Chapter 20 I’m on your household registration book, where can I go?

His eyes were deep, and looking deeper, one encountered a layer of coldness. It was the gloomy and cold coldness that came from the original character of human beings.

His eyes were burning as he looked at her, as if he wanted to burn her.

Ji Qianchong was a little frightened by his gaze. This expression was indeed fierce.

She was about to say something when the man pressed the back of her head and pulled her into his arms.

He bent down and slowly approached. He gently brushed the tip of his thumb against her bruised lips, his eyes filled with guilt. "I'm sorry."

She could feel that the four years he was away had changed him.

But no matter how he changed, he was still gentle in front of her. Perhaps her words had irritated a nerve in him, and he had done this for no apparent reason.

"It's okay." The girl stood on tiptoe and kissed him on the face.

To ease the atmosphere, he said, "There's a surveillance camera in the elevator, and you didn't even notice it. After getting married, are you still afraid that I'll run away?"

He looked at her seriously and said, "Your legs are on your body. I won't know when you run away."

Ji Qianchong was amused by him, "Where can I go? My grandfather passed away, and the Qian family moved me out. My household registration is under your name, and you are also my guardian. Where can I go?"

The elevator dinged and arrived at the basement floor.

Ji Qianchong glanced at him, took his hand and walked out. "There's a fountain show at Ocean Park tonight. If you go too late, it will be over."

**

It was already 10:30 in the evening when we returned to Beishan Villa from Ocean Park.

Ji Qianchong played for too long today and fell asleep in the car.

Xia Song opened the door, but before he could say anything, he understood Ji Liangnian's expression. He took two steps back and watched Ji Liangnian carry Ji Qianchong upstairs.

Half an hour later, the man came downstairs in his home clothes.

Xia Song walked over and said respectfully, "Master Jiu, the servants have brought all of Madam's belongings from the Qian family. The things from the Qian family mansion in Haicheng have also been transported here and are all packed up."

In the living room, there are a bunch of small gadgets on the European-style coffee table.

It’s old and has been there for some time.

Ji Liangnian walked over and sat on the sofa. He picked up a red cherry hairpin and glanced at it.

There was a dazed moment when the image of the girl wearing a hairpin and smiling seemed to flash through my mind.

Beneath some small toys was a photo album, which Ji Liangnian took out and flipped to the first page, revealing a photo of Ji Qianchong when he was eight years old.

There are two more words below - Qian Chong.

The writing was rather mechanical, as if someone was holding her hand and writing each stroke.

Xia Song stood beside Ji Liangnian.

As he flipped through the album, Xia Song also saw the photo. There was a photo of a couple on the upper left of the third page. When the faces of the man and woman in the photo caught his eye, Xia Song was stunned.

That was what Jiu Ye looked like when he was young.

**

When Ji Qianchong woke up, it was already late at night.

The curtains on the floor-to-ceiling windows were half drawn, and the stars in the night sky outside the window floated into the room, adding a touch of twilight to the night.

Before she opened her eyes, she stretched out her arm and touched the place beside her.

Cold.

No one.

The girl sat up, grabbed the stuffed animal on the bedside table, and got out of bed. She rubbed her eyes and walked out of the bedroom.

While calling out, "Brother?" After a few words, he continued, "Liangnian?"

Across from the bedroom was the study, so Ji Qianchong walked towards it. When he reached the door, he grabbed the door handle and opened it.

As the door opened, the field of vision expanded and the man's face came into view.

He was sitting on a chair with a computer in front of him, as if he was working.

The girl held the plush rabbit's ears in her left hand, dragging its feet on the ground, and walked over to that side.

Hearing the door open, the man raised his head and saw the girl standing at the door in a white nightgown, sleepy-eyed.

His confused little look made people feel soft-hearted for a moment.

Seeing her coming over, Ji Liangnian turned off the computer. The next second, the girl was sitting on his lap, her head resting on his chest, eyes closed.

Like falling asleep.
