Chapter 336 No Breathing
With the bird looking completely bewildered, Behfinger landed on the ground below the cliff, then squatted down on a rock by the river and splashed some water with his hand.
"Wow, this water is so cool."
He touched his back, where there was a wound that had been cut by an axe.
but--
At the start of the plan, Bei said: "For the perfect plan! Sacrificing a little is absolutely no problem!"
Just before being censored, Bei exclaimed: "Illusion! Illusion! Illusion!! I'm doomed! I'm doomed! I'm doomed!!"
Behffiner sighed, then applied several more layers of illusionary magic to himself, enough to affect others' perception, before standing up and falling straight into the river, letting himself drift away with the current.
On the cliff, Ai Haibara's hand trembled as she took out the detective badge, from which came Conan's voice.
"Ai Haibara? Where are you now? We've already reunited with Mitsuhiko and the others."
"I'm...on the edge of a cliff! Come quick! Come quick...save Behrfinger! Come save him!"
She called out in a trembling voice, her voice clearly choked with sobs.
"Wh...what?"
Conan was taken aback when Ai Haibara lost control of her emotions for the first time. He quickly recovered, looked at Kogoro Mouri and the staff from the gift company who had arrived, told them where Ai Haibara was and what was happening, and then rushed over.
The sound of helicopters could even be heard from above.
A group of people went down the cliff and began searching upstream and downstream from the direction where Behffinger fell.
Kawasaki Machi held Chizuku's hand, his eyes darting around.
Seeing Behfinger stuck on the rocks in the river in the distance, he smiled slightly, but then changed his expression the next second.
He pointed in a panic, "Look! Isn't that Brother Behrfinger!"
Hearing his shout, Ai Haibara looked up and immediately ran over.
The staff carefully stepped into the rushing river and pulled Behffinger ashore.
Seeing his pale face, Ai Haibara clenched her fists, gritted her teeth, and tears welled up in her eyes.
“No, he seems… not breathing.” The medical staff examining him frowned, placing their fingers on Behringer’s neck pulse.
"Impossible!" Ai Haibara's eyes widened as she rushed to Behringer's side and grabbed his hand. "Get him to the hospital quickly! He can still be saved! He can still be saved...!"
Large tears fell from her eyes, pattering onto the back of Behringer's hand.
"He did it all to save me. It's all my fault, all my fault... I should be the one who should die..." Ai Haibara gripped his hand tightly, her heart feeling as if it were being squeezed in his hand, making it impossible for her to breathe.
"Ai..."
Dr. Agasa knelt down and held her shoulders.
Ai Haibara opened her mouth and cried out in anguish.
"How could this be..."
Everyone looked sad.
Conan stood there, stunned, staring at the blue-haired youth who had collapsed silently to the ground. An indescribable sorrow spread endlessly through his heart.
Chizuru and Kawasei Machi stood behind them, heads bowed, seemingly in regret, but their expressions were actually calm.
"Beep..."
A faint sound suddenly came from the electronic watch on Bechfenger's left wrist, and Ai Haibara, who was holding his hand, felt the vibration from the watch.
With tears in her eyes, she stared blankly as several thin needles emerged from her watch and pierced Behringer's skin.
