Chapter Thirty: The Old Lady Returns

The rat coldly stared at the unconscious hyena lying on the hospital bed, then quietly went to a pile of instruments and tubes. It then pushed over a portable oxygen cylinder, bit the valve with its teeth, waited a while, sniffed the air, and then resolutely bit a bent wire and inserted it into the power strip...

With a loud "bang," the rat was blasted away and crashed heavily against the wall, lifeless. Only a pool of blood remained on the wall, blooming like an eerie blood flower...

The power to the entire ICU suddenly stopped due to a short circuit, and all sorts of instruments stopped working, plunging the entire ICU into darkness.

The scattered sparks from the rats, upon contact with the oxygen, instantly ignited into flames as tall as a person. These flames quickly spread to the isolation membrane, which then began to burn. The fire then spread to the oxygen tubes supplying oxygen to the hyenas, and soon engulfed the entire ICU!

"Something terrible has happened! There's a fire in the suspect's hospital room!" a nurse rushed into the conference room and said.

The group of doctors were stunned for a moment before they started running toward the ICU where the hyenas were located.

The room was filled with thick smoke, and it was unclear what the situation was like inside. The police officers guarding the room also looked grim, knowing they were about to be severely reprimanded and possibly punished.

"Stop! You think everyone will think you're dead so you can get away with it? Put your hands behind your head and slowly turn around!" A police officer pointed a stun gun at a person wearing a hospital gown and said.

The person in the hospital gown held their head in their hands, then slowly turned around and walked step by step toward the police officer.

The police officer, holding a stun gun, saw the stun gun crackling with purple arcs of electricity as it slowly approached, and prepared to fight.

Just then, the suspect suddenly opened his mouth and spat out countless insects that attacked the police officer. The officer was caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the insects and was covered in them. He frantically swatted at the insects, while the suspect disappeared into the crowd of onlookers...

"What? The suspect's emergency room is on fire?" The police chief jumped up from his chair and asked.

"Yes, the hospital has already called the fire department, and the fire should be extinguished soon," a police officer said.

"We need to thoroughly investigate what caused the fire. I feel this case is far from simple; perhaps some people were trying to cover it up with murder!" the police chief said.

"We understand. The police are here now. I need to report the situation to them," the police officer said, hanging up the phone. Then, looking at the two police officers walking towards him, he went to meet them...

"Are you here to guard this suspect?" a policeman asked the officer.

“Yes, and there’s also my colleague. The two of us are here guarding this suspect,” the police officer replied.

"Which of you two was on duty here when the fire broke out?"

"It's me."

"Don't you sense anything unusual or suspicious while you're here?"

“Two hours ago, a nurse went in to change the IV bag for the suspect, and I went in and followed her the whole time. There was nothing unusual.”

Where is this nurse?

"They've been brought under our control."

"I'll go check on this nurse, you go check the surveillance footage around here," the policeman said, then told another officer to lead the way to find out about the nurse, while the other officer went to the main monitoring room to check the surveillance footage...

"Lixia, where should you be now?" The hyena arrived at Lixia's villa and saw that it was in a mess, with a group of property management staff still cleaning up the dead wasps and broken glass everywhere...

Seeing this, the hyena should have realized that Lixia, like itself, was being targeted and wanted to be killed. Lying in the hospital, just as the flames were about to engulf it, it was suddenly awakened by excruciating pain. The worm inside its head sensed the danger and desperately tried to escape, but the scorpion venom on its body was extremely potent, trapping the worm and preventing its escape.

After waking up in pain, my mind went blank, and when I came to my senses, I was already in a crowd.

"A rat?" The surveillance footage shows that just as the police officer and the nurse went in, a fat rat scurried into the ICU through the door crack. Then, the rat knocked over the portable oxygen cylinder and turned on the valve...

The policeman frowned as he watched everything unfold on the surveillance camera, feeling somewhat incredulous. On the surface, the incident appeared to be an accident, but judging from the rat's behavior, it seemed as if someone was manipulating it.

"We've finally arrived. This place should be very safe now, right?" Li Xia stretched and looked at the rows of houses at the foot of the mountain before saying.

To escape the curse on her, Li Xia took a car to her rural hometown. The environment there was very beautiful, with rows of old houses at the foot of rolling green hills.

A main road in the village extends all the way to the river. The river is about 33 meters wide, and the water flows slowly under the wooden bridge built by the villagers themselves, without any rush or slowness. The water is very clear.

Li Xia felt that the journey from the city to her hometown was countless times more difficult than the eighty-one tribulations of the monk Xuanzang. There were dogs darting out from the roadside, snakes in the grass, all sorts of objects falling from buildings, car accidents, all kinds of bees, scorpions, and even ants...

If it weren't for Ru Huan by my side, I don't know how many times I would have died, and all of them would have been accidents.

"Yu County?" The hyena followed the scent of Li Xia and Ru Huan to the bus station. It had suffered countless injuries along the way. If it weren't for the worm in its head giving it a warning, it might have been dead and gone without a trace.

The hyena sat in the spot where Lixia had sat, and then headed towards Yu County...

"Lixia's villa was also attacked, around the same time as the one at the hospital. It seems there really is a mastermind behind this!" the director said, frowning.

"Knock knock knock..." A knock sounded at the door. The station chief quickly stood up and opened the door, only to find two policemen standing outside.

"You're the head of the local police station in this neighborhood. We're from the Municipal Public Security Bureau, here to take over the cases of Li Xia and this guy called Hyena. Tell us about these two people, and we're taking all the files from the next few days. Don't get involved; we'll handle it." After listening to the head of the station's report, the policeman took all the files and left.

"Shangguan Qiangwei, what do you mean? Do you think I'm not dying fast enough?" Director Mao roared after getting through to the phone number Shangguan Qiangwei had given him, his fat face trembling with rage.

"What's wrong, Director Mao? What made you angry? I'm very busy right now, so don't push all the problems onto me," Shangguan Qiangwei said leisurely.

"I just want to ask you, are you involved in the villa attack in Lixia and the arson at the hospital? Also, the Huazhu residential area where two human skins were found has seen a series of human skin cases! I can't keep this up any longer!" Director Mao roared at Shangguan Qiangwei.

"Tsk tsk tsk, my Director Mao! If I had such extraordinary abilities, do you think I'd still be here listening to your insults? I would have become the ruler of this world long ago, hahaha..." Shangguan Qiangwei said with a laugh.

"It really wasn't you. I know your methods are extremely secretive, otherwise, how come all these years, those mysterious deaths in your family haven't been investigated as being caused by human intervention?" Director Mao said sinisterly. He had been secretly investigating those in Shangguan Qiangwei's family who had died mysteriously because they opposed her, hoping to find something to hold over this woman so he could control her. But no matter how he investigated, he couldn't find a single clue; it seemed as if these people had died accidentally.

Director Mao was like a wolf seeing a piece of tender meat, but he couldn't get his hands on it. He desperately wanted it, but Shangguan Qiangwei was like a slippery eel that he couldn't catch at all.

"Could it be that you didn't do these things? Then who else could it be? Could it be that woman who was with Li Xia?" Shangguan Qiangwei muttered to herself.

"Hey! Look who's here? Isn't this Li Xia from Li Laoshuan's family? He's back from not doing well outside, hehe, and he's even brought a little girl with him. Judging by her age, she shouldn't be eighteen yet, right? I say, Li Xia, you're something else, managing to lure a minor back from outside!" As soon as Li Xia crossed the wooden bridge, some of the older women washing clothes below recognized him and started teasing him...

Li Xia could only lower her head and hurry towards the main road in the village, but she could still hear the old women washing clothes by the river making sarcastic and mocking remarks about her...

Li Xia finally arrived at the village entrance and found a group of elderly people resting under the big locust tree. Li Xia saw an intelligence organization that could rival the CIA of the United States. Li Xia prayed that these old men and women would not recognize her, that they all had Alzheimer's disease, and that they had all forgotten her, as long as she could get through this place.

Under the watchful eyes of these elderly people, Li Xia felt like a sinner who had done something wrong. She lowered her head and ran towards her home. Before Li Xia and Ru Huan had gone far, they heard the group of elderly people starting to talk about them...

Li Xia was a little confused by the scene before her. She even turned around twice before confirming that this was her home. But wasn't her home just three very low, old-fashioned houses with blue tiles? How did it suddenly become a three-story villa? Was it a surprise organized by her workplace?

"Who's loitering around my house? Are you trying to steal my stuff? Believe me or not, I'll beat you to death! Get the hell out of here!" Just as Li Xia was still wondering, a man suddenly stormed out of the small house with a shovel, ready to chase away Li Xia, who looked timid and suspicious.

"Is this your home?" Li Xia asked, looking at the menacing man holding a shovel.

"Are you blind? This isn't my home, is it yours?" the man said rudely.

"This...this was originally my home. You...you occupied my house," Li Xia said fearfully, looking at the burly man with a thick waist and a body full of fat, afraid that he might hit her with a shovel at the slightest provocation!

"Hehehe... You came here specifically to mess with me, didn't you? You think I, Li Manzi, am easy to bully?" The man looked at the weakling who would roll several times if he pushed her with a sneer and said, as if he was about to chop down on Li Xia's head with the shovel in his hand.

"You're a Li Manzi?" Li Xia looked at this simpleton with some surprise. He still had some of the features of her childhood, but now that he was grown up, it felt like this Li Manzi, who had grown up naked with a group of others, had become deformed.

"I am Li Manzi! Who the hell are you to act so arrogantly here? Don't you know I have a brother who works in the government and the military? Believe me, if you piss me off, I'll have my brother bring the army over and kill your whole family!" Li Manzi was extremely arrogant.

"What's your brother's name?" Li Xia asked, suppressing a laugh.

“My brother’s name is Li Xia. If you don’t believe me, go ask around in the city. This house was built for me by my brother. He lives in a very big villa in the city. If you don’t believe me, I have photos here,” Li Manzi said, reaching for his phone.

"Hey barbarian, who's causing trouble here? If he's a beggar, give him a little money and tell him to get lost. Standing at our door is bad luck," an old man's voice rang out from inside.

"Look who I am?" Li Xia asked with a smile, looking at the seemingly simple-minded Li Manzi.

"I know you are... wait, no, you look familiar, like I've seen you somewhere before, um... but I can't remember right now," the barbarian said, looking at Li Xia for a long time. He felt that Li Xia looked very much like one of his brothers, but he just couldn't remember what his brother's name was. He was so anxious that he scratched his head vigorously.

"Who's here making up these random relatives? My family doesn't have any beggars here!" A sprightly old man, leaning on a half-meter-long pipe, walked out and looked at a man and a woman next to his house.

"Lixia? Why are you back?" The old man looked at the ragged, skinny man outside and asked with great surprise and uncertainty.

"Uncle Shuanzi, I'm back," Lixia said quickly as she saw the old man walking out of the house.

"I remember now, you're Li Xia, hahaha, I never thought the chubby little guy would turn into a skinny stick, and I, the skinny stick, would turn into the chubby guy I am now. Come on, come on, let's go inside and talk," Li Manzi grabbed Li Xia and the poor Li Xia could only be dragged into the house by Li Manzi under his armpits.

"And who is this...?" Old Man Li asked Ru Huan, knowing full well who she was.

"Oh, this is my friend, Ru Huan. Ru Huan, this is my Uncle Shuanzi, and this is my cousin, Li Chuang, Li Manzi," Li Xia introduced.

"Not bad, kid. You found a girlfriend who looks like a little girl, almost like she's underage. You have good taste," Li Manzi said, winking and making faces, like a seasoned pro.

"Ahem, Eve, what brings you back this time?" Old Man Li coughed twice and then asked.

"Well, didn't I ask you to help me rebuild my old house? I just wanted to come back and take a look at this house..." Li Xia looked at the old man with some difficulty.

"What? Didn't you pay for this house so we could live in it ourselves? Besides, you have a house in the city, and this house in your hometown isn't worth much. A city person like you isn't short of money. We'll just stay here. We're brothers, aren't we?" Li Manzi said, putting his arm around Li Xia.

"That's right. When your old man passed away, it was us who helped you with the arrangements. If we hadn't stepped in, do you think these villagers would have come to help? Even though it was your money, you didn't understand anything. It was still your uncle and me who ran around doing everything, our feet were blistered, to bury your old man properly. Besides, when you weren't home, when your old man was alive, wasn't it us who took care of him and served him? Now that you're back, you want to turn your back on us? Eve, that's not very kind of you. You'll be the talk of the village!" An old woman came out of the house and chattered at Li Xia.

"Why are you saying so much? We're all family, we should help each other. What are you arguing about, you old hag? Do you believe I'll give you a beating?" Old Man Li cursed at his wife.

"Fine, Li Laoshuan, you want to hit me, huh? I'll let you hit me today! If you don't kill me today, I'll fight you to the death! You heartless, filthy man, I've been with you since I was a virgin, and we've worked hard for most of my life. I never thought you would want to hit me for an outsider. If you want to hit me, then hit me! Kill me!" Li Xia's aunt started to throw a tantrum, grabbing Li Laoshuan's collar while crying and cursing.

"Um, Uncle Shuanzi, we still have a little something to do, sorry to bother you," Li Xia said quickly when she saw the situation. Then she walked out of Li Laoshuan's house. Just as she reached the edge of the threshing ground, her aunt, with a long face, poured a basin of water at her feet and went back into the room without looking back. Li Manzi was sitting in the room playing on his phone with his head down, and Li Laoshuan was also puffing on his cigarette...

"What do I do now? I don't even have a home anymore. Where can I spend the night?" Li looked around at the familiar yet unfamiliar place with a sense of bewilderment.

Li Xia now truly understood the meaning of the idioms "homeless" and "without relatives or friends." She was almost there now. Ru Huan simply stood beside Li Xia, observing the village while lost in thought.

“I can kill them for you if you feel they deserve to die,” Ru Huan said, looking at Li Xia.

"No, no, no, it's not that serious. I just feel that people's hearts are unpredictable. Hehe, I was just too naive. Alright, from now on, I will never come back here again!" Li Xia looked at this very peaceful mountain village. This time, she realized that some things are better not to think too highly of them.

"Hey, isn't this Lixia? When did you get back? You're back but you don't even look for us, your friends. Did you become a city dweller and start looking down on us country bumpkins? Tsk tsk tsk... and you even found such a cute little girlfriend, tsk tsk tsk... Lixia, is that alright?" A man's voice suddenly rang out behind Lixia and Ruhuan.

A man covered in elaborate tattoos, with a jade Buddha pendant hanging from his neck and a Buddhist bead bracelet on his wrist, approached Li Xia with the air of a gangster boss. He looked down at Li Xia and groped around on Ru Huan's sensitive areas, appearing extremely lewd.

“You are…” Li Xia looked at this man who looked like a gang leader and was a little confused.

"Look, just as I thought, Li Xia, you really underestimate me! You've forgotten about us, the friends we grew up with, all naked together," the man said, feigning hurt as he looked at Li Xia with a pained expression, as if he had been toyed with and then abandoned by her.

Li Xia became even more nervous. She really didn't recognize this person, but he looked somewhat familiar. However, she really couldn't remember who he was.

"Could you give me a hint?" Li Xia looked at her older brother, who was staring at her like a wronged woman, with some shame, and asked weakly.

"In elementary school, I made you take your phone to film our prettiest music teacher going to the toilet; in middle school, I made you pull down the pants of our prettiest school beauty... in high school..." This gangster began to recount his experiences as if they were his own family history.

"You are, that, that... Bear, yes, yes, Bear, you are Bear!" Li Xia suddenly remembered. Looking at the man in front of her, Li Xia realized that he really looked more and more like the Bear who had bullied her during her school days.

“What bear? My name is Gou Xiong! You little brat, did you get kicked out of Li Laoshuan's house? I told you, Li Laoshuan and his family are no good. We used to steal plums from their tree, and this old bastard came rushing over with a carrying pole, and he chopped me in the leg with it. If I hadn't dodged quickly, I wouldn't be standing here talking to you right now. I would probably have been pushed here or be using a cane to get here,” Gou Xiong said.

"You not only stole their plums, but you also wanted to steal their money. Otherwise, Old Man Li wouldn't be so ruthless towards Gou Xiong," Li Xia thought to herself.

This Gou Xiong used to be a menace in the village. As a child, he was always stealing chickens and dogs and bullying the other children in the village. Gou Xiong was not a native of the village.

Li Xia had heard from the older people that Gou Xiong's father used to be from Yu County. Apparently, he had committed some crime in the county town and then came to this remote mountain village to hide. Li Xia remembered that when Gou Xiong came to her village primary school, the teacher asked him what 3 x 8 equaled, and he didn't know. The teacher originally didn't want him, but couldn't resist Gou Xiong's parents' pleas and entreaties, so Gou Xiong started going to school with Li Xia and the others.

"What are you thinking, kid? I heard you've made a fortune and become a government official, a real high-ranking one. You're doing really well. Since we've run into you, it must be God's will that you treat me to dinner, hahaha... Brothers, tonight my old classmate Li Xia is treating us to Heaven on Earth in Chongqing. What do you guys say?" Gou Xiong asked the six or seven thugs behind him who looked like gangsters.

"Good, Brother Lixia is awesome! Brother Lixia is amazing!" shouted the six or seven thugs behind him.

"Forget about Heaven on Earth, I..." What a joke, even if I sold myself, it wouldn't be enough for a single meal at Heaven on Earth.

"Hehe, I know you're a government employee, so you can't go to those places, hehe... buddy, I understand. Let's go to Shuyu Renjia then, it's affordable and won't cost much. I guarantee it won't cause you any trouble!"

On the bus, the hyena watched as an old woman carrying a bundle boarded the bus, looking dejected. She sat down next to him, smiled politely at him, and the hyena grinned at the old woman before looking out the window.

"Let me tell you, Li Xia, not a single person in Li Laoshuan's family is a good person. I dare to swear to God that after your old man passed away, did you pay for the reconstruction of your house so that your old lady could enjoy her old age in peace?"

At first, the Li family treated your old lady like royalty, but after the house was built and completed, and you received all your money, they started to dislike her.

You have no idea, my goodness! At first, they wouldn't feed your old lady. If she wanted food, they'd make her call you for money. Once she got the money, she could eat her fill for a few days. Then they started beating and verbally abusing her.

My God! Once, I couldn't stand it anymore and even argued with them over your old lady. Your former best friend, that barbarian Li, dragged out a wood-chopping knife and tried to kill me.

My goodness! In the end, the old lady couldn't take it anymore and went to your place. It's good that the old lady went to your place, so she wouldn't have to suffer this family's humiliation. Sigh... Anyway, let's have a drink." After Gou Xiong finished speaking, he picked up a glass of white wine, clinked it with Li Xia's glass, and drank it all in one gulp.

“No wonder, my mother kept asking me for money during that period. When I asked her, she wouldn’t say what was going on. I didn’t think much of it at the time. Later, my mother came to live with me, but I was in the research lab all day and rarely went home. I was afraid something might happen to her if she was alone at home, so I sent her to a nursing home,” Li Xia said with a bitter expression.

"Brother, I'm not talking about you. You're always busy with your career, but have you ever thought about your parents? They know you're busy, but you can't use that as an excuse. They worked so hard to raise us, hoping we would be successful. Now that we're successful, they've gotten old, and wanting us to spend time with them has become a luxury. My God, it's infuriating! Come on, let's have another one!" After saying that, Gou Xiong started drinking with Li Xia again.

"Haha, our Li Xia brothers are so straightforward! Let's go, get ready for the next round!" Gou Xiong helped the already drunk and delirious Li Xia into a bar.

Li Xia lay on the sofa like a dead dog, while Gou Xiong and his brothers flirted with the waitresses like they were on steroids, but none of them touched Ru Huan.

Ru Huan noticed that the men's eyes kept glancing in her direction, and she knew that these men had no good intentions tonight. They had gotten Li Xia drunk, but they weren't encouraging her to drink, which meant that they would make their move on her soon.

Ru Huan has now refined most of the inner core of the creature she obtained in the dense forest, and her soul, which was eroded on the road to the underworld, is slowly recovering to about 70-80%.

Sure enough, one or two of Gou Xiong's henchmen came up to him while he was drunk and started to grope him. Gou Xiong, with a girl in his arms, squinted and watched how he would react.

"Hey, little sister, we country bumpkins aren't as refined as Brother Lixia, don't take offense, hahaha. Since you're Brother Lixia's friend, you're Brother Xiong's friend too, right? Hehehe... Miss, what shower gel did you use? You smell so good." The two thugs came to Ruhuan's side, one sitting on each side. They very naturally tried to pull Ruhuan into their arms, their noses almost touching Ruhuan's neck, and the other's nose was almost touching Ruhuan's chest!

Without a word, Ru Huan gently bumped the two wicked men together! Their heads collided with a crack, and the two men slumped to the ground at Ru Huan's feet, motionless...

"Useless thing!" Gou Xiong watched his two underlings test the little girl. If she was willing to cooperate, great. But if she pretended to be innocent in front of him, well, hehe, he'd force himself on her tonight! Gou Xiong winked at his other two underlings.

"Hehe, you two idiots, you can't drink this much, but you insist on drinking." The two henchmen, drunk, dragged the two brothers who were lying at Ru Huan's feet to the side, and then sat down on either side of Ru Huan.

"Little sister, I think you're not even an adult yet. Did this Li Xia force you to be his girlfriend? Don't be afraid. Just tell us and we'll get revenge for you. Look at your pretty little face. It's a pity you're with this Li Xia. You'd be better off..." The man was about to reach out and touch Ru Huan's face when Ru Huan slapped him across the face before he could finish speaking.

The man was slapped to the ground by Ru Huan and lay motionless, seemingly unconscious.

"You bitch, you dare hit my brother? You're asking for it!" Another man saw this and tried to stand up to grab Ru Huan's hair, but Ru Huan kicked him in the stomach. The man flew backward and crashed into a table full of various kinds of wine and snacks, where he lay motionless...

Gou Xiong was incredulous to see how powerful this seemingly thin and weak woman was. He then led the remaining brothers to Ru Huan.

"My God! Girl, you're so fierce! My brothers just wanted to be friends with you and were joking around. You didn't have to beat them up like this, did you? My God!"

"You guys do your thing, don't mess with me, or you'll die here just like them!" Ru Huan said coldly to Gou Xiong.

"Tsk tsk tsk, hot enough! Hehe, I like it. I'd rather die on your belly. Brothers, hold her down! I'm going to be a tyrant today, but not a concubine. I'm going to force myself on her. Turn up the music, that'll give it rhythm, hahaha. My God, little sister, don't be afraid, your brother Xiong will be very, very gentle." Gou Xiong was preparing to force himself on Ru Huan with his brothers, while the waitresses cheered them on...

Ru Huan watched as Gou Xiong and his brothers surrounded her, and just sneered. Since they wanted to court death, she would grant their wish.

Before Gou Xiong and his brothers could even see how the woman had done it, all of his brothers had fallen! He was left alone, and the woman coldly watched him as she walked towards him step by step.

"My God, why are you so fierce, little girl? Fine, fine, I'm not joking with you anymore, please let me go," Gou Xiong looked at the woman and sensed that she was not simple, so he immediately knelt down on the ground and begged for mercy.

“Carry him and leave this place!” Ru Huan looked at Gou Xiong and pointed to Li Xia beside her.

"Okay, okay, I'll carry him right away!" Gou Xiong quickly got up and prepared to carry Li Xia.

A group of waitresses watched as Gou Xiong and this incredibly capable woman led a man who was as drunk as a dog out of the private room, leaving only a few of his buddies lying on the floor...

"Young man, are you coming to our village? Do you have any relatives here? Tell me, maybe I know them," the old woman asked, seeing that the young man had been following her all the way and they were almost in the village.

"No, I saw this mountain village on my phone, thought the scenery was nice, so I searched for it and came here!" the hyena replied.

"Sigh... The scenery is nice, but the people here, young men, when you come to this village, you should be more careful, otherwise..." The old woman hesitated, then fell silent.

"Grandma, I have nowhere to stay anyway, so why don't I come to your house? I won't just eat and stay for free; I'll give you money if you want, as long as you don't try to rip me off," the hyena said to the old woman.

"Home? I have no home anymore. My child is gone. Where do I have a home now? Waaah..." The old woman finished speaking and wiped away her tears sadly.

"Auntie, what's going on? I won't stay at your house anymore, please don't act like this, it's like I'm bullying you," the hyena said, looking at the heartbroken old woman.

"I'm sorry, I really have no home here anymore. I used to have one, but I don't anymore," the old woman said apologetically to the hyena, wiping away her tears.

"Sigh... young man, you should go find another house. I have to go take care of my business," the old woman said, and walked towards the village.

The hyena didn't enter the village; it simply stood on the other side of the wooden bridge and watched the old woman slowly walk into the village.

"Huh? The little thing came back yesterday, but I didn't expect you, old man, to come back today. What are you doing here? Get out of here!" When Li Laoshuan's wife saw the old woman come to her door, she picked up the broom next to the door and tried to shoo the old woman away.

"Didn't you want me dead? After I die, this house will belong to your family, Lao Shuan. I came back prepared to die. Don't mess with me. I don't mind taking someone down with me when I die!" The old woman looked at the woman with a very sinister gaze.

"You think I'm easily scared? If you want to die, go die somewhere else, don't die in my house, or I'll make sure you don't die in peace!" The woman picked up a broom, ready to hit the old lady.

"Then you can try it. Anyway, I have nothing left now, and I don't want to live anymore. Taking in this wicked woman would be a good deed!" The old woman said coldly, completely ignoring the woman, and walked straight into the villa.

"That's a wicked old woman! What are you doing in my house, you shameless old thing? Come quick! Look, someone has broken into my house! She's going to kill me! Help!" The woman started screaming and pulling the old woman away from the house.

"Li Xia's mother, what are you doing?" Old Man Li came out of the house, looked at the white-haired old woman, and asked.

"I brought my son back. I wanted him to see our new house. He's always busy and has never come to see it before, so I brought him back to see it now!" The old lady held back her tears and sobbed.

"Eve came back yesterday? Wasn't he taken to the county town by Gou Xiong and the others last night? Didn't you come back with him?" Lai Li Laoshuan asked the old lady with some doubt.

"He... came back yesterday? You heartless son, why didn't you come back with me? Don't you know how hard it is for an old woman like me? You unfilial son!" When the old lady heard that Li Xia had returned yesterday, she sat down in the courtyard and burst into tears.

Countless villagers were already pointing and talking about it from a distance. They felt that the old woman was really in a terrible situation. Not only had her house been occupied, but even her own son didn't want her anymore.

"Go wailing somewhere else if you want to, or I'll beat you to death!" At this moment, Li Manzi rushed out of the house, holding a carrying pole in his hand, and roared at the old woman in a menacing manner.

"Go ahead and hit me. Even if you don't kill me, I'll die and make sure you can't live in this house anymore," the old woman said, pointing at Li Manzi.

"You old hag, do you think I really wouldn't dare hit you?" After saying that, Li Manzi grabbed the old woman's hair, pressed her firmly to the ground, and knelt on her back with one leg...

"Kill her! Kill this old hag! She dares to cause trouble here, kill her son!" Li Manzi's mother urged her son through gritted teeth...
