Chapter 42 Teacher Wu Returns Home (2/2)

But she still didn't find the lard jar.

Jin Weiguo saw her rummaging through drawers looking for something and asked her what she was looking for.

Su He said he was looking for the jar of lard.

The man turned around and took out a small enamel jar from the wall behind the coal pile with both hands. It was larger than a large bowl and slightly smaller than a small basin, and had a lid.

He placed the enamel pot directly on the stove and gestured to Su He: "The lard is here. My mother used to hide things here!"

Su He opened the lid and found a small bowl of lard inside, a milky solid that had not been touched yet and looked particularly beautiful.

Su He made dinner, and Jin Weiguo took the three children out to play.

She steamed rice, fried shrimp, stir-fried eggplant, scrambled eggs with celery, and stir-fried green beans. In a kitchen cabinet, she found some dried seaweed, perfect for making seaweed egg drop soup.

Finally, the four dishes and one soup were ready. Su He also left a special portion for her mother-in-law, Teacher Wu, so that if her mother-in-law could come back in the evening, she would have rice and soup and wouldn't have to be in a hurry.

The Jin family had already finished dinner and was waiting for Jin Mingde to speak up so that Teacher Wu could go home as soon as possible.

The situation on Kan Xiaowu's side was completely different.

He was kicked by Yan San, but judging from the footprints on his pants, it should have been more than one kick, or perhaps a kick from more than one person.

Kan Xiaowu: "Third brother, I was wrong, I was so wrong! Old Madam Jin has moved several times in that house, and some of her belongings have been taken away! Besides, can she give up her reputation and leave the house to others?"

Someone nearby chimed in, "Third son, that's true. Don't blame Xiaowu! Old Lady Jin has a grandson who's said to be some amazing expert. His work location is a secret. We haven't seen him in years! The Jin family isn't without people! But the two rooms Old Lady Jin lives in now were previously occupied by the Yao family from the main house."

"I also heard from my grandmother that after Mrs. Jin donated her house, she also donated the yellow croaker at home. After that, she didn't lock the doors of the house. Oh, and by the way, she only locked the cupboard where the food was stored!"

"We've also searched the kitchen!"

Kan Xiaowu: "Third brother, I kneel down to you, please let Teacher Wu go home quickly. If he doesn't go back, my life will be in jeopardy!"

Yan San hesitated for a moment with a ferocious look on his face before snorting, "Let Dayang handle it and send the person back safely! I'm going to teach you a lesson today! You have to leave a way out for yourself! Don't think I'm afraid of the Jin family!"

Everyone hurriedly lifted the sedan chair: "Third brother's vision is not comparable to ours!"

Now that the main force causing trouble has withdrawn, others will no longer do things that harm others and benefit themselves.

Teacher Wu had been confined to a single room. Those who had been incarcerated hadn't been particularly harsh. Someone had come to question her several times, asking about the items donated by Old Lady Jin when she was alive. She had told them everything she knew, and had simply said she didn't know the things she didn't know.

The amount of things donated by Old Lady Jin is known to the public and there is nothing to hide.

It's already dark, and another day has passed. Teacher Wu is thinking: I don't know when my son and his family will come back. If he comes back and finds that I'm not at home, I wonder how she will miss him!

Teacher Wu was thinking about it when he saw the door of the room open: "Wu Xiuying, you can go now!"

Teacher Wu returned home like this.
