The instructor didn't answer, but calmly moved his body away, then made a note on the tablet, asked Jiang Ling to get out of the exoskeleton, and replaced her with the guy with a larger number than her.
Just as Jiang Ling expected, it didn't take Gu Shenzhou long to complete the instructor's requirements - the visor display design of the exoskeleton was very similar to the HUD on the smart fighter, which gave her a strong sense of déjà vu as she used to play games frequently.
The veteran pilot's success gave the remaining crew members immense confidence. Without even the instructor's prompting, the third member volunteered to step forward and reach for what he thought was the rear access door for the exoskeleton. Unfortunately, his search was empty. The handle on the fourth-generation exoskeleton wasn't located on the side of the shoulder like the third-generation design typically found in the Army, but rather at the center of the lower back. He reached for the shoulder's space armrest, yanking twice and nearly toppling the exoskeleton over.
Fortunately, the instructor was knowledgeable and simply told the guy to stand aside and watch the next person's operation without getting angry. The next few people had their own strengths and weaknesses, and their completion of the instructions varied, but this time they were just given a rough inspection and were quickly asked to rejoin the team.
“Pah pah pah!”
After the seven people stood in a row again, the instructor clapped his hands for silence, then spoke with full energy, "I believe you all have some understanding of our aerospace-specific exoskeleton. I see that your current operating skills vary. This may be due to differences in past experiences. Don't be discouraged. Tomorrow, we will begin full-equipment underwater suspension training. You will have ample time to familiarize yourself with the operation, maintenance, inspection, and installation of the exoskeleton. You still have two hours to try it out. If you have any questions, you can ask me. By the way, my last name is Niu, and my station communication code is 03-. During non-training hours, you can come to District 5 to find me and give me my access code."
Everyone was stunned for a moment, then, like a soda bottle ruptured by high-pressure gas, they suddenly dispersed and rushed towards the exoskeleton they had just toyed with. Their frenzied thirst for knowledge startled the instructor, who quickly grabbed his tablet and scurried out of the crowd. He then nervously watched as the men operated the exoskeleton, fearing they might injure themselves through improper operation.
Jiang Ling did not join them, but followed Gu Shenzhou fearlessly and hid next to the cargo box.
"What is underwater suspension training?" She looked at the people fiddling with the exoskeleton and asked the pilot.
"Isn't it in the memory chip?" Gu Shenzhou asked suspiciously, but he still answered what he thought was a bit of a nonsense question. "That's a substitute for the weightlessness training, the one that ended last month. I guess their weightlessness training room has certain usage restrictions. We'll wear exoskeletons and operate the mysterious spacecraft in the payload bay underwater. Of course, it's just a one-to-one model."
"Aren't you curious?" Jiang Ling continued to ask.
"What's coming will eventually come. And who knows, tomorrow, your curiosity might turn into fear. Distance creates a mysterious beauty, but until you face it, you'll never know whether it's a beautiful and sacred statue or a twisted and terrifying monster."
