Chapter 15 Opening the Snack Blind Box
When Jin Weiguo saw Su He's completely changed behavior, he felt a little overwhelmed for a moment!
Su He: "Come on, it's no big deal!"
Jin Weiguo resigned himself to his fate and tore open the seal on the cupboard door, took out all the bags of grain inside, and weighed them one by one.
Seeing that the man remained silent, Su He asked, "How much is it? Tell me!"
Jin Weiguo: "Forget it, I just don't know people well enough!"
Su He was unhappy: "Is it okay if you don't know the person well? Is there any shortage? How much is missing? How many months has Sister Xiao helped our family collect food?"
Seeing that she was not giving in, Jin Weiguo said stubbornly, "Two kilograms of rice are missing, three kilograms of flour are missing, but the noodles are not missing!"
Su He: "That's a lot less all of a sudden! Every household has a limited amount of food, it's life-saving food! Can you tell me when you started collecting food for us?"
Jin Weiguo's face also turned grim: "Xiaobao is more than three months old!"
Su He: "I've been receiving it for ten months now! I lose a pound a month. Just do the math and see how much I've lost!"
"Forget it, I get it. I won't bother her anymore. She's the widow of a martyr and has policies to protect her. We have no evidence to prove our claim, so we might be accused of slandering the martyr!"
Su He choked: "...It seems possible!"
"Listen to me, this is my fault. We just need to keep this in mind from now on! Okay, don't be angry anymore!"
Making Jin Weiguo recognize the real Sister is only one of Su He's goals. She also wants the man to take more land!
Su He: "Where's the money at home? Did you lend it to anyone else? Bring it over to me too!"
Jin Weiguo shook his head: "Don't worry about the money, tell me what you want to buy and I'll give you the money!"
It seemed the boss wasn't accepting her change so quickly. Su He decided to quit while she was ahead and took a step back. "Okay, I need to buy milk powder for the three kids. Eating like this isn't nutritious enough! The rest of the food at home is almost gone!"
When Jin Weiguo heard this, he just stared at Su He without saying a word.
Su He: "Is there something dirty on my face that I didn't clean off?"
Jin Weiguo: "Have you really lost your memory? When you were injured and hospitalized, didn't the students I taught give you some milk powder and malted milk, oh, and snacks and candy? Didn't you ask me to take them all to the post office and send them back to your parents? What? You don't remember anything? Now you want me to spend money to buy them?"
Su He paused, trying to find something to lean on. "How long has it been since it was sent? Can I go get it back? I've changed my mind, right?"
Jin Weiguo: "What on earth do you want to do?"
Su He: "Don't look at people with such old eyes. You have to remember that 'a man should be looked at with new eyes after three days of absence'! I was hurt, but now I've sobered up and thought things through. From now on, I'll take care of myself first, and then talk about others!"
"Your mother's family is also someone else? Also ranked behind the children?"
"Of course, the kids will be in the front of the line!"
Jin Weiguo nodded. "Okay, I'll trust you again! I haven't sent the stuff yet, and you were in the hospital and wanted it back. I packed it in a bag and left it in the office. I haven't had time to send it to the post office yet."
Su He: "Then can you go to the office and get the things back now? The children's rations are waiting to be eaten!"
Jin Weiguo said nothing this time, turned around and walked out the door. Not long after, he came back with a snakeskin bag. It looked like it was used to hold rice.
Jin Weiguo: "Su He, come and take a look, everything is here. You can do whatever you want."
The three children also gathered around, wanting to see what delicious food was inside.
Su He asked him to carry the things to the living room, then found a pair of scissors and unstitched the stitches on the pockets. Then he took the things out of the pockets and placed them one by one on the coffee table.
Su He first took out two cans of milk powder with Russian words on them, which seemed to be Russian products, six cans of "Shanghai Brand" malted milk, six packets of brown sugar, six packets of white sugar, and the rest were all snacks.
Just the cross-string and the wrapped snacks took up the entire bottom of the snakeskin bag.
Some of them have paper with the names of the snacks written on it, and some have red paper with the name of the shop written on it. I don’t know what is inside.
