Chapter 23 The camp was attacked, and the zombies actually ran?

Amy comforted herself in her heart, a look of determination in her eyes. She decided to do her best and not cause trouble for everyone. Xu Mo turned around immediately after hearing Andrea's voice. Unlike the first wave of zombies, this wave of zombies was much larger.

Xu Mo turned quickly, his eyes filled with vigilance. He saw the dense swarm of zombies and knew the battle would be even more difficult. Xu Mo could see over twenty of them at a glance, and behind them were even more zombies.

A hint of solemnity flashed across Xu Mo's eyes, and his brow furrowed again. He realized that this would be a severe test. Seeing this, Xu Mo also switched the general-purpose rifle from burst fire to full automatic mode.

Xu Mo's fingers quickly moved on his rifle, switching it to full-auto. His eyes revealed a determination, ready for a greater challenge. Even in full-auto mode, he could kill one, or even multiple, zombies with a single shot.

Xu Mo's eyes were filled with confidence. He believed in his marksmanship. He knew that in this mode, he could more effectively eliminate the zombies. Not to mention, with the support of top-notch marksmanship, he could even use those gun fighting techniques seen in those legendary dramas that made bullets deflect.

Xu Mo's mouth curled up slightly, revealing a proud smile. He was confident in his abilities and was not afraid of any challenge.

The bullet from the muzzle of the general-purpose rifle rushed towards the zombies like a fire snake. These zombies gathered together, making it easier for Xu Mo to deal with them.

Xu Mo pulled the trigger, and bullets rained down like a torrential rain. He watched the zombies fall one after another under the gunfire, and his heart was filled with fighting spirit. With a round of volleys, a large number of zombies in front of him fell to the ground.

Xu Mo looked at the fallen zombies, his eyes revealing a hint of fatigue but also a hint of relief. He knew that he had successfully repelled a wave of zombies. Amy stood behind Xu Mo, looking at the scene in front of her, her eyes filled with shock.

Amy's eyes widened, filled with shock and admiration. She watched Xu Mo's heroic performance, and her admiration for him grew even stronger. Yesterday, Andrea had described to her how Xu Mo had killed hundreds of zombies, and she had been imagining what that scene must have been like. Now she had witnessed it.

A flash of memory flashed through Amy's eyes, and then she was captivated by the scene before her. She finally witnessed Xu Mo's strength with her own eyes, and her heart was filled with emotion. Soon, several more screams were heard from the camp.

Everyone's mood plummeted again, their eyes filled with fear and despair. The screams reminded them that the danger wasn't over yet. Everyone in the camp shuddered, but now no one was distracted by the screams; everyone was focused on dealing with the remaining zombies.

Everyone suppressed their inner fear, their eyes filled with concentration. They knew they couldn't be distracted at this moment and had to go all out to deal with the zombies. The battle lasted for an unknown amount of time, but they eventually wiped out all the zombies in the camp.

After a long and intense battle, the group finally achieved victory. Their faces were filled with fatigue, yet also with a hint of relief. The sky was turning pale.

The sky gradually turned pale, signaling the arrival of a new day. This dawn seemed to bring a glimmer of hope to everyone, a touch of warmth. The remaining survivors in the camp were clearing away the bodies.

The survivors silently cleared the bodies, their movements heavy and slow. A hint of sadness lingered in each of their eyes, grieving for their lost companions. Some were survivors, but most were zombies.

Everyone looked at the bodies on the ground, feeling a mixture of emotion. They mourned their lost companions, yet were also grateful for their own survival. "What are the casualties?" Xu Mo asked Rick and Sean as he walked to the center of the camp.

Xu Mo's eyes revealed a hint of concern as he walked over to Rick and Sean. His voice was low, hoping to understand the situation as soon as possible. Sean sighed and said, "Seven people died: Ed, Cami, Lester, and Charles' family."

Sean sighed deeply, his eyes filled with grief. His voice was slightly hoarse as he spoke the names of those who had passed away. Xu Mo also nodded heavily.

Xu Mo's expression was solemn, and he nodded slowly. His eyes revealed a hint of regret, and he felt sad for these innocent lives. Aside from Ai Dehao's death, he felt that the deaths of others were a pity.

Xu Mo pondered silently, a flicker of helplessness in his eyes. He felt sorry for the lives that should have been lost, and heartbroken by the cruelty of this disaster. Theoretically, with him, Rick, and the others present, there shouldn't be any casualties in this zombie raid.

Xu Mo reflected on this, a hint of confusion in his eyes. He didn't understand why people still died, and he felt a surge of remorse. But surprisingly, these zombies could actually run. Although it was only a jog, their speed and threat were much greater than before.

Xu Mo's eyes flashed with shock again, his brow furrowed. He realized that the changes in the zombies had made this battle immensely difficult. The zombies in The Walking Dead did evolve. Later in the series, some could climb stairs, and there were even special zombies called flame zombies (the kind that appeared in the 2024 "Survivor" spin-off). But that was more than a decade in the future; now was the beginning of the apocalypse.

Xu Mo's mind conjured up images of the zombies' future evolution, his eyes filled with worry. He knew the dangers of this world were escalating. "Could it be that my time travel triggered a butterfly effect?" Xu Mo pondered silently.

Xu Mo's eyes revealed a hint of confusion as he pondered over it. He suspected that his time travel had changed the course of the world, and he felt a surge of unease. After thinking for a while, Xu Mo realized that this was the only possible explanation for the changes that had occurred to the zombies.

Xu Mo's eyes gradually grew firmer, as if he had found the answer. He knew he had to face this changed world and be more fully prepared. "It seems this world isn't just a world of the walking dead. I'll have to be more careful in the future," Xu Mo reminded himself mentally.

Xu Mo warned himself mentally, a hint of caution in his eyes. He knew the road ahead was long and dangerous. No one knew if these zombies would change again.
