Chapter 154 Are you an undercover agent?
"The deal is moved up to 6 p.m. tonight. Adjust your plans immediately." He then folded the note into a small square and stuffed it into a small plastic bag he carried with him.
Back in the lounge, Su Yingxue had a sudden inspiration and took out a freshly made egg fried rice from the insulated box. This fried rice was specially prepared by her; it was dyed golden yellow with egg yolks and garnished with shrimp and green peas.
When no one was looking, she buried the plastic bag containing the note at the bottom of the fried rice, then covered it with shrimp and green peas, making it look just like ordinary fried rice.
Just as she was figuring out how to deliver the fried rice, a figure suddenly blocked her way—it was Xiao Sui.
Su Yingxue's heart skipped a beat, and she subconsciously gripped the fried rice in her hand tighter.
She had long sensed that Xiao Sui was shrewd and far more difficult to deal with than Wang Zhiqiang and Xiao Wang. At this moment, his face was expressionless, but his eyes were sharp as knives as he stared straight at her, his tone calm yet imposing: "Su Yingxue, what are you doing here? Who let you in?"
"Xiao Wang brought me in." Su Yingxue forced a smile and said, "I thought everyone would be busy tonight, so I specially made some snacks and brought them over. They are all your favorites."
As she spoke, she picked up a skewer of grilled pork tenderloin and handed it over, saying, "Try it, it still tastes the same as you mentioned last time."
Xiao Sui didn't take it. His gaze lingered on her face for two seconds, then swept over the fried rice in her hand. Suddenly, he reached out and took the skewer, leaning closer to her and whispering in a voice only the two of them could hear, "It's not safe here. Don't say anything out of line. Listen to my instructions."
Su Yingxue froze, staring at him in disbelief.
Xiao Sui's lips barely moved, his tone remained calm, but his eyes carried a subtle hint: "Wang Zhiqiang is very suspicious. It's too conspicuous for you to stay here. I'll take you to the kitchen; there are fewer people there, making it easier to get things done."
After saying that, he raised his voice, deliberately sounding a bit impatient: "Alright, stop getting in my way and come with me to the kitchen. Hurry up and do what you need to do, and leave as soon as you're done."
Wang Zhiqiang looked over, and Xiao Sui casually explained, "Brother Qiang, there are too many people watching outside, let her stay in the kitchen to avoid causing us trouble."
Wang Zhiqiang agreed and waved his hand: "Go ahead, keep an eye on her, don't let her run around."
Su Yingxue followed Xiao Sui out of the lounge, feeling both surprised and suspicious.
She wasn't sure of Xiao Sui's identity, nor did she know if he really wanted to help her, but this was her only chance, so she had no choice but to believe him.
The bodyguards in the corridor were all watching their surroundings, and no one noticed their little actions. As Xiao Sui walked, he gestured to her out of the corner of his eye: "Did you hide something in your fried rice?"
Su Yingxue paused for a moment, then nodded gently.
"I'll distract the people in the kitchen later. You find a chance to hand the stuff over to Uncle Chen in the kitchen. He's one of us."
Xiao Sui's voice was extremely low and as fast as a gust of wind, "Remember, don't turn around, don't give anything away."
As soon as they finished speaking, they arrived at the kitchen door. Xiao Sui pushed the door open, and inside, two helpers were preparing ingredients.
He called out to one of the middle-aged men, "Uncle Chen, Mr. Lu wants to add some dishes tonight. He asked this Boss Su to help prepare them. Take her to the kitchen next door and keep an eye on things so nothing goes wrong."
Uncle Chen looked up at them, his eyes flickered for a moment, and then he immediately nodded: "Alright, Boss Su, come with me."
Xiao Sui stayed at the door, seemingly smoking, but actually blocking the view outside. He whispered to Su Yingxue, "Hurry up, I can only hold them off for five minutes."
Su Yingxue followed Uncle Chen into the inner control room. As soon as the door closed, Uncle Chen lowered his voice and said, "I'm an informant arranged by Captain Lin. Xiao Sui is also one of us. Do you have any information?"
Su Yingxue breathed a sigh of relief and quickly handed over the fried rice in her hand: "The trading time has been moved up to 6 pm tonight. Here's the news. Please pass it on to Team Leader Lin as soon as possible."
Uncle Chen opened the fried rice, took out the note, glanced at it quickly, and immediately stuffed it into his collar: "Don't worry, I'll have someone send it out right away. You stay here, and Xiao Sui will find a way to help you find evidence. Wang Zhiqiang has hidden all the important things in the safe in the study on the second floor."
Just as Su Yingxue nodded, Xiao Sui's voice came from outside: "Are you done yet? Hurry up, Brother Qiang is coming to check."
Uncle Chen quickly finished preparing the fried rice. Su Yingxue walked out of the kitchen, and Xiao Sui winked at her, deliberately saying, "Stop dawdling, hurry up and finish the dishes, don't delay things."
Su Yingxue understood immediately, picked up the kitchen utensils and started working, but kept an eye on Xiao Sui's every move out of the corner of her eye.
He appeared to be monitoring her, but in reality, he was always paying attention to the surroundings. Whenever a bodyguard passed by, he would strike up a conversation, cleverly blocking their view and creating a safe space for her.
Su Yingxue was busy in the control room, but in her mind she was figuring out how to get the evidence in the safe that Xiao Sui had mentioned.
People came and went in the kitchen. Occasionally, bodyguards would come in to urge the food to be cooked, but Xiao Sui would skillfully deal with them. He would also occasionally use the excuse of urging the food to go into the kitchen and pass on messages to her.
“Wang Zhiqiang just went to the second floor. The safe’s combination is his birthday, 900517.”
While pretending to check the dishes, Xiao Sui quickly said, "He'll be down in ten minutes. Hurry up, I'll find a way to distract the others."
Su Yingxue nodded, her hands continuing their work while her mind quickly planned a route. She knew the second floor was the core area, with even more bodyguards, making it extremely difficult to enter unnoticed.
Just then, Xiao Sui suddenly shouted outside, "Brother Zhang, Mr. Lu wants you to go to the front hall. He says a distinguished guest has arrived."
A tall bodyguard approached in response: "What distinguished guest? You've arrived so early?"
"I don't know, it seems they came from out of town. Mr. Lu asked you to pick them up personally." Xiao Sui said this with great seriousness, and even pointed in the direction of the villa gate, "Look, the car is already at the gate."
Following the direction he pointed, Brother Zhang saw a black sedan parked at the entrance and quickly walked out. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Xiao Sui said to Su Yingxue, "Hurry up, I'll take you up to the second floor through the staff entrance. There's only one bodyguard there; I'll handle him."
Su Yingxue put down the kitchen utensils in her hands and followed Xiao Sui out through the side door of the back kitchen, walking up a narrow staircase.
Sure enough, a bodyguard was standing at the top of the stairs. Upon seeing them, he immediately asked warily, "What are you doing here? You can't just go up to the second floor without permission."
“Mr. Lu asked Boss Su to prepare some snacks for our distinguished guest. I’ll go with her.” Xiao Sui said, handing over two freshly grilled skewers. “Brother, you’ve worked hard all day. Have a taste. This is Boss Su’s specialty.”
The bodyguard took the skewers, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "Don't worry, I'll take responsibility if anything happens. Brother Qiang knows that too."
