster shells? Where are they?"
Upon hearing that there were pearls, Lin Chaonan immediately put down his hoe, eager to see what they looked like.
It wasn't that he hadn't seen what pearls looked like before, but he had never seen them up close like this, especially since his family had dug them up. It was different from when someone wore them on their head and he just glanced at them.
Liu showed them the pearls, and Lin Chaobei murmured a question:
"Why are they so strange? Why are they different from what other people wear on their heads?"
No one present could solve this problem.
Where is our mother?
Lin Chaodong asked.
"At noon, my mother coaxed Xiaoman to dig a hole here for more than an hour. When she got tired, she went back to her room to rest. She didn't eat lunch and hasn't gone out since. She probably hasn't woken up yet."
Liu thought that Yue Jiuyue, who was still half asleep, was lying in bed idly browsing items in the online store. She guessed that they would never understand her dependence on the bed and the blankets.
Now, she has somewhat rediscovered some of the feelings she once had.
That's right, I like so many things and want them all!
But looking at my empty wallet, with a balance of only three or four figures, I can only sigh longingly at the plum blossoms.
After closing the online store, Yue Jiuyue lingered in bed for a while before finally getting up and going for a stroll.
Her three sons had all returned. It wasn't that she hadn't heard them, but she suddenly felt lazy and didn't want to move or talk. She pretended that she hadn't woken up yet and hid in bed browsing the online store, giving her the illusion of looking at her phone under the covers.
However, her current status doesn't allow her to stay in bed any longer; otherwise, her son and daughter-in-law would probably think she's feeling unwell or sick, which would be too much trouble for them.
She was never one to trouble others, and the original owner of this body was a "supermom" who shouldered everything herself. Even if it meant maintaining her persona, she had to get up.
What are you all doing?
Yue Jiuyue looked at her son and daughter-in-law, who were digging through the dried silt at the bottom of the lake, completely bewildered.
Could it be that she talked in her sleep, which is why they are digging here?
Does that mean her ability to "conjure" water has been exposed?
"Mom, we're digging for clam shells!"
Lin Chaobei turned around and grinned, his words reassuring the worried Yue Jiuyue.
