The five people's mutant forms each have their own advantages and disadvantages, but overall some differences can be seen.
The three with buzz cuts weren't good at hand-to-hand combat. They were relatively small, covered in striped fur, and relied on speed to win.
In contrast, the other two had chitinous shells that reflected light and sharp bone spurs on their joints, which all revealed their terrifying strength.
The brief truce did not bring peace, but instead made the smell of gunpowder in the air even stronger.
The door of the cafeteria was like a barrier, isolating the noise outside from the dead silence inside. There was no sound between the five big guys, only the occasional sound of Jiang Ling chewing.
"Patta~" Jiang Ling put the aluminum spoon on the plate.
With this as a signal, the battle broke out instantly.
Three speedsters leaped onto the dining table, leaving footprints on the alloy surface and creating several shadowy shadows in the air. Their speed was so rapid that even the surveillance cameras couldn't capture them. Their striped fur acted as perfect camouflage. They darted and darted around, and the shifting colors would throw off the judgement of distance if one wasn't paying attention.
The two heavily armored monsters possessed multiple pairs of compound eyes. Their necks had almost completely atrophied, their heads tucked into their shoulders, their bodies resembling a conical roadblock. This surface structure provided incredible defensive power. Therefore, they remained motionless for the time being, using their eyes to discern any incoming threats.
Jiang Ling's reaction ability naturally kept up with their speed. She saw several people circle around the two of them twice, and then each of them found a tricky angle and pounced on them.
The techniques used by these people are all from the bottom three directions, focusing on exploiting the gaps in the defender's defense.
A chitinous exoskeleton powered by biohydraulic muscles blocked two of the attackers, but the third circumvented their defenses. Four sharp claws grazed a heavily armored compound eye, leaving two blue-green bloody streaks.
“Drink!!!”
The pain made the heavy armor type become irritable. He swung his heavy armor faster, causing greater destructive power but also creating more flaws.
Strength trumps skill. He unleashed a tremendous force, snatching up the Speed-Type standing in front of him and then, even faster, hurling him hard to the ground. Almost instantly, the sound of bones shattering could be heard from not far away. The Speed-Type, unable to dodge in time, had completely lost his fighting ability.
Of course, he won't die, but he will probably have to stay in the hospital for a few days.
The injured Heavy Armored Type hadn't unleashed any more force on the incapacitated man, and his current condition wasn't much better. In the past few seconds, he'd incurred numerous new wounds in areas unprotected by his armor. Perhaps once the adrenaline wore off, he'd collapse from exhaustion.
Mutants' tactics were limited. Given their sheer mass and speed, any unusual action could lead to complete defeat. Their power rendered certain killing techniques unnecessary, and close combat like martial arts became a joke.
Technology is only a means to make up for the gap. When the gap is too big, other things often become the ones that tip the scales of victory.
"A true warrior will not rely on external things!" The last heavy armored type roared and rushed towards the other two.
"The car is not working, don't blame the uneven road!" The two men also went forward.
Of course, the heavy armor type won in the end, but its victory was not complete.
When the last guy still standing was knocked down by the quick reaction force's stun gun, Jiang Ling, a leisurely person, was the only one left at the scene.
"Hey! Don't make any unnecessary movements! Put your hands up where I can see them!"
More than a dozen lasers focused on Jiang Ling, and two groups of people surrounded the scene from a distance.
"Hey guys, I didn't do anything."
Facing the black muzzle of the gun, Jiang Ling tried to argue, but those stubborn guys didn't want to talk at all.
Fifteen minutes later, all those who were considered troublemakers in the cafeteria were taken away by the heroic site guards, and the remaining mess was quickly cleaned up by the hardworking robots.
Jiang Ling was escorted to a government office, where she drank some tea before someone came to solve her problem.
When those idiots faced her, they all treated her as a formidable enemy and took full protective measures, as if they thought she was the mastermind behind the incident.
And when the interrogation ended after the fighters regained consciousness, the repeated cries of "I don't know", "I didn't see it", and "what woman" made their hearts and minds rise to their throats.
Fortunately, after those people reported the case, it was quickly suppressed by their superiors, and it did not cause any commotion. Seeing her smug look, they could only threaten her with fierce eyes and reluctantly let her go.
Jiang Ling naturally did not do anything to their memories, and she was too lazy to increase their strength. It was simply that those who fought were sensible and did not reveal their mental conversations.
In fact, they had noticed her from the beginning and had even asked about her using subtle body language.
"It's okay, you guys fight your way through."
Nine people heard this sentence in their minds at the same time, which showed that she was someone who could not be provoked. Fortunately, she had no hostility, which led to the fight.
Otherwise, this would never have happened in the first place!
Jiang Ling felt refreshed after walking out of the yamen. She stretched outside the door, then walked around nearby before leisurely returning to the dormitory.
It was already late at night when we returned, and there were new changes on the floor where we were staying.
