"I see."
Immediately, Third Master said in a loud voice:
"Everyone, what we need to do now is get to the 7th floor as soon as possible. I have a complete guide here to ensure your safe arrival."
"What you need to do next is to obey my orders unconditionally, understand?"
They all said in unison, "We understand!"
Lin Yu was a beat slow to respond: "I understand."
Third Master nodded: "Come with me."
As he spoke, he walked first to the automatic ticket machine in the corner, pressed a few buttons, and a "buzzing" sound of electricity rang out as a ticket was dispensed from the machine.
While holding the ticket in his hand, Third Master sternly warned:
"You have to buy a ticket before you can get on the elevator, otherwise the elevator will take us to the basement, and everyone will die!"
The group's expressions changed; they hadn't expected such danger to be hidden right from the start of the dungeon.
"Thank goodness we have Third Master, otherwise we might not have even been able to complete the first side quest!" the man with the earring exclaimed.
Third Master smiled without saying a word.
Li Fei was also laughing, but unlike Li Fei, his eyes were full of mockery.
At this moment, the woman in the leather jacket asked curiously:
"What's on the basement level? Why will everyone die if I tell you?"
"Well?" Third Master's fat face trembled as he said, "Down there, there are monsters, man-eating monsters."
"Hiss!" The group gasped, realizing even more that they had made the right choice by following Third Master and the others.
Lin Yu lowered his head and pondered. How much of Third Master's words were credible? Was it really necessary to buy a ticket?
Lin Yu remained silent, walked to a ticket machine, and pressed the button.
A prompt appeared on the ticket machine: "[Please enter your name]"
Lin Yu entered the name without hesitation: "Song Tianhuo".
"Buzz." A static sound rang out, and soon, a ticket was ejected.
Lin Yu picked up the ticket and glanced at it, only to see the words "Midnight Theater Ticket" printed in bold black and white on the paper.
Below that was printed the name Lin Yu had entered, along with a line of small print: "Audience Notice".
[1. The lobby on the first floor is a safe area, but only before the performance begins.]
2. When riding an elevator, please do not refuse entry to other passengers, even if they are man-eating monsters.
4. Monsters don't necessarily eat people; they might also save them.
4. When walking up stairs, if you hear a companion calling your name from behind, please do not turn around. The person calling you may not be a companion.
5. You may bring cola and popcorn into the venue while watching the performance, but please do not eat them.
Lin Yu frowned more and more as he looked at the film, cold sweat breaking out on his back, feeling as if he were watching a horror movie.
Lin Yu wrote down all the information above and quickly put away the tickets.
Meanwhile, the others had also bought their tickets, and each of them looked terrified.
"Damn it, there really are man-eating monsters!" the blond-haired man couldn't help but exclaim.
The woman in the leather jacket pointed to a line in the audience guidelines and said softly, "What does it mean: 'Those who call you might not be your companions'? Does that mean the stairs..."
Is there a ghost inside?
"Don't talk nonsense, there's no such thing as a ghost in this world," the man with the earring said irritably.
"Perhaps it's just a copy deliberately created to scare people?"
Yellow Hair nodded: "That's right, look at this one:"
When riding an elevator, please do not refuse other passengers, even if they are man-eating monsters.
And this one: "Monsters don't necessarily eat people; they might save them."
"Completely contradictory, it's completely irrelevant!"
Third Master's gaze swept over everyone present, then he sneered:
"Don't worry about what's on the tickets, it's all a scam. Just follow me!"
"Yes, yes, yes!" The blond-haired group nodded quickly.
Lin Yu was a beat slower, making him seem out of place.
Third Master waved his hand: "Alright, everyone come and take the elevator with me."
The woman in the leather jacket asked softly, "Why an elevator, and not stairs?"
Third Master was a little impatient and casually explained: "When my teammates and I came here last time, all the people who took the stairs died, but the people who took the elevator survived, including Master Li and me."
A group of people arrived at the elevator entrance.
There are two elevators operating simultaneously in this building, one on the left and one on the right. The floors displayed on the screens are "1" and "3".
Without a second thought, the blond-haired man reached for the switch on the left-hand elevator.
"Slap!" Third Master slapped his hand away, glaring fiercely at him:
"What did I tell you before? Don't touch anything here, do you want to die?"
The blond-haired man's face turned somewhat ugly. In the end, he suppressed his anger and said in a low voice, "I'm sorry, I will definitely be more careful."
Third Master snorted coldly, the fierce glint in his eyes fading, and reached out to press the switch on the right.
On the screen, the number "3" representing the floor appears with a downward arrow, and the numbers jump to: "2", "1".
Lin Yu's eyes flickered slightly.
Why do we insist on using the elevator that's stopped on the 3rd floor when there's an elevator that's stopped on the 1st floor?
Just as I was pondering this, a "click-click" sound came from the mechanism, and the elevator doors slowly opened.
"Watch out, there's a monster inside!" Third Master suddenly roared.
