Chapter 43 The True Purpose (1/2)

Chapter 43 The True Purpose

When Teacher Wu came out, it was already late and there were not many people on the road. She walked slowly for four or five minutes until she got home.

When she got home, the neighbors in the yard were still awake. Some were sitting in the yard enjoying the cool air, while the children had all been sent to bed.

Su He was telling stories to the three children, and Jin Weiguo was sitting in the living room, silent, and no one knew what he was thinking.

So when Su He heard the man calling "Mom", she realized that her mother-in-law had come!

She hurried out and asked the three children to come out and call grandma.

Teacher Wu asked the children not to come out yet, and asked Jin Weiguo to get a brazier.

After she stepped over the brazier, she went to the kitchen to wash her hair and take a bath, changed into clean clothes, and then returned to the room to see her three children.

I don't know if emotions are contagious, but the three children only knew that their grandmother had been taken away, and their mother was worried about her when she spoke. Now that their grandmother has come back, she is taking a bath and changing clothes in a serious manner. The three children who were listening to the story suddenly understood and stopped playing.

Even Xiaobao knew to snuggle up to his mother quietly, staring with his big eyes at his parents and then at his brothers.

After cleaning up, Teacher Wu went into the inner room. She looked at her son's family with a smile on her face, then looked at the three children. She didn't know which one to hold first, but she finally held Xiaobao first: "Oh, grandma's Xiaobao, grandma's precious baby, he's growing so fast!"

Ermao, who was used to competing for favor, also squeezed over and said, "Grandma, is Ermao your precious child?"

Teacher Wu smiled very happily. She sat on the bed and pulled Ermao and Damao into her arms: "You are all grandma's darlings. Grandma misses you so much!"

Teacher Wu is not yet of retirement age. The school has not been in session since last year. It happened that she went to the base to take care of the pregnant Su He. After Su He finished her confinement, she was worried that the school would resume classes at any time, so she sent Liancheng, but unfortunately the school did not resume classes.

After spending enough time with the three children, Teacher Wu finally made time to take care of his son and daughter-in-law.

Teacher Wu: "Xiao Su, what's wrong with your head? Why did you shave it bald and put gauze on it?"

Su He: "It's nothing. There was a heavy rainstorm a while ago, and a fallen tree hit me on the head. There's a wound. It's all scabbed over now, and it's gone. It was hot at the time, and I couldn't wash my hair all the time, so the nurse shaved it off, saying it would help with recovery."

Teacher Wu was still stroking his daughter-in-law's head. "Is there really nothing wrong with your head? If there is, you can't hide it from me! Why did you go out on a rainy day?"

Su He left the three children playing in bed, then dragged Teacher Wu to the kitchen for dinner. "Mom, you should come over first. I've got a big pot warming up. I don't know when you'll be here, so I'll make it right away. If you don't have an appetite, we brought some malted milk. You can make a bowl to drink first."

Teacher Wu felt so comfortable all over that he kept saying that he was going to eat and left the malted milk for the children.

Teacher Wu sat down at the table and looked at the four dishes and one soup. He knew that this was the meal made by his daughter-in-law: "Have you cooked all the rice at home? And what about the noodles or Fuqiang noodles? Let's make dumplings tomorrow!"

Su He and Jin Weiguo looked at each other and no one said anything. They wanted Teacher Wu to finish his meal quickly.

Jin Weiguo turned the topic back to Su He's injury.

He teased Su He, "Mom, after Su He stopped teaching, she stopped sending money to the Su family. It's been almost a year. My mother-in-law got anxious and sent her several registered letters saying there was an emergency at home, but she didn't ask for money. The last time she sent a telegram saying she was sick!"

"She was worried and wanted to go check on them. She left her three children with my wife and rushed over, regardless of the weather. She was walking along during a torrential downpour when a tree fell on the hillside and hit her. She was lucky there wasn't a mudslide!"
