Chapter 6 Eldest Brother Su Jianren

Liu Dahong agreed so readily not because he was stupid.

He was also thinking about what he could do about the Black Village mine.

Su Guiquan is a man of principle; he would never renege on his debts.

Even if he beats Su Wu to death afterward, he will still return the money.

But a single IOU is not enough; with this document, the case is considered confirmed.

In the world of martial arts, disputes are all about who is right and who is in power.

Now that Su Wu has delivered leverage to his doorstep, how could he possibly refuse?

Making his old enemy Su Guiquan feel disgusted was something that 1 million yuan couldn't possibly accomplish for him.

Moreover, in his view, Su Wu had already incurred so many gambling debts that he was finished and there was no way he could ever pay them back.

This is clearly a spendthrift son who's come out to ruin his father's life.

However, he still reminded Su Wu, "Kid, if you don't pay up soon, I don't care if your father beats you to death."

"I know, I know," Su Wu said, sounding somewhat impatient.

Seeing this, Liu Dahong called out to the front, "Third brother, third brother, come here for a second."

When his third brother came running over, he instructed, "Transfer 1 million to Su Wu. Get it done now, and also get a decent IOU."

Third Brother didn't ask any more questions, took Su Wu's bank card number, and went to handle the matter.

The person who was supposed to come hadn't arrived yet, and Liu Dahong and Su Wu wandered around the pawnshop.

Su Wu laughed and said, "Uncle Da Hong, your pawnshop business is getting better and better, it's full of antiques."

"Hmph, these were all brought back by some of my underlings' country bumpkins. We don't know anything about them, so they're just for decoration. If you see one you like, I'll give it to you." Liu Dahong waved his hand with a smile.

These kinds of people, whether they have it or not, never lose their courage.

Some people benefit from this, while others fail to impress and suffer losses.

Although Su Wu wasn't an expert, he knew that Liu Dahong's pawnshop didn't actually have any fakes at the moment.

Thinking he could make as much money as possible, he seemingly casually approached a target he had already set his sights on.

It was a polychrome dragon-shaped vase, with the inscription "Made in the Kangxi period" on the base.

If this thing is real, it would cost at least several hundred thousand.

Since he was in a losing proposition anyway, Su Wu didn't care about the weight of the item.

"This one is good, the yellow color is auspicious."

"You're so ignorant! Everyone says only bronze items are valuable. You're carrying around a broken bottle, and you call yourself a college student? You've wasted your education..."

Seeing this, Liu Dahong looked at him with disdain and looked down on him.

Su Wu didn't care about any of that and decisively packed it into his backpack to avoid him having to change his mind.

Half an hour later, Third Brother returned after completing the formalities.

After carefully examining the payment receipt, Su Wu readily signed and affixed his fingerprint to the IOU.

Having finished his business, Su Wu planned to leave.

Liu Dahong tried to persuade him to stay.

"Su Wu, since you like to play games, stay and wait a while. You might be able to win some more. The people here are playing for big stakes today."

That was just an excuse for Su Wu; how could he possibly engage in risky activities like gambling?

He politely declined, saying, "I can't today, I have other things to do. I'll definitely come another day."

"That's not very fair of you, kid. You just took my money and you're already showing me no respect. That's not right." Liu Dahong's face darkened instantly.

People like them care about saving face; they'll be flattered.

Su Wu knew that saying more might cause unforeseen problems, so he simply said, "Then let's just take a look, and not sit at the table."

"That's more like it. Your older brother brought him back and came over. Let's meet, brothers." Liu Dahong immediately beamed with joy.

Upon hearing this, Su Wu frowned; this guy was up to no good.

His older brother's name is Su Jianren, and he's a complete spendthrift.

He lost hundreds of thousands of yuan to his father during high school and was eventually sent to study in Japan.

This guy is a leopard can't change its spots; he didn't even like the local specialties in Japan.

Feeling a pang of regret, Su Wu knew that Liu Dahong was waiting to see him make a fool of himself.

What good can come from a meeting between the eldest son and the illegitimate son?

Su Wu tentatively asked, "Uncle Da Hong, you wouldn't be planning to...?"

"Don't worry, I won't say a word about your matter, but you have to give me face." Liu Dahong said with a playful smile.

Su Wu asked in confusion, "Why is my elder brother here to play?"

Liu Dahong smiled smugly, "I'm just vouching for Jia Jiping, because your uncle here has good character."

Jia Jiping, the son of Jia Wenhe, the biggest boss in their county, didn't finish his studies but inherited the family business.

If this person orchestrated the whole thing, then it's not surprising that Su Jianren came to join in; they're good friends.

Just then, a few laughing and joking young people walked in.

"Uncle Da Hong, hurry up and get started, my hands are itching to get started."

Before I even saw him, I remembered Jia Jiping's unrestrained voice.

Su Wu was not familiar with these people; after all, he was a lowly illegitimate son.

Upon seeing him, Su Jianren's smiling face immediately turned ugly.

"Su Wu, what are you doing here? Is this a place for you?"

"Su Wu? You mean the fifth son of your family who didn't have a mother, the one you just mentioned?" Jia Jiping immediately replied.

Upon hearing this, a cold glint flashed in Su Wu's eyes, but he ultimately suppressed it.

Su Jianren sneered, "It's him, a bastard."

Upon hearing this, the young people let out cryptic chuckles.

Su Wu sneered, "Don't you call my father 'father' too? From a genetic point of view, you and I are the same. So that's how our Su family came to be."

"You...you say that again?" Su Jianren said, embarrassed and annoyed.

"Then say it again?" Su Wu sneered.

At this point, Su Jianren dared not say anything reckless, lest it become a laughing stock.

However, the atmosphere between the two immediately became tense.

Su Wu thought to himself, "Damn it, Liu Dahong is finally getting his way."

Sure enough, Liu Dahong, having seen enough of the joke, tried to smooth things over, saying, "Whatever grudges we have, let's settle them over Pai Gow. Let's not ruin our family harmony."

“Uncle Da Hong is right. Every family has its illegitimate children or brothers. We’re all family. Let’s settle things over a game of Pai Gow.” Jia Jiping put his arm around Su Jianren’s shoulder.

He came here to have fun and didn't want to spoil the mood.

Su Jianren knew there was no need to embarrass himself here, so he glared at Su Wu and sat down at the card table.

At this moment, Su Wu felt that the interest of 1 million yuan had been paid, and he could leave.

To his surprise, Jia Jiping saw him turn around and called out, "Su Wu, don't go! Give me some face and come fishing. I'll give you a share of the winnings if I win!"

Su Jianren sneered, "He has no money, he can't even afford to bet a single cent. Don't let him embarrass himself here."

"Jianren, that's not fair of you. Is your family short of a few hundred thousand? What's wrong with letting the child see the world? You're the eldest brother, after all," Jia Jiping said unhappily.

He loves excitement, and he won't miss out on anything exciting that's not happening right now.

He just lost hundreds of thousands yesterday, and now he can bully Su Jianren. He'd love for someone to keep annoying him.

Su Jianren waved his hand impatiently, "Fine, fine, give him 100,000, lose it all and get out."
