Chapter 11 Invalid Data

“Ka-ka-ka…”

The sound of mechanical jamming could be heard from time to time, and all the weapons malfunctioned.

“Puff, puff, puff!”

The flickering light bulbs suddenly shattered, and the lighting in the room returned to normal.

Jiang Ling lowered his arms, walked around the half-human-height machines, and headed towards the place where the sound came from.

A shoebox-sized tape recorder appeared before her, its tape nearly full. She pressed the rewind button, rewound the tape to the beginning, and then let it play again.

"Zizizizi~ The bomb will explode in ten seconds. Ten, nine, eight..."

"Damn it!" Jiang Ling shuddered with fear, but then she thought about the structure inside and realized that it couldn't accommodate a bomb at all, but she still stayed away from it.

"Two, one, zero, bang~~Haha, I'm kidding! Please find another door within three minutes, or you'll fail this project."

"What the hell?"

Jiang Ling spread her spiritual power but did not relax her control over the robots. She discovered that this room was actually a secret room. In addition to the small door leading in, there was also a very hidden passage connecting here.

She approached the passage, but was blocked by a wall.

There is indeed a door, but it is a little small.

Just like before, she easily opened the door lock, revealing a dark, round hole that did not look like it was meant for human use.

Her power continued to penetrate deeper inside, and she pulled out a seal as thick as a thumb.

I see.

It turns out that this method was used to test her ability.

However, their targeting is very obvious, and it seems that there are some hidden dangers. I don’t know whether they will patch them in future projects.

Jiang Ling returned the same way and when she passed by the robots she had pinned down, she found that they were still trying to restart their weapon systems.

She shook her head and walked out through the small door.

The whole process didn't take too long, so there was still a long queue here, so she had to go back to the door and line up at the end of the queue.

He passed by the strange man in the white coat for the second time, but this time he seemed to be stopped by the seal in Jiang Ling's hand and did not make the same exaggerated movements as before.

The seal was eventually recovered by them, leaving only a red triangle with a number on the booklet.

Leaving here, following the crowd, they stopped in front of a resin door. The team ahead began to split, and from now on, they could see the true threshold.

There are six rooms in total, and each round lasts from thirty minutes to an hour, with only one person allowed in at a time. Successful players will not appear again, while failures will be led away without a word.

The atmosphere was rather solemn; Jiang Ling could only hear the sound of everyone's breathing. She flipped open the booklet and saw the next item, "Physiological and Pathological Examination," which was clearly a very rigorous full-body examination.

What does this kind of inspection look like?

Is it the same kind of torture-like examination as in the old hospitals?

Jiang Ling also felt a little nervous about the unknown, but she didn't show it on her face. She could vaguely sense people standing behind the door, as well as some advanced machines she had never seen before. Of course, she couldn't use her psychic abilities recklessly here. She didn't want to cause trouble, and some secrets were best not to be explored casually, otherwise it could easily lead to fatal consequences.

Everyone seemed to be wary of each other and no longer as easy-going as before. When it was Jiang Ling's turn, they didn't even bother to look at her.

She walked quietly to the door, took a deep breath, and pushed it open.

Behind the door was another door, and behind that was a passage for removing static electricity. Halfway through the passage, it began to spray water mist at Jiang Ling, and then blew air at her, repeating this cycle several times.

The passage was not long, but the people in the room made her stay in there for a while longer.

"This is weird?" the person inside muttered to himself, "Why hasn't her body surface radiation changed?"

"Do you want to try again? Maybe it's a sensor malfunction?"

"No need for that. I've already done it three times, and nothing was detected in the filter... It's really strange!"

Jiang Ling was finally allowed in, and the first thing she saw was the equipment in the center of the room.

It was a cylindrical machine two people tall, its outer shell composed primarily of off-white plastic, shaped like a capsule. The interior of the capsule was just large enough for a person to lie flat. It was currently tilted, waiting at a 60-degree angle to the ground.

The capsule sat on a circular base, connected to several tubes, one of which led to their control console. From the ceiling directly above it hung several circular metal racks, with rectangular instruments clinging to them. These instruments seemed to be able to move around the rings; they were probably some kind of sensors.

All in all, there's nothing sci-fi about it. In fact, it looks clumsy and crude, nothing like the high-tech of the future.

"Give us your license plates and the record book." A worker in anti-static clothing stepped forward and produced a transparent sealed bag. "No metal objects on your person. If you have any, put them in this."

Jiang Ling handed the things to them. She didn't bring any extra items with her when she left.

The worker used a metal detector to scan her body twice to confirm that nothing was missed before letting her take off her shoes and lie down.

The capsule's opening doesn't even have a hinge; it was disassembled and assembled directly by the workers, secured with two clips. It's not a medical capsule; it's completely airtight. The curved acrylic panel at the opening isn't there to protect the person inside from harm, but to protect the equipment outside from damage.
