Chapter 35
As Xue left the dressing room, she ran into Kakashi.
The silver-haired boy was unusually dressed in formal attire, his slender, thin-skinned figure accentuated by a gray-white suit.
He was still wearing a black mask and headband, with only his right eye, which had a black pupil, visible.
Kakashi noticed the unusual lipstick color on her right cheek and reached out his hand.
Before Xue could react, she used the back of her hand to wipe the spot where Kushina had kissed her, before his hand touched her.
Kakashi's eyes darkened, and he withdrew his hand, his expression somewhat somber.
For some reason, Yuki noticed Kakashi's height.
He used to only reach my shoulder, but now he's the same height as her.
Yuki's thoughts began to wander again. If Obito were still alive, he would probably be this tall by now.
The wedding proceeded smoothly under the guidance of the emcee.
Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki exchanged wedding rings as if they were a truly loving couple.
Yuki sat in the seats arranged for the Uchiha clan on the field, with Itachi and Mikoto, who was recently pregnant, beside her.
Based on the dates, Mikoto's child will probably be born a little earlier.
Itachi took Yuki's hand, and Yuki turned her head to ask, "What's wrong?"
Itachi shook his head and simply said, "When I grow up, will my aunt consider marrying me?"
"Huh?" Xue was a little stunned and looked at Sister Mikoto.
Mikoto covered her mouth and laughed, looking like she was watching a good show.
Xue asked, somewhat puzzled, "Why would Itachi think that way?"
"I think if my aunt can be involved in my life in the future, wouldn't it be the best choice to become family?"
Itachi spoke eloquently, but Yuki frowned slightly: "But we're already family."
"What Itachi means is, like the Fourth Hokage and Uzumaki-senpai, right? A close relationship where you're in me and I'm in you." Shisui, sitting in the back row, explained to Itachi with a smile. He leaned forward to get closer to Yuki, who turned her head to look at Shisui.
Because of the distance, the tip of Xue's ear brushed against Shizuku's lips, but Xue herself didn't feel it.
Shisui was taken aback for a moment, but quickly regained his usual expression and looked at the two of them with a smile.
Hearing Shisui's words, Itachi unconsciously blushed slightly.
Itachi looked up at Yuki with hopeful eyes and held her little hand tightly.
Xue shook her head helplessly and said, "Let's ask you that question again when Itachi grows up."
Just as Itachi showed a disappointed expression, Shisui pointed to himself with interest: "And what about me, Yuki-senpai?"
Xue, with an expression that seemed to say "You're joining in the fun too," reached out and pinched Zhishui's still slightly chubby cheek.
"No, you idiot Shisui."
As golden autumn petals fell from the sky, Xue subconsciously let go of her hand.
Shisui, whose cheek had been pinched, was momentarily nervous.
The right cheek, touched by the snow, felt like it had been electrocuted, giving off a tingling, numbing sensation.
Itachi, somewhat displeased, grabbed Yuki's hand, his gaze fixed intently on Shisui.
Don't try to take my aunt away from me.
Shisui smiled, putting one arm around Itachi and the other around Yuki, squeezing between the two, making it seem like the three of them had a very good relationship.
The wedding was almost over, and the photographer called everyone to take a group photo.
Xue's gaze inevitably met that of the central water gate, where a blond, blue-eyed man in a white suit smiled at her.
But that smile carried a hint of barely perceptible forcedness, which was... even uglier than not making any expression at all.
Yuki lowered her head and avoided eye contact. In the final group photo, Kakashi stood next to Minato Namikaze, while Yuki had somehow been pushed to Kakashi's other side. Itachi stood next to Yuki on the other side, with Genma Shiranui and Shikara Nara behind them. It was probably a large group photo, and Mikoto stood next to Kushina.
With a click, the photo was quickly taken.
Even though it was a group photo, Kakashi immediately spotted himself and the snow next to him.
A silver-haired boy and a black-haired girl, both the same height, stood very close together. The girl looked somewhat dazed, and her lips curled into a slight smile when facing the camera.
But it couldn't hide her beautiful features, fair skin, and slender figure.
The two looked very well-matched, like childhood sweethearts who grew up together.
He specifically sought out a photographer and paid extra for an extra negative.
Kakashi felt a surge of excitement, but Yuki didn't notice at all.
Kushina curiously asked Mikoto about some things related to pregnancy, while Yuki ate cake with Itachi by the hand on the side.
Occasionally, the girl would reveal a gentle smile, as if she were taking care of Obito.
-
The wedding was over, and the children younger than Itachi and Shisui were urged by their parents to go home.
Kakashi and the other boys who were older than Yuki were left behind; many of the older boys were already engaged or married.
For example, Ritsu and Aki, who are the same age as Yuki in the clan, got engaged last year, so there are no other Uchiha clan members her age anymore.
There was only Shisui, who was even younger, and Itachi, along with a child named Uchiha Izumi, a girl the same age as Itachi.
Naturally, Kakashi and Yuki ended up together.
Whenever Yuki sees him, she always glances at... the eye that belongs to Obito.
Kushina changed out of her elaborate and cumbersome Western-style wedding dress and into a pure white long gown.
Standing next to the water gate, they look very compatible.
In the banquet hall, the newlyweds raised their glasses and drank one glass after another.
When he toasted the younger generation, Minato was smiling, but his wine glass bumped straight into Yuki.
The pale purple of her dress was suddenly stained and deepened by the red wine. Kakashi took off his coat and draped it over Yuki.
It was a trivial little incident; Minato apologized, but before he could say anything more, he was caught off guard.
Shikaku, who was standing nearby, said that Kakashi would be in charge here, and Minato was pulled away to go and offer a toast to the next table.
Inside the dressing room, Yuki took off her dress. Only then did she realize that she had no change of clothes, just a suit jacket that still retained Kakashi's body heat.
Standing outside the door was Kakashi, dressed only in a white shirt and gray-white suit pants, who noticed the girl wearing only a coat.
That greyish-white suit jacket was whiter than snow, and those were a pair of straight, slender legs.
The bright light stirred his heart with longing.
Almost instantly, his face turned bright red, even his mask couldn't hide it.
Before Xue could react, he pressed her shoulder and pushed her back into the locker room. Kakashi didn't know why he had subconsciously locked the locker room from the inside.
The air conditioning in the changing room was severely inadequate, and there was one extra person in the space that was only big enough for one person.
Kakashi's forehead was covered in a thin layer of sweat. He could only support himself on the wall with one palm, while the other hand had nowhere to go.
His right eye fell on the dress hanging to the side, and his voice sounded somewhat flustered.
"I'll go find you some clothes to change into."
Xue turned her head slightly, watching Kakashi make no move after saying those words.
She frowned, as if she wanted to say something. Then, as if noticing something amiss, a blush spread across her face.
"Perverted...abnormal..."
Kakashi's thoughts were in a jumble, and the two words from the girl's mouth made him lose his usual composure, even his black pupils turned into mosquito coil eyes that kept spinning.
Xue was sweating and looked quite disheveled, with her slightly curly long hair sticking messily to the sides of her face.
Kakashi could even smell her scent, a faint floral fragrance.
During his time at the Ninja Academy, Obito always carried this scent.
Because of the distance, he could even see the tiny white downy hairs on the snow under the light, and his voice trembled involuntarily.
"Wait a minute, let me calm down, I'll be right back."
He unconsciously swallowed, then closed his eyes to stop thinking about anything else.
Try to flatten the bulge in your lower body.
However, the girl's youthful body and slightly rapid breathing were evident.
No, I just can't calm down!
Kakashi opened his eyes, and the girl in front of him had her lips pursed and an expression that he would never normally show.
Her almond-shaped eyes were deep and dark, yet they were shrouded in a thin layer of mist.
Her fair face was flushed, and her collarbones were slightly red. Looking down, one could even see her slightly heaving chest and two straight, slender legs through the open collar of her suit jacket.
Yuki could smell a faint scent of alcohol on Kakashi, and the boy's breath, sometimes deep and sometimes shallow, pattered against her earlobe.
She gritted her teeth and lowered her head, refusing to look at Kakashi. The boy, however, mistakenly took this as consent to take things further, and tentatively brushed his nose against her delicate earlobe through the thin fabric of his mask.
He spoke cautiously, "Can I... do it?"
Without her explicitly refusing, Kakashi pulled down his mask with one hand, revealing his sharp jawline.
He gently bit her earlobe with his teeth, and Xue opened her eyes slightly, letting out a soft, ambiguous hum.
Kakashi loosened his teeth, leaving a tooth mark on his beautiful earlobe.
His heart seemed to skip a couple of beats as he reached out to lift her chin.
There was a knock on the locker room door; it was Minato-sensei's voice: "Xiaoxue, are you still in there?"
Kakashi almost gasped, but he steadied his breathing.
He looked at Xue with his eyes, but Xue did not respond.
Immediately afterward, the doorknob spun and shook violently, but the person outside seemed to give up, and the doorknob returned to stillness.
After Kakashi and Yuki breathed a sigh of relief, Kakashi realized what he was afraid of.
Minato-sensei is already married to Kushina-senpai, and Yuki pushed him away with a somewhat indifferent expression.
Kakashi paused for a moment. There were two people standing in the narrow locker room, almost touching.
Kakashi wondered if he could also act cute towards Yuki like Obito, because...
He inherited Obito's eyes and last wishes; he should be closer to Obito.
"Sister Xue... Sister Xue?"
Kakashi had asked Yuki to use that term of endearment when it was just the two of them in private, but not this one.
He stopped using it after Obito left.
Xue's face turned a little pale, and Kakashi realized that perhaps he shouldn't have addressed her that way.
The atmosphere between the two was no longer ambiguous, and Kakashi gradually calmed down.
He said, "I'm sorry."
Xue opened the door, and outside lay a woman's light blue dress.
Even the size of the top fit perfectly. Back in the banquet hall, Xue saw Shuimen at the corner of the dressing room.
Minato kept watching, then he smiled slightly, his eyes filled with the image of Yuki.
