Chapter 15 Threat

Lin Yu found himself inside a building, surrounded by a spacious lobby with a distinctly European style, with chandeliers hanging high overhead, casting a soft white light.

The walls of the hall were covered with colorful stage play posters, featuring blonde and blue-eyed male and female leads.

Is this copy set in a foreign country? Lin Yu wondered.

In the corner against the wall, there were several machines, which Lin Yu judged to be automatic ticket vending machines.

Behind Lin Yu were two locked glass doors, and outside was a pitch-black night.

Five figures stood in different locations in the hall.

Lin Yu glanced around and saw, to his left, a stout, middle-aged man with a face full of scars, carrying a longbow on his back, and a smiling young man with blond hair. He had a curved sword at his waist and looked very arrogant.

On the right, there was a man and a woman, who looked to be about the same age as Lin Yu.

The man was dressed fashionably, with an earring in his ear, and held an earth-yellow staff.

He is probably an earth-type mage.

The woman was stunningly beautiful, and her tight leather outfit perfectly showcased her curvaceous figure. She wore a sharp, narrow willow blade on each of her waists.

He's probably a colleague.

Directly in front of him stood a dark-skinned young man with a pointed face and monkey-like features, holding a silver-white pistol and a smile playing on his lips—it was Li Fei!

Lin Yu's expression was solemn. Among this group of people, Li Fei alone was enough to kill him. If the others were all his accomplices, then he had no chance of survival.

Lin Yu tried to open the glass door behind him; he wanted to escape!

"Buzz!" A force came from the glass door, and Lin Yu staggered backward.

A notification sounded in everyone's ears: [Ding! Warning! You may not leave the instance before completing the main/side quest.]

Lin Yu's heart skipped a beat, which meant that he had to stay here to complete the mission and could not leave directly.

All eyes turned to Lin Yu, and the blond-haired youth sneered:

"Kid, look how scared you are! You just arrived at the dungeon and you're already thinking of running away?"

A look of doubt flashed in the earring man's eyes: "Brother, you didn't wander into this place by mistake, did you?"

He immediately smiled and said:

"However, you're lucky. With Third Master and Master Ma around, as long as you're willing to give them half of the reward for clearing the level, they'll help you clear it."

The woman in the leather jacket tilted her head and looked at Lin Yu: "I'm not mistaken, you're a swordsman too, right? Do your best later, don't embarrass us swordsmen."

In response to their questions, Lin Yu could only offer a friendly smile:

"Haha! My name is Song Tianhuo. I'm new here, so please take good care of me!"

As he spoke, Lin Yu's mind raced.

The three people—the blond-haired man, the man with the earring, and the woman in the leather jacket—were likely unsuspecting victims who were lured into the instance. For details of how they were tricked, please refer to Gao Yang's account.

However, while the earring-wearing men and others were also scammed, Gao Yang received 70% of the benefits, so why was he treated differently?

Lin Yu felt that he had to tell Gao Yang this news when he got back, well, assuming he could still get back alive.

The fat-faced man they called Third Master was probably Li Fei's accomplice and a high-ranking archer, undoubtedly also a level 5.

The strength of the blond-haired guy and his group was roughly the same as his own, which made it easier to control them.

Lin Yu decisively abandoned his plan to expose Third Master's true colors and then rise up in rebellion.

Third Master looked over and grinned, "Young brother, let me warn you beforehand, everything here is treacherous, so don't touch anything carelessly!"

"If you get into trouble for messing with these things, we won't save you!"

His gaze swept over the others, and he said calmly, "You're the same."

"Understood, Third Master! As long as you can get me through this place, I'll do whatever you say," the blond-haired man said with a smile.

The man with the earring and the woman in the leather jacket exchanged a glance and then nodded in unison.

Li Fei looked at Lin Yu with amusement: "Song Tianhuo, once we're in the dungeon, you'd better listen to me and Third Master."

He concealed a silver-white pistol in his sleeve, occasionally pointing the muzzle at Lin Yu's head, heart, and genitals, while emitting a strange "ha" laugh.

He's threatening me! Lin Yu tensed up, gripping his longsword tightly, his mind racing.

They probably want to use me before killing me. As long as I'm still of use to them, I should be relatively safe.

But when tackling dungeons, I could easily be used as cannon fodder.

We must get away as soon as possible, and then find a way to kill them!

At this moment, the dungeon notification sounded again, and a line of text appeared on the control panel:

[Main Quest Now Open: Dear audience, please enjoy tonight's performance!]

[Side quest activated: Please reach the 7th floor safely within half an hour!]

Lin Yu pondered carefully, but what exactly the main quest entailed was currently unknown.

The side mission is to safely reach the 7th floor within half an hour. This means that you will inevitably encounter dangers on the way up the stairs, and you must resolve the dangers within the specified time.

At the same time, the blond-haired men all looked thoughtful, while the woman in the leather jacket whispered:

"Is this the quest from the Death Dungeon? It doesn't look very good."

The man with the earring standing next to him remarked, "Based on my experience of clearing dungeons many times, the more seemingly simple a dungeon is, the more terrifying it is."

The blond guy shrugged: "Anyway, with Third Master around, he can lead us through the game."

Lin Yu did not join the group's discussion. While he was thinking, he kept an eye on Li Fei's actions out of the corner of his eye.

But then Li Fei walked to Third Master's side and whispered a few words. Third Master turned his head, gave Lin Yu a sharp look, and nodded slightly.
