Three hours later, confirmatory repeat testing was also completed.
All active detection methods had no effect on her, only a few primitive passive sensors were still working.
Although her physical condition was beyond everyone's expectations, the main criteria of the project had actually been met, and the leading military doctor gritted his teeth and signed his name on the document.
Jiang Ling wasn't stuck for long before letting them out. There weren't many more trainees outside than when she arrived, as this type of project was incredibly time-consuming.
The rooms here are distributed like a fishbone. Take two more steps forward and you will reach the next item.
There was nothing special about the examination method this time, and Jiang Ling found a familiar feeling.
She sat in an ergonomic chair and let the staff put a helmet-like device on her. Although the shape of the machine had indeed changed, she recognized its essence at a glance - the visor of an exoskeleton.
"Did you see the bright spot on the screen?"
"Oh, is that an eye tracker?"
"Almost the same, but much more sensitive than that. I'm going to move the bright spot, just keep your eyes on it... Okay, calibration is complete. Next..."
Red, yellow, and blue lasers, projected from a device near her forehead, were projected onto the pale yellow shell in front of her, forming an image. Jiang Ling's reaction was so fast that she could even see the flashing beams of light.
"A dot image?"
"Dot image? Isn't that a demonstration animation? Wait a minute, I'll zoom out a bit."
As the three-color virtual image on the visor gradually shrank in proportion, she was gradually able to see clearly what was in front of her.
A three-dimensional colorful sphere appeared one meter away, its top regularly divided into 1296 hexagons, each hexagon was painted in a different color, and the overall look was like a rainbow.
A ring appeared around the sphere, consisting of a line of tightly packed equilateral triangles, like an arrow, with all the extra third corners pointing outward.
Jiang Ling focused her attention on the triangle, and the sphere immediately began to slowly rotate in the direction of the triangle. This method of operation was very simple, and she quickly became familiar with it.
Soon after, the sphere began to change. Several bright hexagons appeared on the surface, and several bright areas also appeared in the outer triangles.
Jiang Ling felt a sense of déjà vu. She focused her attention on the bright spots. The bright spots immediately flashed three times before dimming to match the surrounding brightness.
She tried a few more times, and it seemed that she had to stay on those highlighted areas for a second to complete a task.
"Are you ready?" The voice of the previous staff member came to my ear.
"Okay!" Jiang Ling replied.
"Okay, let's move on to the next step."
As soon as he finished speaking, the sphere began to spin at a speed of three revolutions per minute. Twenty-six bright blocks appeared simultaneously on it, randomly scattered across its surface. After the sphere made only one rotation, all the bright blocks dimmed, and then its direction flickered, shifting to an unknown angle.
Obviously, it wants Jiang Ling to find the highlighted blocks, but this is really difficult and tests her reaction and short-term memory.
"Don't worry, take your time. If you choose correctly, you'll get extra points. If you choose incorrectly, you'll lose points. The time limit is five minutes... Pfft! What the hell?"
On the display screen of the control instrument, every second, the highlighted area on the sphere would be accurately selected by two small circles. Those two small circles represented Jiang Ling's sight. Her speed was so fast that they left afterimages on the screen.
After 35 seconds, all the highlighted blocks were found. If the rotation speed of the sphere could be faster, her speed could be even faster.
The picture in front of her dimmed, and her score was also calculated by the system.
"You scored 3400 points, and the passing score is 160 points. In short, congratulations." The man looked incredulous and at one point suspected that there was something wrong with the system.
"What's the total score?"
"There's no total score. This test uses a dynamic counting method. It primarily looks at the number of cells your brain can mobilize per unit time. Honestly, I thought you were cheating."
The staff member gave a brief explanation, but the technical terms he used made Jiang Ling a little confused.
"How much can others do?" Jiang Ling asked.
"We can't tell you that, but pre-war data showed that the average person scored between 70 and 120. Our research on the human brain is still very rudimentary, and with only a few years of technical expertise, we've barely grasped how it works." The man spoke eloquently about his expertise. "The human brain is very similar to a quantum computer. Our most common record is someone who can do five things at once!"
Leaving here, turning right at the end of the fish bone, and passing through a short passage, Jiang Ling came to a circular room.
There were a few people ahead of her, two of whom she was familiar with. But in reality, the number of people who could successfully pass the first thirty or so training sessions was already very small.
"No. 032?" Jiang Ling poked the back of the person in front of him.
"Oh, it's you. You're pretty fast~!" He turned his head and took a look, immediately showing a happy expression.
"Where is your roommate?" Jiang Ling asked.
"He is much faster than me, so he is inside now!" No. 032 replied.
