Chapter Thirty-One: First Appearance

"You barbarian, you can't do this! No matter what, this person is your aunt. Aren't you afraid of being struck by lightning?"

"That's right. Not only did your family occupy someone else's house, but you also wouldn't allow them to come back and live here. No wonder you can't find a daughter-in-law. Looking at you like this, which girl would dare to come to your house? It seems that you're the only ones who will live here for the rest of your lives. After you move in, it will just be empty."

"Why is Zian here? Does this mean we can't live in this house anymore?"

"You idiot, you won't be able to find a wife looking like this, will you even have any descendants?"

"Yeah, who knows which bastard will get the better deal then."

While everyone was discussing this, Li Manzi had already pressed the old lady down so hard that her face had turned a purplish-red, as if she might not be able to catch her breath at any moment.

Just then, a fleet of police cars suddenly arrived, driving directly to the village entrance. Countless heavily armed police officers ran out of the cars and surrounded the entire village...

"No action! All of you, stand still! What are you doing, you old man? Hitting an old man? Cuff him first! You think you're so great for bullying an elderly person? You think you're so capable?" A leading policeman pointed at Li Manzi and said.

Two policemen approached Li Manzi directly. Seeing the situation was turning against him, Li Manzi tried to resist by grabbing his carrying pole. The two policemen immediately pulled out stun guns and stun-fired at him. Li Manzi collapsed to the ground, convulsing in pain.

"What are you doing? Let go of my son right now, or I'll fight you to the death!" Seeing her son being taken advantage of, Li Manzi's mother rushed forward to grab the stun gun from the police officer.

"Get out of the way! Or we'll handcuff you too!" a policeman warned, watching the woman approach him.

“My son hasn’t broken the law, why are you treating him like this? This old man started this trouble in our house!” Li Manzi’s mother said, pointing at the old woman who was still on the ground.

"Get away! Don't come near me, I'm saying it again, or I'll arrest you!" the policeman warned once more.

"Let go of my son, or I won't come over. If you don't let go, I'll fight you to the death! Let go of my son now!" the woman shouted at the policeman, slamming the broom in her hand towards his face.

The police officer kicked the unreasonable woman to the ground, and she started throwing a tantrum, rolling around on the ground and shouting, "The police have killed someone! The police have killed someone!"

The police were about to handcuff and put the unconscious Li Manzi into the car when the woman scrambled up from the ground and lunged at the policeman's hand. The policeman instinctively punched the woman in the neck, and her eyes rolled back as she lay motionless on the ground.

While the policeman was dealing with the fact that the woman had almost bitten off a piece of his wrist, Li Laoshuan rushed towards him from inside the house, wielding an axe.

"Watch out!" A policeman saw this and pulled out his stun gun, shooting it at the old man with the axe. Despite being hit, Li Laoshuan, his face contorted in a trembling, ferocious gait, tried to approach the policeman who had knocked his wife unconscious. The policeman frowned, then increased the stun gun's intensity. Li Laoshuan's entire body stiffened instantly, and he lay motionless on the ground, convulsing…

"Why are there so many police officers all of a sudden? Has my whereabouts been exposed?" The hyena hid in a clump of bushes by the river, watching the police cars rushing by, and then heard a commotion coming from the village.

"Auntie, are you alright?" The policeman helped Lixia's mother up from the ground and asked with concern.

“They are all bad people! They won’t let me and my son into our own house! They are all bad people… They won’t let my son into the house!” Li Xia’s mother sat on the ground and wailed.

"Where is your village chief? Such a big thing has happened, why hasn't your village chief stepped forward to resolve it?" the police leader asked, looking at the surrounding villagers.

“Our village chief bought a small villa in the county town and rarely comes back to our poor, remote village,” a villager replied.

"Do you know where Gou Xiong lives? Take us there quickly!" the leader said to the villagers.

"Gou Xiong? He lives on the east side of the village. Did he do something wrong?" This villager was very gossipy.

"Don't ask questions you shouldn't ask!" The lead policeman, armed with guns, surrounded Gou Xiong's residence.

"Why are there police cars?" Gou Xiong sat on the sofa, not daring to utter a sound. He had suffered terribly last night. He never expected this woman to be so perverted. Now he was a pig's head because he tried to ambush her, and she almost beat him to death.

"Gou Xiong, you are surrounded. Don't put up any futile resistance. Come out and surrender, or you will face the consequences. This is your first warning!" Suddenly, a loudspeaker rang out from outside.

"Are you kidding me? These police officers are here to arrest me. I haven't done anything wrong. What right do they have to arrest me?" Gou Xiong looked outside, completely bewildered.

"Officer, have you got the wrong person? I may not break the law, but I do break minor laws, but do you really need this kind of fuss?" As soon as Gou Xiong opened the window and peeked out, countless dark gun barrels were aimed at him from below, which scared him so much that he quickly pulled his head back.

"You don't even know what you've done. I advise you not to be so stubborn. Come out and surrender right now, or we'll shoot you dead when we storm in!" the policeman shouted.

"Tell me what I did wrong, let me know what's going on. I don't want to be arrested like this without any explanation, my God!" Gou Xiong said.

"Did you go to Qian Gui KTV last night?"

"Yes, I went there last night."

"Then explain why the four people who went with you died in the KTV. I know you have two hostages, but I advise you not to resist, or you'll be doomed!"

"I... no, four people died? How is that possible? I didn't kill them, my God, are they really all dead?" Gou Xiong collapsed to the ground, looking at Ru Huan who was coldly staring at him.

"I didn't kill those four, this woman killed them! They were my brothers, how could I kill them? It was this man! Li Xia can testify for me! Li Xia, wake up! Get up and testify for me! I really didn't kill them! It was your girlfriend who killed them! My God!" Gou Xiong shouted excitedly, shoving Li Xia, who was drunk as a log.

"Okay, we believe you. Come out first. We promise we won't arrest you. We will investigate thoroughly and won't wrongly accuse you."

"Okay, don't shoot. I'll come out myself. I really didn't kill them. It was that woman who killed them. Li Xia's girlfriend killed them," Gou Xiong said, opening his front door and then walking out of his yard with his hands behind his head.

"Idiot," Ru Huan said softly as she watched Gou Xiong leave.

"What are you doing? Didn't you say you wouldn't arrest me? What right do you have to arrest me? I really didn't kill those four people. My God, I'm innocent! I'm innocent!"

"Behave yourself!" Five or six policemen pinned Gou Xiong to the ground, then twisted his hands behind his back and handcuffed them.

A group of police officers rushed into Gou Xiong's house and found a man with tears streaming down his face and another man who was unconscious.

"Little sister, don't be afraid, you're safe now. Now, can you tell me who this person is?" The policeman took off his clothes and draped them over Ruhuan, asking softly.

"This is my boyfriend. He's been drugged and hasn't woken up yet," Ru Huan said, curled up and trembling violently, as if she had suffered a great shock and fright...

"You son of a bitch!" The police officer saw that the girl looked only fourteen or sixteen years old. Seeing that Li Xia was already so old and was still seducing underage girls, the officer kicked Li Xia twice as he escorted Ru Huan out.

"Stop forcing me to drink, I really can't drink anymore!" Li Xia mumbled, then turned over and fell asleep again.

The policeman, his face ashen, walked into Gou Xiong's kitchen, grabbed a bucket of cold water, and poured it over Li Xia, giving her a thorough chill.

"Ah... is it raining?" Li Xia suddenly sat up from the sofa, then looked around groggily and found several policemen standing in front of her.

"What's going on? Why are there police officers? Is this a random check?" Li Xia looked at the police officers with a completely bewildered expression.

"Take her away!" Li Xia was taken away by two policemen.

"Son, we're home. Look, this is the new house you built with your money. Isn't it beautiful?" The old lady stood up shakily, then, holding an urn in her hands, she walked unsteadily into the house...

"I knew this Gou Xiong was no good. He even tried to make a move on Li Xia's girlfriend. Tsk tsk tsk, what a pity for that girl."

"That's right. Looking at this, Gou Xiong must have gotten his hands on the meat. Poor Li Xia, she's not even married yet and Gou Xiong has already given her a cuckold's horns."

"And according to these police officers, this Gou Xiong killed four of his own brothers for this woman. That son of a bitch is really black-hearted. He even killed his own brothers for a woman."

"If Gou Xiong gets imprisoned now, he'll either get a suspended death sentence or life imprisonment."

"This kind of scum deserves it!"

The villagers were talking amongst themselves, and then they watched as Li Xia and his girlfriend got into the police car, which then sped away from the village...

"Li Xia's mother, what are you still doing here? Your son has been taken away by the police. Aren't you going to go and see him?" A woman came into Li Manzi's house and stood in front of Li Xia with a sad expression.

“My son, Lixia, is here with me. How could he have been taken away by the police?” After saying this, the old lady gently patted the urn in front of her.

"So you mean your Eve is dead? Then who was the one the police took away?" The woman who came to deliver the news was somewhat surprised.

“My son Eve was in a car accident. We just had a memorial service at his workplace yesterday, and I brought him home,” Li Xia’s mother said, tears streaming down her face.

“But we clearly saw your Eve come back yesterday and today, and he even brought a very young and beautiful girlfriend. Your Eve was tricked into drinking by that beast Gou Xiong last night. He got Eve drunk and violated his girlfriend. They’re both at the police station now. If you don’t believe me, just ask the people in the village,” the woman said.

Lixia's mother looked at the woman and realized she wasn't lying. If her son hadn't died, then who was in the urn containing his ashes?

"Am I supposed to go to the police station to find them?" Hyena thought helplessly, watching the police car drive away.

"Knock, knock, knock, Director, two people say they want to see you!" the secretary knocked on the door and said.

"Do you have an appointment? No appointments, no visitors!" Director Mao was extremely agitated. One bizarre and terrifying case after another had occurred in his jurisdiction. Countless corpses with human skin had appeared, and countless people had reported being attacked by ghosts or monsters covered in insects. However, despite sending people to investigate, they hadn't found a single clue after so long.

"It seems Director Mao has quite a bit of free time. So many murders have occurred in his jurisdiction, yet he can still sit in his office. He must already have a way to solve the cases." The two men went directly into Director Mao's office, and one of them looked at Director Mao with a sarcastic tone and said.

"Who are you? How dare you cause trouble here? Get out of here right now! Otherwise, I'll let you work on the sewing machines!" Director Mao roared angrily at the two men who had barged into his office.

"Are you sure you have the ability to send us to prison to work on sewing machines?" A man looked at Director Mao with a half-smile, making Director Mao's heart pound.

"Who sent you? What are you doing here?" Director Mao had already realized something and began to seriously examine the two strangers.

"It doesn't matter who sent us, Director Mao. Tell us about the current situation. Do you have any clues?" Without waiting for Director Mao's invitation, the two of them plopped down on the sofa opposite him.

"Our bureau has a lot of complicated matters to deal with. I don't know which kind of clue you two are asking about?" Director Mao looked at the two strangers and felt like he was in trouble.

"Hehe, since Director Mao doesn't know anything, then we apologize for disturbing you, Director Mao. We're new here and don't know your rules. If we come again next time, we might still not make an appointment!" The two men stood up and smiled at Director Mao.

"Oh, right, I forgot to tell you something: don't let your curiosity get the better of you, or you won't even know how you died. Especially some phone calls, it's fine if you can't get through, but what if one day you suddenly get through? Hehe... maybe our amazing Director Mao won't be here anymore. Consider this a kind reminder from me, Director Mao." Just as the two were about to leave, one of them suddenly turned around, looked at Director Mao meaningfully, said this, and then left...

Director Mao stared at the two men with a look of horror, feeling as if he were naked in front of them, as if they knew everything. Director Mao hurriedly called the provincial capital to confirm whether these two mysterious men had been sent from there.

"Special Operations Group? When did this department exist? I have absolutely no idea about it." Director Mao had confirmed that these two mysterious men came from a department called the Special Operations Group. Even the highest-ranking officials in the provincial capital didn't interfere with their work. If he angered them, no matter how high-ranking he was, they had the right to execute him on the spot. If he killed one of them, no matter how powerful his backing or how influential his connections, he would be charged with treason without any leniency! Cold sweat was now pouring down Director Mao's forehead. He hadn't expected to encounter two ruthless characters. Fortunately, these two hadn't held a grudge against him, otherwise, if they had really executed him on the spot, he would have been dead anyway.

"Hey, Shangguan Qiangwei, I need to ask you something. Do you know anything about the Special Operations Group?" Director Mao's hand was trembling as he held the phone.

"I know, what's wrong? Did those two cause you trouble? I advise you not to mess with them, otherwise even I can't protect you!" Shangguan Qiangwei hung up the phone abruptly after saying that.

Director Mao, holding his phone, sank into the sofa, his face ashen. Was he really doomed this time?

"It seems this pawn is no longer usable. What are these two special operations team members doing here? Could it be that things are already out of the control of the House of Beautiful Views?" Shangguan Qiangwei frowned as she thought.

"Hey, the chess piece is no longer usable, let it disappear!" Shangguan Qiangwei said via mysterious phone number, then hung up and began preparing to withdraw from Director Mao's sphere of influence.

"Director, just now, Shangguan Qiangwei called that mysterious phone number again," Director Mao asked, sitting up abruptly from the sofa.

"The chess piece is no longer usable, let it disappear!" said the subordinate who was listening in on the phone.

"The chess piece is no longer usable, make it disappear"? It seems Shangguan Qiangwei is also preparing to kill someone! But I wonder who this woman is going to kill. If only I knew.

Director Mao stared at the phone number on his phone screen. Every time he dialed, it was either a dead number or he couldn't get through at all. Thinking of the warnings given to him by the special operations team members who had just left, he still felt a little scared.

"Ring ring..." Just as Director Mao was still hesitating, his phone suddenly rang. Director Mao looked at the number on the phone screen, his pupils dilated. The number he had been unable to call had suddenly called him!

"To answer or not to answer?" Director Mao hesitated greatly. He gritted his teeth and his trembling hand suddenly pressed the answer button...

"name"?

"quinoa summer".

Where are you from?

"People of Chongqing".

What is your profession?

Chief Engineer of the Langcheng National Defense Research Project.

"Are you a scientist?"

"Um".

The bright lights made Li Xia squint, unable to open her eyes at all. The effects of the alcohol hadn't worn off yet, and her head felt like it was being hammered repeatedly...

The interrogating police officer looked at Li Xia with some surprise. This thin, weak, and slovenly person was actually a scientist. He seemed a little incredulous, then gave his colleague a look, who understood and went out to investigate Li Xia's file.

"What's your name? Don't be afraid. Once you're here, no one will dare to bully you!" The two policewomen said softly to Ruhuan.

"My name is Ruhuan. I got separated from my mother and sister, and now I don't know where I am. I've been wandering around, and then this Lixia took pity on me and took me in. Yesterday, we originally planned to go to Lixia's hometown to hide for a while, but we didn't expect that his relatives had taken over his house, so we have to find a new place to stay."

We ran into this guy named Gou Xiong as soon as we came out. He asked Li Xia to treat us to a meal, saying that Li Xia worked in a government department and had become successful. Gou Xiong then took us to Shuyu Renjia Restaurant.

After dinner, Gou Xiong kept insisting on going to some expensive karaoke bar. Li Xia had already been plied with alcohol and they were helping her get drunk. They were using Li Xia's bank card to spend money everywhere, and I could only follow them. Then we ended up in a karaoke room, and then... "Waaah..." Ru Huan started crying as she spoke.

The two policewomen exchanged glances, looking at the tallest girl across the table. They also wanted to see the surveillance footage from the KTV rooms, but when they went to the KTV to investigate and collect evidence, they discovered that all the cameras in the rooms were broken and completely useless.

"Then think about it carefully, how did these four people die?" the policewoman continued to ask.

"They...the four of them, they fought because I was the first one, and then a bunch of them got drunk and started hitting people everywhere. I could only hide in a corner..." As Ru Huan spoke, she seemed to be back in the terrifying scene from last night, her whole body began to tremble, and then she squatted on the ground and cried.

All of Gou Xiong's brothers had drunk themselves into oblivion. When they were taken to the police station, they couldn't remember anything about what happened the night before. They only knew that they went to Shuyu Renjia for dinner, and they didn't remember anything after that.

And so, Ru Huan naturally became a victim, and she and Gou Xiong were all imprisoned.

None of these are problems; Li Xia's situation is the real trouble.

"What did you say? This Lixia died in a car accident a few days ago?"

"Yes, that's the reply from Langcheng. They even faxed us the information about Li Xia's car accident."

"Then who is this Lixia here? She can't be an imposter, can she?"

“This matter is a bit complicated. When we went to this small mountain village yesterday, wasn’t there an old woman being beaten on the ground by a family? How is the interrogation of those people going?”

"Oh, this matter is very clear now. The man who was about to attack the police with an axe is called Li Laoshuan, the woman who bit the woman is his wife, and the man who hit the old woman is their son, Li Manzi."

This old woman is Li Xia's mother. The old woman's bundle should contain Li Xia's ashes. But for some reason, Li Laoshuan's family wants to beat Li Xia's mother. No matter what, Li Laoshuan is Li Xia's uncle. How could he treat his own brother's wife like this?

"We asked the girl, and she said that she and Li Xia had returned to the small mountain village because they were hiding from someone. However, Li Xia's house was occupied by her uncle, Li Laoshuan, and his family. Li Xia had no choice but to find another place, and that's when this hoodlum named Gou Xiong came to Yu County. That's how it happened."

"Whether this Li Xia is real or fake, we just need to bring Li Xia's mother here so the old lady can recognize her son. If he's real, it means the departments in Langcheng must have made a mistake. If he's fake, then just detain him for now." After saying this, the director of the Yu County Public Security Bureau sent two policemen to Li Xia's small mountain village to bring Li Xia's mother over so she could determine whether Li Xia was an imposter.

The two policemen drove from Yu County, and if nothing unexpected happened, they would arrive at this small mountain village in about forty minutes, but it was already getting dark outside...

"Director, there's a document you need to confirm." In the office of Director Mao of Langcheng Public Security Bureau, the secretary came into the office, intending to have Director Mao sign a document. However, after searching for a long time, he found that Director Mao's clothes, pants, and shoes were all there, but he was nowhere to be found!

Later, the secretary searched the entire Public Security Bureau but still couldn't find Director Mao, so the secretary had no choice but to go to the deputy director...

The sky was slowly darkening. For creatures that prefer the day, it was time to rest, replenish their energy, and recuperate. But those creatures that prefer the night were slowly beginning to awaken...

A police car was moving very slowly along the somewhat muddy road. A small mountain village came into view in front of the two policemen. The two policemen parked the car by the wooden bridge and then got out and walked into the village.

Not long after the two policemen left, a person emerged from the bushes by the river and followed them into the village...

"Knock knock knock... Is the old lady home? We are police officers. We need your help with something. Are you home, old lady?" Two police officers arrived in front of Li Laoshuan's house and knocked on the door, but there was no response from inside.

"Who are you looking for? Haven't you already arrested Li Laoshuan and his family? Who else are you looking for here?" a villager returning home from work asked.

“We’re looking for Lixia’s mother. Do you know where she is?” the two policemen asked.

"You mean Li Xia's mother? I do know her. Didn't you kidnap the Li Manzi family of three? I saw this old woman acting strangely, holding a box in her hands and heading in that direction. I greeted her, but she ignored me while still muttering to herself and holding the box."

"Do you know where you can go in that direction?"

"That direction is where people are buried after they die in our village. This old woman went there with a box in her hands. Could she be burying someone?" The villager suddenly seemed to realize something.

"Thank you," the two policemen said, and then started walking in the direction the villager had indicated...

"The old lady is holding Lixia's urn, but if Lixia is really dead, then who is that sitting over there?" A policeman felt that this matter was very bizarre.

“Once we find Lixia’s mother and bring her to the police station, the truth will be revealed,” another policeman said.

The two policemen turned on their flashlights and began walking towards the village cemetery...

“Dong dong dong… dong dong dong…”

"Who is it? Coming, coming!" A woman who was busy preparing dinner for her family heard the knocking and came out of the kitchen, wiping her hands as she prepared to open the door.

"Who are you? Why aren't you home at this hour? What are you doing here?" The woman looked at the blond-haired young man outside her door with some suspicion. He didn't seem like a good person.

The woman was frightened when she saw that the young man was silent. Her husband hadn't returned from work yet, and she was left alone with her two children. She quickly tried to close the door again, but the young man grabbed her by the neck.

The woman opened her mouth in terror, ready to scream for help, but the young man also opened his mouth, and countless insects gushed out of his mouth and poured into the woman's mouth.

The woman opened her mouth in terror and began to struggle desperately, but countless insects entered her internal organs through her throat. Slowly, the woman stopped struggling, her eyes became vacant, and then she went out the door and started knocking on her neighbor's door...

The energetic young man entered the woman's house and saw two children doing their homework at the table. He approached the children, who, unaware of his intentions, were suddenly lifted up. The young man tilted his head, looking at the children with some curiosity...

"How can this place be so wide!" The two policemen only realized after arriving at the cemetery that, shrouded in darkness, the cemetery seemed to have no end in sight.

“Lixia’s mother, where are you? We’ve come to find you. There’s something we want you to confirm. Auntie, can you hear us?” The policeman shouted from the edge of the cemetery.

Apart from the chirping of crickets in the grass and the eerie sounds of night owls, there was absolutely no response.

"Let's go in and look," the two policemen said as they entered the cemetery.

In a very dark house in Langcheng, a person with a horribly grotesque dent on their back lay motionless on the ground, a thick, viscous liquid slowly seeping from their body and spreading across the floor. A cell phone beside them was still connected, and a terrified person was screaming for help…

"Why haven't we found this old lady after walking for so long?" a policeman said, somewhat puzzled.

"It's been an hour. We've been searching here for an hour, but we still haven't found the old lady." The two policemen were somewhat puzzled, as the cemetery didn't seem to be very large.

"Shh..." Suddenly, a policeman made a shushing gesture to his colleague, then pointed to a spot not far away.

Following the direction his colleague pointed, the policeman discovered a fire not far ahead! This fire was different from the usual flames; it looked lush and green!

"Will-o'-the-wisp!" A name suddenly popped into the minds of the two policemen. This kind of flame is very common in cemeteries, and this phenomenon is very common in rural areas, because rural people don't have to climb the chimneys of crematoriums like people in the city do after they die.

They all put the body into the coffin themselves for burial, and then keep it at home for three days, seven days, or even half a month or a month if they are afflicted by the Three Killings and Five Yellows.

In rural areas, people often bury their dead in their own land or fields. But in small mountain villages like Li Xia's, where there isn't much land, people have to find a place to bury all the dead in the village.

As time went by, some coffins in graves were gradually exposed to the outside for various reasons. Coffins that were already rotten and buried in the soil were suddenly exposed to the sunlight and soon fell apart, revealing the skeletons inside. The bones contained phosphorus, which has a low ignition point and will spontaneously combust upon contact with air. Because the sunlight was too strong during the day, it was not visible, but at night, one could see these green will-o'-the-wisps everywhere in the graveyard.

It's common knowledge even for elementary school students, so it's impossible for the two policemen not to know it. However, they were still curious about the will-o'-the-wisp because they had only heard of it in their school textbooks and had never actually seen one.

Two policemen walked in and were surprised to find it quite lively, with a dozen or so men, women, and children having a picnic and barbecue.

There were human hand bones, leg bones, ribs, and even two or three sections of the spine! These bones were stacked up like firewood, emitting bursts of green phosphorescent light, the flames nearly half a person's height! A group of people were chatting and laughing here, holding all sorts of ingredients in their hands.

"Who are these people? Why are they having a barbecue in a place like this so late at night? And the flames seem a bit off." The two policemen frowned as they looked at everything in front of them, somewhat curious.

"Hey, folks, the place where you're having your dinner is really something else," a policeman said as he approached the group, abruptly interrupting their pleasant atmosphere.

These people just stared coldly at the two policemen without saying a word. The two policemen and the group of people just stared at each other.

"I just want to ask, have you seen an old lady holding a box, about this tall..." the policeman asked as he approached the group.

"Why do I suddenly feel a bit cold?" The two policemen suddenly felt a chill in the air!

These people continued to stare coldly at the two strangers, and the child returned to his mother's arms, all looking at the two policemen with blank expressions.

"Hiss..." The two policemen felt colder and colder, and their breath slowly began to turn into mist.

"Could we warm ourselves by the fire? We're so cold!" The two policemen were shivering from the cold, and without waiting for the people to agree, they squatted down by the green fire to warm themselves...

"It's already dawn, why haven't those two who were supposed to pick them up returned yet? Give them a call and urge them, ask them where they are. It's such a short distance, are they supposed to crawl back on the ground?" The director of the Yu County Public Security Bureau was somewhat annoyed.

The call went through, but no one answered. The chief frowned, a sense of foreboding creeping into his heart, wondering what the two policemen were up to.

"Do you think we'll ever find Ruhuan?" the two young men asked as they walked along the pedestrian street in Langcheng.

“You’re asking me? Who am I supposed to ask? If it weren’t for the people at headquarters knowing where we went, we might still be lying in that bed right now,” another policeman said.

“We’ve spotted a suspicious person up ahead. Let’s finish dealing with things here first,” the two young men said, and quickly followed a woman who looked like she had suffered a stroke.

"Hey beautiful, wanna chat with us?" The two young men waited until the woman walked into an empty alley, then one of the young men blew a lewd whistle, trying to get the woman's attention.

The woman slowly turned around, and then the corners of her mouth began to curve into a very strange arc. She then walked slowly and unsteadily toward the two young men.

"She's here, prepare for battle!" The two young men stared intently at the woman slowly approaching, the mysterious light in their hands flickering faintly.

Just as the woman was about five or six meters away from the two young men, she suddenly accelerated and teleported to their side. Then she stretched out her hands to grab their necks!

The two young men quickly dodged the woman's hand and punched her in the abdomen. A ball of mysterious light pierced into the woman's stomach, and she screamed in pain. She was sent flying backward and crashed heavily to the ground a short distance away, where she lay motionless.

"Done," the two young men said as they approached the woman. They pulled out a bottle, unscrewed it, and prepared to pour some unknown liquid onto her. Suddenly, the woman, who had been lying motionless on the ground, sprang up, kicked the two young men, stepped on them, and then grinned maliciously as she prepared to open her mouth...

With a loud "boom," a burst of crimson flames suddenly erupted from the hands of the two young men, splattering directly onto the woman's face! The woman screamed and tried to escape, but a rope caught her foot, causing her to fall back to the ground...

The two young men watched as the woman, covered in flames, struggled to crawl on the ground. They followed her closely. Countless worms emerged from her body, only to be burned to death by the flames with a series of crackling sounds. A crimson worm crawled out of the woman's head, trying to escape, but the two young men grabbed it, pulled out a bottle, and threw the chopstick-long worm into it...

"Hello, is this 110? I... I want to report a crime. I saw two psychopathic killers murdering people in an alleyway...! Address? Oh, the address is..."
