He told Ji Xia not to sleep and to be careful, then turned to leave.
Ji Xia instinctively grabbed his hand: "A-Jing, where are you going? I'll go with you."
Chen Jing shook his head, pressed her back into her seat, and pulled a coat from his bag and draped it over her shoulders.
"Get some rest and wait here. This is a man's job, don't worry too much."
Ji Xia watched his retreating figure quietly, her brows furrowing involuntarily.
Chen Jing once again approached the group of cocky thugs who were searching luggage on the train: "Which one of you is the boss? I need to talk to him about something."
In the dimly lit passage, a group of thugs slowly stopped what they were doing and turned around to stare at him expressionlessly.
Chen Jing continued to smile nonchalantly. At that moment, a man with a buzz cut and a cigarette in his mouth walked over.
The man was somewhat burly, dressed in a black leather jacket, with a serious yet somewhat arrogant expression.
"Brother, you need to see our boss?"
"I have something to take care of. You're the older brother, right? A big fish is swimming by. Interested in fishing together?"
The man in the leather jacket narrowed his eyes, waving the scarlet fingertip towards the car door: "Want to find a quiet place to talk?"
The man in the leather jacket led Chen Jing to the car door, nodded to his underlings, and immediately some of them went to look around and even checked the restroom.
After a long pause, the man in the leather jacket asked in a low voice, "Where did this big soft-shelled fish come from? How fat is it?"
Chen Jing smiled slightly and whispered in someone's ear, "A full ten pounds. A purchasing agent withdrew it from the bank yesterday afternoon, but a gang snatched it up overnight. They boarded the train in batches this noon. Anyone interested in intercepting it?"
