Jiang Ying's belated vow

Jiang Yingchi: "Please speak."

Ning Fengmian turned around and looked up at the overhead window: "If you really find yourself in a situation beyond your control, please send my daughter back to us safely. Our Qi family will protect her. You don't need to pretend. Even if you have complete control, we can't afford to lose our daughter."

This is probably the knot in Ning Fengmian's heart all along.

Jiang Yingchi slowly raised her lowered eyelids, her voice firm at that moment: "I will withdraw from the Governor's Office. Please give me another year."

Ning Fengmian, whose mood had already calmed down, suddenly turned around upon hearing this, looking at Jiang Yingchi with disbelief, as if he had misheard: "You just said you wanted to leave the Governor's Mansion?"

Jiang Yingchi: "Yes."

Ning Fengmian was initially incredulous, then sneered: "You hold such an important position in Manchester, with power in your hands and everything within your grasp. Would you give all of that up for my daughter?"

"Besides, a year? You've spent ten years getting to where you are now. Do you think you can just quit in a year?"

Therefore, Ning Fengmian did not believe a single word of these words.

I was even a little annoyed.

She had already spoken frankly, but Jiang Yingchi was still saying things to fool her. How could she not be angry?

Just when Ning Fengmian didn't believe a word of it, she heard Jiang Yingchi say, "It's been a year now because I've been preparing for two years. It will only take three years to withdraw from the Governor's Mansion."

Ning Fengmian was suddenly stunned.

This is even more shocking than when I heard him say he was leaving the governor's office.

Once again, I thought I must have misheard: "Now that I've already given my consent, there's no need for you to make these unrealistic promises anymore."

Jiang Yingchi asked, "So, what would you like to hear?"

Ning Fengmian pursed his lips, seemingly trying to discern the truth from falsehood on Jiang Yingchi's face.

But it's not obvious.

The most direct and effective way is, she said, "Swear that all vows made to me will be fulfilled."

As long as Jiang Yingchi dares to swear an oath.

She believed it.

I believe he had indeed been preparing for two years to leave the governor's office.

Rarely, Jiang Yingchi revealed a cool, faint smile on his face, and said the words: "If these words are false, I will surely have an unfortunate old age."

If this statement is false, I will surely meet an untimely end in my later years.

That's a terrible oath!

He cursed himself, wishing for an unfortunate old age!

Ning Fengmian thought he would either disdain making oaths or only say he would be struck by lightning, but he never expected that he would curse himself to have an unfortunate old age.

At this moment, Ning Fengmian was moved.

How many men in the world would go to such lengths for their woman? But Jiang Yingchi could. He could wait for Luo Luo for years, he could go to Sun City to perform full-body prostrations for her, he could prepare to leave the Governor's Mansion two years in advance, and he could do even more…

He could still make such a vicious oath for Luo Luo!

“Zhenzhou always tells me he’s not mistaken, but I don’t believe it until now… He really isn’t mistaken; it’s me who’s mistaken.” Ning Fengmian said with a gentle smile, “I’m entrusting my daughter to you. Take good care of her. She has many bad tempers and is willful. Try to be tolerant of her. Or if you have a little more patience, you can teach her. She’s actually very obedient. To avoid making me angry, she’s always been considerate of my feelings.”

After saying these words, Ning Fengmian instantly felt much relieved.

My mood has calmed down.

As he passed by Jiang Yingchi, he paused for a moment and said, "I'm sorry."
