Chapter 299 Not a Natural Accident Death
As per procedure, Kogoro Mouri and Conan quickly approached the deceased, confirmed his death after checking his breathing and pulse, and then the police quickly arrived at the scene.
"The deceased was named Blake Rodney, 64 years old, with a history of chronic heart disease. Based on the observations, he is suspected to have died of a heart attack, but he had taken medication before the attack. The medication he took was indeed for treating heart disease. The exact cause of death will only be known after an autopsy."
A forensic doctor reported to Officer Nakai, who was in charge of the case, while holding his notebook.
Officer Nakai nodded, then examined the deceased a few more times. "First, check if there are any other unusual wounds on his body. If not, then send him for an autopsy."
"Yes, officer!"
During the forensic examination, Conan stood with his hands in his pockets, staring intently at the body.
This should not have been an accidental death.
"Officer, there's a mark that looks like a needle prick on the soleus muscle of the deceased's left calf!" the forensic doctor suddenly shouted.
Officer Nakai frowned. "This shouldn't be a natural accidental death. Speed up the questioning of the other people at the scene."
"yes!"
Police are conducting an orderly investigation at the scene.
A tall, short-haired woman dressed in business attire walked over.
"Child!" Yuno Aso approached her friend with some nervousness.
Nakai Chiko patted her head gently in a comforting gesture, then walked towards Inspector Nakai, crossed her arms, and asked, "Was it an accident or murder?"
Officer Nakai, whose appearance was somewhat fierce, glanced at her indifferently. "I don't know for now, but it's highly likely that it's a murder."
Nakai Chiko didn't say anything more, but simply took out a list and handed it to him, "This is the list of members participating in this concert."
"Um."
Officer Nakai calmly accepted it, then glanced at Nakai Chiko's retreating figure as she returned to Aso Yuno's side.
"So, that young lady and that police officer know each other?" Kogoro Mouri asked curiously, one hand in his pocket.
Nakai Chikako smiled and nodded. "Yes, he is actually my dad."
"Wow, so Miss Chiko's father is a policeman!"
The scene of the death looked more like a natural accident. Although the atmosphere was still somewhat somber because someone had died, it became a little more lively once someone took the lead.
Since this wasn't the familiar Beika area, Kogoro Mouri felt awkward about going over to examine the corpse, so he started chatting with the younger guys instead.
Having disguised his hair color and appearance, Behringer stood in the crowd with his arms crossed. He glanced at Kogoro Mouri, then gave a faint look at an unimportant person in the crowd.
The next second, a surprised shout rang out, "Hey! Isn't that the famous detective Kogoro Mouri, Mr. Mouri!?"
Immediately, the scene erupted in an uproar. Some people who knew and recognized Kogoro Mouri began to whisper among themselves, quietly recounting the famous detective's glorious deeds of "wherever he goes, people die."
"Um?"
Officer Nakai naturally heard the shout as well. He turned his head and looked at the man, who was passable in appearance but had a somewhat sleazy air about him, with a scrutinizing and curious gaze.
"You are the sleeping detective, Mr. Kogoro Mouri?"
Suddenly thrust into everyone's view by a shout, Kogoro Mouri looked bewildered, but he still scratched the back of his head and laughed, "Hahaha, you flatter me, you flatter me..."
