Chapter 108 A Chance Encounter

Xia Chuhe set aside his shame and carefully observed everyone's face.

There were middle-aged women, other workers from different departments, and two roommates.

After searching, Xia Chuhe couldn't find hers, and she breathed a sigh of relief.

Although I don't know what these scoundrels are up to, even a fool would know it's something bad. We should make a run for it before we're exposed.

Xia Chuhe left the hummingbird there to record the video; she was going to check out the other workshops and the third and fourth floors.

Xia Chuhe had only taken a few steps when the hummingbird followed and burrowed straight into her neck.

Xia Chuhe looked behind him and saw nothing strange. Could it be that the little bird was afraid of the dark?

Since it didn't want to stay alone at the workshop entrance, Xia Chuhe didn't force it.

One person, one egg, and two animals quietly made their way to the next workshop.

The scene in the next workshop was similar to what we had just seen: little figures repairing bodies and taking something from the workers.

The difference is that the little figures in this workshop are male, and the workers are a different group of workers.

Finding nothing new, Xia Chuhe headed to the third floor.

The third floor still houses multiple workshops. The little figures in the workshops are no longer made of chocolate, but have a lifelike texture. Xia Chuhe is unsure what material they are made of.

The skin, so similar to that of a human, sent shivers down Xia Chuhe's spine. She didn't linger on the third floor; she went straight to the top floor, the fourth.

As Xia Chuhe walked up the stairs, he noticed that something was wrong on the fourth floor.

Starting from the corner of the staircase, the staircase is clearly divided into the section belonging to the third floor and the section belonging to the fourth floor.

The section of the stairs leading to the fourth floor was covered in a thick layer of dust, leaving a gray footprint with every step, indicating that no one had been there for a long time.

Xia Chuhe did not hesitate and continued to move towards the fourth floor.

The fourth floor was completely quiet. The workshop was not in operation. There were no little figures or human figures inside, only a few old, dusty assembly lines with rust seeping out from the rollers.

Xia Chuhe placed his wrist on the crack in the door and instructed Black Snake, "Go in and take a look."

The little black snake hissed and flicked its tongue.

Xia Chuhe pinched its tongue: "Go quickly!"

The little black snake, in its impotent rage, squeezed Xia Chuhe, then crawled through the crack in the door and climbed along the door panel and walls, making its way around the workshop.

The workshop remained quiet.

After the little black snake returned safely and showed no abnormalities, Xia Chuhe opened the door and entered the workshop.

As soon as he entered, Xia Chuhe noticed the difference in the workshop on the fourth floor.

The equipment in the workshop is completely different from the equipment on the second and third floors.

The equipment on the second and third floors is mainly used for pressing molds. The bottom of the equipment is a mold for pressing various internal organs and parts. A gentle press can produce a whole bunch of them.

The equipment on the fourth floor all had sharp points and blades, seemingly used to make some kind of metal.

There are also tools on the assembly line.

On the assembly lines on the second and third floors, workers can complete their work by hand; the only tools available are gloves.

On the assembly line on the fourth floor, many needle-like objects were hanging.

Xia Chuhe went closer to take a look and could only recognize some of the tools that looked like small screws, as well as a small laser head used for engraving. He had never seen the other tools before.

Although the workshop was covered in dust, there was nothing in it other than equipment.

Xia Chuhe explored the workshop but couldn't figure out what it was for. He could only be sure that the things made in the fourth-floor workshop were related to metal.

In the second workshop on the fourth floor, Xia Chuhe stepped on something with her injured foot, and the pain almost made her cry out.

Xia Chuhe felt around on the ground and found a few small screws and a few pieces of iron that he didn't know what they were for.

Just to be on the safe side, Xia Chuhe put the things he found into the farm's warehouse.

After exploring the factory, Xia Chuhe decided to go back to sleep and think about how to get the elevator card.

Xia Chuhe tiptoed downstairs.

As soon as Xia Chuhe reached the stairs, he dared not move.

The bottom of the stairs was densely packed with tiny chocolate figures.

When the little children saw Xia Chuhe, they immediately jumped and rushed forward, just like a group of starving ghosts seeing the canteen open.

The little figures huddled together, climbing the stairs in a jostling fashion. As they climbed, they were choked by the dust kicked up and had to bend over.

Xia Chuhe suspected that they were coughing because they were choked by dust.

Faced with the enormous number of tiny people, Xia Chuhe was instantly overwhelmed by the fear of ants killing an elephant.

Xia Chuhe didn't have time to think about why he had been exposed. With a flick of his hand, a wall of fire was erected on the stairs.

A series of creaking and groaning sounds came from down the stairs.

Through the thin flame, Xia Chuhe saw the chocolate slowly melting.

The little people's already indistinct features became a jumbled mess, their delicate fingers and toes stuck together, their limbs gradually became thin and short, and chocolate gradually spilled all over the stairs and the ground.

Seeing that the flames were effective, Xia Chuhe was invigorated and immediately increased the heat, turning the staircase into a large high-temperature oven.

The ground was gradually covered with bursting chocolate.

Countless villains perished and disappeared, countless villains retreated to the workshop, and no villain dared to obstruct Xia Chuhe.

Xia Chuhe extinguished the flames, stepped on the sticky "corpse" of the little man, and gloriously went downstairs.

When Xia Chuhe first stepped into the chocolate mud, apart from it being a little sticky, he didn't notice anything unusual.

The further down the path Xia Chuhe went, the slower his pace became.

Xia Chuhe hesitated before taking a step. What was she supposed to do? Wasn't it bedtime? Why wasn't she sleeping in her dorm?

Xia Chuhe paused for another step. How did she get into the factory? Did she just come down from the fourth floor? What's on the fourth floor again?

Xia Chuhe went up to the third floor. Was there a night shift? Should she go to work on the assembly line?

With that thought in mind, Xia Chuhe slowly walked towards the workshop.

She paused briefly at the workshop entrance; many of her coworkers had already arrived.

Huh?

Why is there someone inside who looks exactly like me?

Xia Chuhe was about to push the door open when he felt a sharp pain in his wrist.

The small black snake wrapped around Xia Chuhe's wrist bit him.

This snake?

It appears to have come from a farm.

Oh, right, the farm! I come from the farm! There are treasures on the farm!

Xia Chuhe grinned foolishly as he picked up two flints from the farm. Unaware of what was happening, he struck them together, and the flames fell to the ground and reignited.

As the flames burned, Xia Chuhe's reason gradually returned.

Xia Chuhe quickly took a few steps back.

If it weren't for the little black snake's warning, this would have been a very dangerous situation!

Why were these chocolate figures still able to affect her mind after they died?

Xia Chuhe lowered his head.

She only did one thing: step in the chocolate mud. Does that count as contact?

Recalling the scene of the chocolatier constantly touching people in the workshop, it seemed that as long as you touched them, the chocolatier would steal your food.

While the flames were still burning, Xia Chuhe took out a shovel and began shoveling away at the chocolate mud, finally clearing a clean path for himself.

After the chocolate on the ground was shoveled away, Xia Chuhe understood why he had been exposed.

There was a small bloodstain at the entrance of the workshop, and the blood had seeped into the workshop.

The bloodstains were located where she had been standing when she was peeking into the workshop.
